First Taste Chinese Restaurant
Great Food! Fast Service ! Attached are photos of the up to date menu!
We got wings from here for Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. There were 9 of us, and only 5 of us ate the wings. All 5 of us got really sick with diarrhea, belly cramps, and vomiting within hours of consuming them.. We will never eat here again. Becareful if you do.
Golden China Restaurant
We spent $62 on food that ended up straight in the trash. The food had no seasoning, no salt, and absolutely no flavor. The fried chicken was soggy, and we weren’t even sure it was fully cooked. We ordered based on the good reviews, but after tasting the food and being so disappointed, we went back and noticed the negative reviews that said exactly what we’re saying now. Unfortunately, we’ll never order from this place again
Unfortunately I am just not a fan, I placed a lunch order of 2 general Tso chicken and 2 vegetables egg rolls and my total was $30 for neither of us to like our food and my boyfriend is not picky. The egg roll wasn’t really good and the rice didn’t give fried rice. It’s a very soft soggy texture and looks like wheat rice. The chicken is okay but overall I’m very disappointed.
Asian Express
8 piece wing and pork fried rice lunch special for $7.95!!! WHO can beat that for 8 pieces of chicken with rice?? Chicken was fried crispy, which I like but I know not everyone does. Rice was cooked very well too. Fiancé got a general tso’s plate with shrimp fried rice (shrimp was a $2 up charge) but it was great and fresh! $20.50 for both lunch plates. Found our new spot in Burlington. Cashier was really nice too and helped me choose between what chicken to order.
My wontons were burned to a hard crisp my chow mein had no chow mein noodles and too much fish taste and the guy taking my order complained my tip doesn't go to him unless it's cash and he doesn't have any money... one n done for me. Would not recommend!
Shanghai Restaurant
Shanghai Restaurant - Graham, NC Review I typically don’t write reviews like this, but my experience at Shanghai Restaurant left me extremely disappointed. This was my second time eating here, and I was hoping for a better outcome, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I ordered the House Special Fried Rice and chicken wings, which cost $16. For that price, I expected much better. The rice was undercooked and lacked flavor, with only chicken, pork, and literally one shrimp. The chicken wings were overcooked and dry. On top of that, I also ordered a sesame chicken combo with an egg roll and crab Rangoon. For two combination trays, my total came out to $33, which is far too expensive for the quality of food I received. The food was so disappointing that, three hours later, my entire plate is still sitting here untouched. If you’re going to charge that much for a meal, the food needs to meet expectations. Unfortunately, it did not. I’m honestly frustrated enough to want my money back. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on my experience and the high price point for food that just wasn’t good.
Good food and nice staff. I ordered the general chicken, fried rice and egg roll combination. They give good portions. Very tasty. I’ll definitely try something else again sometime.
China One Restaurant
If I could do zero stars I would. 1. The chicken wings are now separated this is the 1st and only Chinese restaurant I know to separate the wings it’s a money grab. 2. The fried rice is NOT Fried rice is more like Spanish yellow rice with random meats. 3. Hot oil is an extra $.95. It seems like they’re cutting corners to find ways to save money but it will just end up hurting the business overall.
Good food for the soul, been going here for years and never been disappointed. The wait can be long but always worth it for what you’re paying and getting handed.
Hibachi House
Ordered the Hibachi Chicken & crab rangoons. Both the chicken & vegetables & rangoons were delicious! The "fried rice" was very bland, as others have stated, but its not bad. For $10.25, you really couldn't ask for a better deal! WAY More affordable & better tasting than the Hong Kong chinese place that's down the road. IMO. Will definitely be a repeat customer so long as the quality stays the same. Edit: came back to say, this place was a bonefide lifesaver when I had covid. Egg drop soup & certain chinese foods are some of the few things I can actually eat when I'm sick. I ordered from here almost every day & it really got me by. The soup is delicious, comforting, & filling. The chicken & broccoli was delicious, the chicken lo mein was delicious, & today I'm trying the chicken mei fun. From 4 to 5 stars, highly recommend! The hibachi is decent, but the rest of the menu is better.
Service was less than par. The girl working at the counter is rude. She acted as if she does not want to be there. As a first time customer I wanted a minute to look over the menu. She slumped over the counter tapping her pen as if we were bothering her being there. We didn’t leave. The food came out hot. The girl was fairly nice to me when bringing the food to our table but not friendly at all to my partner. The portions were small for the price. It looks good on picture but mostly rice. The vegetables are under the meat. So actually you get a small amount of meat, lots of rice, and a good amount of vegetables. I’m not sure how it would be if you chose not to get vegetables. The taste was good. The chicken was overcooked and chewy. The steak was very tender though. I probably wouldn’t return especially if the rude clerk is at this restaurant.
Happy Garden Chinese restaurant
This restaurant delivers a solid dining experience, offering tasty dishes that satisfy classic cravings. One standout was the chicken fried rice – simple, flavorful, and just what you’d hope for. My spouse was equally pleased with the sesame chicken, which was cooked well and flavorful. One suggestion for improvement would be to add shrimp egg rolls to the menu. While they currently only offer regular egg rolls and spring rolls (which I declined), having more variety could elevate the experience for seafood lovers like myself. Overall, this place is worth a visit for anyone looking for reliable Chinese comfort food. It delivers where it counts – flavor and consistency. Here’s hoping they continue to expand their menu!
I have so many amazing and wonderful experiences with this restaurant. They are open on days when other restaurants are closed. Their food is always fresh and well packaged. The prices are consistent and don't change every month. The quality of the vegetables and proteins used in this restaurant are always on point. I wish they had delivery options, but that doesn't take away from the quality of work they do. I will gladly drive or walk or whatever.I need to do to get their food. PERFECTION is what they serve here!!!
China Garden
I thought it was common knowledge not to use these kind of grill brushes, or any brush with this metal in general. Regardless of how it ended up there, I'd rather the next time I order my favorite food from my favorite place that it NOT have metal pieces in it🙃. Food was super good though right before I chomped down on a piece of metal.
I'm a truck driver for Smith and Jennings construction High Point. I worked the High Point college went in here the other day for the first time for some lunch. Oh my goodness it's the best I've had and they give me tons of food. Couldn't eat it all. Will be back. And tell the world about it. You're missing out if you got need air.
Tops China
I usually get the fried rice with shrimp and fried chicken wings. But this time I decided to try the boneless ribs which I have tried it else where before. But the boneless ribs seemed like it had been reheated to many times because the meat was dry and had a weird flavor.
You can $50 on food and they’ll give you 5 packs of duck sauce and a few packs of soy sauce. Then they get mad when you ask for more but if I’m paying over $50 for food it shouldn’t be any issues giving more sauce. The employees are selfish and rude.
Chang Express Chinese
I got takeout on a whim while in town with my daughter, and we liked it so much she asked me to leave a review! We ordered dumplings, spare ribs, and steamed shrimp with broccoli dinners. The service was fast & friendly, and the food was all top quality. The brown sauce that came with the shrimp & broccoli was amazing!! We’ll come back for sure :)
Ordered general tso with chicken lo mein and chicken wings with fried rice. The general tso was kinda hard and the sauce wasn’t really spicy at all, we got a regular fried rice and it was pretty basic with eggs and onion, had to add soy sauce cause the flavor wasn’t anything crazy. The wings were good as usual and they’re always flavorful. The Lo Mein would probably have been better if it was only had vegetables. The chicken in the Lo Mein was kind of nasty, it had this fake chicken flavor and was very gummy. I also wasn’t sure why there was celery in the Lo mein, I’ve never had that before so that was interesting. Everything other than the chicken needed lots of soy sauce.
Fortune Cookie Chinese Restaurant
The honey chicken with Lo mein goes hard and the wings weren't to bad. Good portions. Very rich but still enjoyable.
Just recently went into the restaurant back in September and they overcharged on a $30 order, charged an extra $7. The guy answered the phone and took the order and overcharged. The lady that's usually at the front always give the same price for the exact same order. I asked why and he couldn't explain and could barely speak any English. I haven't gone back. They never say thank you as if they can't communicate with you or prefer not to. Customer service is horrible. Unchanging and changing the price per usual. They don't respect their customers and yet they put their business in the middle of a black neighborhood and that neighborhood is paying their bills. If you can't respect the customers, then find another location. Go to your neighborhood and put the restaurant there!
VIP Express
The fried rice isn't good at all. The yellow rice is very very dry. They use no oil or spices to flavor the rice. The yellow rice is BAD. You can make a pot of rice at home and it would be better. So today I had the Bourbon Chicken and the white steamed rice and egg roll. The bourbon chicken sauce was good but I really could not taste the chicken. I've eaten a lot of chicken and they way the chicken was cut up I don't think it was chicken. The egg roll was just ok. And if I have to be honest the white steam rice was perfect. I don't know why these Chinese restaurants serve this plastic yellow rice passing it off as fried rice. It's nothing fried about this place fried rice. Trust me. You are going to highly disappointed. Oh I forgot to mention I got 3 wingettes. They are not whole wings. Selling them for a $1 a piece. This is robbery.
The food arrived 10 minutes earlier than given. The presentation was good. The white wasn't like other Japanese restaurants. Overall the food was good. They can lower the minimum purchase to $12.00.
