Peking Chinese Kitchen
I ordered a quart of Shrimp Lo Mein and two shrimp rolls with other items. The Lo Mein tasted old and the shrimp rolls weren’t cooked long enough. The chicken wings were good and the quart of Shrimp Fried Rice was okay today. It’s hit or miss with Peking but it’s the last order for me and my family.
Low-grade Chinese joint. Shrimp-Fried Rice had zero flavor. Friend asked me to pick up an order of fried chicken on a stick (5pc): bland and not worth the $9. Staff unfriendly, restaurant needs updating. Seasonings need to be used.. throwing old rice and unseasoned shrimp in wok and serving is just awful. I won’t return to this location ever again, I hope you choose the same.
Golden China Restaurant
Best Chinese food, I love the sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice, definitely my favorite!
I will forever love this little local Chinese gem, and I will die on this hill defending it. When my family has a night in and we just want to watch a movie and chill this place is our GO-TO for takeout. Food is awesome, servings are great for the price, we just call in our order walk in and pay, easy peasy. The only complaint I will ever have about this place is that it is so good I won’t want to go to any other Chinese restaurant if it isn’t this one ‼️
Golden Wok
We've recently been trying Chinese places all over town to see which I like best, and sadly, this isn't a contender. I ordered a quart of their vegetable lo mein, and the noodles were extremely overcooked, literally soggy, I couldn't even finish a quarter of it 😭. The egg rolls were so-so, but my husband did enjoy the sweet and sour chicken! The pricing was phenomenal, if that's what we're going off of- then 5 stars- but the food wasn't up to par.
Have been ordering from here for years now. Staff always friendly and helpful. Food is awesome! Never had a bad meal from here. My favorite is general tso and their egg rolls but anything you get will be freshly cooled and delicious.
China House
Good mei fun, fried rice, dumplings, stir fry dishes. Hot & sour soup is really good after an extra dash of black vinegar. Quality Americanized Chinese food. They do take their time cooking it sometimes (give them 45 minutes minimum) but I don't mind waiting for decent food and counter staff is always friendly. Compared to the competition, prices are good and they aren't afraid to put spice in the food. Their dishes marked hot actually have a little kick – which is a plus. As to atmosphere? It's a take out joint not a place to take your prom date. Kitchen is visible from the counter and looks clean and tidy enough to me. We've hit them up a couple of times the last few months and it's been consistently good. Recommend. Ain't much else in the Cove anyway.
Not a place to dine in if you are looking for romance or a night out. HOWEVER! The take out is perfect. The dumplings were exceptional, fresh and a good serving. I ordered egg drop soup and it was spot on. No pets or carrots- exactly how I had hoped. I only ordered appetizers to take home and eat since it was late for a big meal. But I'm sure to give them a try. It is a family run business. Supporting small local businesses in Walnut cove.
Panda Express
I never thought I’d have to write a review like this, but my experience at Panda Express (Winston-Salem location) was absolutely unacceptable. I ordered the Super Greens, and to my shock and disgust, I found a fully cooked grasshopper mixed in with the vegetables. This wasn’t a small insect—this was a large, noticeable bug that should have never made it past quality control. I immediately lost my appetite and was completely disturbed by what I saw. Food safety should be the top priority of any restaurant, and the fact that something like this ended up in my meal is beyond alarming. It raises serious concerns about how their ingredients are cleaned and handled. I have reported this to the local health department, and I strongly urge management to take this issue seriously. I also want others to be aware of this incident, because finding a foreign object—especially something as unsanitary as an insect—in food is completely unacceptable. Panda Express needs to step up their food safety practices immediately. I will never eat here again unless I see clear evidence that they have improved their standards. If you care about cleanliness and food safety, think twice before eating here.
Order to go. And I’m shocked at the portions. Literally I had four broccoli and a little bit of the super greens. Feel like they were truly slacking today. I have been to this location multiple times and it’s never been this horrible.
East China Restaurant
I have to say, this was a profoundly disappointing meal. There were only two highlights in the whole experience: the flavor and crispy texture of the chicken with lo mein and the pork egg roll. The dish I got was Mongolian beef. To start with, it was nothing but onions and a few dried (inedible) chilis. As you can see from my picture, it is mostly white and green onions. There were some bamboo shoots in there, but not that many, and they had been cooked too long, as they were as soft as the onions, if not softer. The seasoning on the dish was nothing like I experienced before, and that is, unfortunately, not a compliment. It tasted of Asian BBQ sauce and ketchup? The flavor was also so light that the incredible amount of onions dominated the dish. I also got fried rice with my dish, and it was just yellow rice with no vegetables or protein. Another disappointment. The spring rolls were also highly disappointing. They came with the “combo” of the two dishes we got, so I understand they are free, but if you are going to serve them, please ensure that they have filling and are an addition and not a detraction from the dish. The spring rolls were filled with next to nothing, mostly the fried dough used to wrap them. My partner got Lo Mein and General Tso’s chicken, and the flavor and crispiness of the chicken were incredible. However, her Lo Mein was kinda tough and definitely under seasoned, as it had no flavor, and what a shame, as the sauce from the chicken was delicious. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I always save my leftover Chinese food for another day, but these went straight into the trash after we consumed the only delicious items, the General Tso’s chicken and the one pork egg roll.
If I could give 10 stars, I would! I went here for the 1st time on lunch break around 11 and showed the nice sweet lady working the register, a pic of a meal they sell. She knew exactly what it is and made it spicy for me! The shrimp lo mein and general tso chicken was SOOOOO GOOD OMG! It was fresh, the chicken was crispy how I like it and the sauce was the bomb! I didnt have to add soy or duck sauce, it was so good! Thank you for your great customer service, highly recommend this!
Magnolia Wok
We decided to go to Magnolia Wok during this visit for Chinese food. We’ve been here a few times before and we love how much food we get with your order. Since we knew what to expect we decided to get one plate and split it. The person taking the order was nice and even confirmed our order with us prior to us paying. The person making the plates told us it would be a small wait because they wanted to give us fresh chicken instead of the little bit of chicken that had been sitting, which we thought was so thoughtful! The wait wasn’t long and we ordered the orange chicken with lo mein, everything was fresh and really good. Even after splitting the plate between the two of us we were still able to get seconds should we want it. The area was little crowded as the location is in the food court of the mall but the place itself wasn’t bad and they were moving their line right along. 10/10
The sesame chicken was good, the teriyaki chicken was good, but the bourbon chicken was dry. The wings had been refried and so was th egg rolls. Will go again but earlier in the day like when they first open
Yummy Cuisine
One of the best General Tso chicken I’ve ever had! Kung po and Chicken Lo Mein also delicious! You get free soda with lunch orders. Everything is cooked fresh. Friendly and quick service.
It was Christmas night, and as I would always do since my divorce, and that is to have a Chinese dinner. They offered Hibachi, which is not normally sold at Chinese restaurants, so I tried it. I didn't finish it....I will not say anything else. I will not be returning.
Golden Crown Restaurant
You won't be disappointed when you come. The food is fresh and they keep it coming. By far the best Chinese buffet in the area! They have shrimp for days, different wings, etc, and a friendly staff. It's my go to as far as Chinese! I've been here four times in the last month and a half and it's always consistent.
Someone needs to be real about this. I heard so much hype about this place opening again. It's actually very bland. Selection is lack-luster. No variety and very basic choices. No background music or anything for "atmosphere". Just a large room full of tables and chairs on either side of a very small buffet area. The general tao chicken looked like it had zero seasoning (it was WHITE!) the sweet-and-sour sauce was red in the pan but yellow on the plate. The truth can't be judgemental. The truth is just the truth.
Golden Dragon Restaurant
The food is awesome.. I liked my food and I’m not really big on Asian food, but the person with me loves Asian food and eats at all kinds of places and says this is the best lo mein - ever!!! I had sweet n sour chicken… it was yummy - hot, fresh, and delicious with very nice portions. Try it!!! I’m glad I did! The guy working the counter (Charles) was awesome too ☺️
We were excited to try the food here. We called for take out, and the guy that took our order was less than friendly, even in person. The portion sizes were big and the food was hot, but it tasted horrible. I got the fried pork wontons and the sweet and sour pork. The wontons were over cooked and the meat tasted like liver. The pork had a really weird texture and it had way too much breading. Hubby got the beef cheesesteak egg roll and said it had the texture and tasted like beef fat. His lo mein was decent.
Yummy House
Slammin. The young lady at the register was as nice as can be, helpful and patient. She gave us some really good recommends as to what to order… The prices are great! I tried the hibachi (drink included!) + an order of full size chicken wings (so crispy) no sauce, just house seasoning. Man that food was good! And we were given enough to eat off for another meal or two… “Yummy” is right
Let me be clear… I have experienced tragic food occurrences with bad taste, lack of service, etc. and in my 37 years have NEVER WRITTEN A REVIEW… however, this is inexcusable behavior I experienced at the Yummy House. For one, I ordered a 10 piece chicken wings PLAIN with the shaker on my chicken and fries… and somehow the woman at the front heard lemon pepper wings… my receipt even said plain and she added the lemon pepper herself I don’t know… I get all the way home and find out so this was my fault… however, she refused to refund me by initially begging me to keep my food… and I also explained to her that I also want a refund because the price was incorrect on the menu as well… she voided my prefer and literally “shood” me out of her establishment by waving her hand. Although my first experience was a 5-star (the food is good so I will be objective)… the second one is a 1-star based on the sheer rudeness and disrespect… I will not be back. Please proceed with caution and order in person because there is an obvious language barrier here.
Little China Restaurant
First time eating here and it was great. Ordered rib tips and shrimp fried rice. It was hot, fresh and flavorful. I would definitely go back.
The food is delicious! It’s our go to for Chinese food in Florence. Everyone there is super kind and helpful. The restaurant itself is not fancy but it’s more of a take out restaurant.
