Chinese Kitchen at H-E-B
Food is phenomenal they always busy and long lines but it’s worth because the food is coming always fresh and excellent costumer service thank you.
I went there because a friend recommended the place saying it was really good, tried it out for the first time and it was amazingly good! The service was also very good! Abril helped me out telling me how to order since it was my first time and she was really nice and polite! Definitely going back in the future!
P.F. Chang's
The staff was kind, the restaurant was a vibe and man, the food was so good!!!! I tried the cucumber salad- very flavorful (but still very refreshing!) The veggie crispy spring rolls - crisped to perfection! The lettuce wraps- so good, it was completely eaten before I could get a pic! Definitely my fave appetizer of the night! 10/10 highly recommend! As a plant based girlie, I tried the fried rice (without egg/ green onion). I did add some of the sesame sauce from the cucumber salad on top, which made it chefs kiss to the power of 2! This was my first time here and I’m obsessed. For 3 people, 4 appetizers, 3 drinks, 3 entrees, and 2 soups, it was $101! That’s not bad pricing at all!! (Yea, we’re big backs)
The food was good as usual, this is more about the impeccable service. I always appreciate an attentive server. We had: 1. Pork dumplings 2. Artichokes 3. Orange chicken 4. Fried shrimp 5. White rice
Dragon House
Stopped by today for the 1st time to give this place a try. Employees were friendly and helpful. The servings were very generous and the prices were excellent. We enjoyed our food and the establishment. We will definitely be back.
Good customer service. The food was good. Hot. There was a lot of food to choose from. All the trays were food. Lobby was cleaned. There's free soup and fruit. The place just needed a little bit of more lighting inside. Parking lot is not too big. A really good and useful and important thing is that it has outlets to charge ur electronics.
China Cafe
I’m not a buffet guy! Usually too messy, chaotic, and just not my thing. But I got invited to a graduation luncheon at China Cafe and ended up really enjoying it. This buffet was much cleaner and more organized than most I’ve been to. The food? Solid. The tonkatsu was crispy and flavorful, and the grilled meats—chicken teriyaki, BBQ pork, and pork ribs—were absolutely on point. I skipped the rice (protein real estate is precious) and loaded up on all the good stuff. Our waitress was incredible! She handled our large party solo, kept everything running smoothly, and never missed a beat. Fair play to her! Overall, a pleasant experience. If you like buffets—or even if you usually don’t—China Cafe is worth checking out.
This food was really amazing !! It was super tasty nice and hot and the dessert option was fantastic I definitely recommend this and their service is amazing too
Panda Express
I always order ahead or go through the drive thru it's quicker, and if you can manage to pick up your order via drive thru, I'd recommend that! Other than that, great food great service (slower inside) 🙄 but that's it's only downfall. I was 15 minutes late picking up my food and it was still hot, so that gets 5 stars in my book! Photo (my togo order properly secure and wrapped!)
Loved the Cub reference in the menu. The food was fresh, the staff was really polite. We order the bowl meals and it was the perfect size without been too much. The rangoons were really crispy. While the employee was cleaning the table next to us, she asked us how everything was doing, and I asked for a lid and they brought it over along with a bag for me. The restaurant is really nice, and new and fancy. It also has drive thru. And they welcome you as soon as you enter.
Kokito Chinese Food and Sushi
Been wanting to try this place out since it's close to my apartment. Pretty good! Service was fast. They serve the food for you at the warmers. The noodles have a garlicy buttery flavor. Different from most noodles from places like this. The rice and noodles taste pretty similar, it's a matter of preference in texture. I got a plate with orange chicken and broccoli beef. Loved the texture of the meat. It had a bite to it and wasn't gooey at all. The price isn't too bad for the amount of food you get but keep in mind, there's no fountain drinks so you'd have to buy a bottle/can. I love refills so that was the only thing I would've liked different. Can't wait to try the sushi!
Small and cozy, food portions were generous and fresh. Was very impressed. And that’s cause we stopped by 30min before closing and they were still very accommodating 🤗
Lotus Inn Restaurant
Went to Lotus as soon as they opened was craving beef broccoli and my wife was craving pati. The serves was amazing as soon as we sat down they took our drink order. The outside is deceiving thought the inside was going to look terrible but looked clean and well kept. When we ordered our food it didn't take long to receive it. We also ordered an appetizer of shrimp puffs which my wife said tasted good. I received an egg drop soup which was also good. When we get our main dishes they were nice and hot. My wife said she loved the taste of the pati and I also loved the beef broccoli. Over all loved our food and service here would recommend trying it if you are skeptical.
Valley people! After a long wait and no sign of Lotus opening up again I found a replacement! The plate I would get at lotus is the same quality flavor and texture as is the new place. It is delicious you should all try it. Although the prices are a bit more because they don't have specials like lotus.
Chopstix #1
My family and I came to try something new and I've got to say, this is an amazing place. Firstly, the atmosphere was very calm and it was fresh inside. It felt cozy and I would recommend to come here if you like to enjoy yourself and the experience of the place. Secondly, the service was just like the atmosphere. Calm and collected. I know different people have different preferences but our waiter, Bobby, was very calm and it really reflected our experience. He wasnt overbearing and made sure to quickly and effectively serve us. 🤗 And last but definitely not least, the food. We wanted to try some new things so we got a few different dishes. House Special Lo Mein: My dad and I got this and we ended up having everyone at our table loving it. My mom and sister loved it so much that they kept on stealing some from our plates. And the portions for this dish was SO MUCH. All 4 of us were only able to finish 1 Lo Mein plate with how much they gave us. Portions definitely reflect the price. All of my family loved this the most and we plan to get it again next time around. We also got Sweet and Sour chicken, Kung Pao Triple delight, and General Tao for main dishes. All of these were amazing, but Lo Mein was definitely the best. And pricing was pretty high but only because we got so much food. I'd say it was pretty fair pricing!! Overall, would go again and again. I will definitely recommend. 👍
Went to chopstix in Edinburg with my bf yesterday because we’ve had good experiences in the past but they gave us egg drop soup with moldy egg. We asked if we could get a discount of some sort and the person in charge said they could only take off our drinks (which they didn’t) and still paid full price for this obviously disgusting and unsanitary food. I NEVER had a horrible experience until now, and I’m definitely never coming back. I hope this place closes down for health code violations one day.
Dai Tung Chinese Restaurant
Well, this happened at the Dai Tung on Nolana in McAllen. I ordered this on Sunday and didn’t notice these little guys until all the food was gone! I remember this happened at the Dai Tung in Mission and now it’s happened here. I loved going to the McAllen location because I thought the food quality was better than the other location. Won’t be going back for sure. I spoke to one manager but nothing came out of it; they asked for the pictures but nothing was done. I called this morning to speak to the manager and they said he was working and was “busy”. I said I’d call in 20 min. Decided to go in person and the manager I spoke to was not there. The woman who we spoke to admitted that sometimes the produce can have worms and it ends up in the food. First she said that she would give us a credit for next time; we refused since obviously we are not going to come back. Then she only wanted to refund for one plate; the worms were in all the food! We ordered beef broccoli, shrimp and veggie noodles, two orders of eggrolls, soup, orange chicken and general tso chicken. They refuse to give us a refund for the $80 bucks we spent for worms to be included in our food! In a time where everyone is experiencing financial strain to just exist, the kind/easy thing to do was give us a full refund. They have lost us, our family and friends as customers. For sure will call the health inspector, local new stations, and we will make this as public as possible!
My wife and I love Dai Tung, we usually go to the one in Mission since we have had some mishaps in the past here. We ordered take out, and I found a hair in my plate. I called to let them know and they offered to replace the meal. I told them I didn’t want it replaced today because I lost my appetite, and I just wanted a refund for my plate. He said I needed to take the food back in order to get a refund, but I didn’t want to take it because it’s inconvenient for me to go all the way back. I asked if I could get a refund for the whole meal if I took it all back since all the food was going to be cold and for having to take the plate back for proof and they got upset. They insisted they needed to see the hair so I sent them a pic and the conversation is below in the picture. Terrible customer service. If you plan to do take out make sure to check the plates there or be prepared to prove their lack of cleanliness by returning the plate. We certainly will not be returning or ordering taking out from here.
LINS GRAND BUFFET -McALLEN
Absolutely the best Chinese buffet open in the valley. They offer a salad bar, sushi bar, Mongolian grill, and of course the buffet rows. You have a little bit of everything, Chinese, American, Mexican…etc to comfort foods and maybe outside of comfort foods to try. Some items can be hit or miss, but for the majority of the buffet the quality is superb. Staff is always friendly and attentive. This is my second time going this week. We went before closing and it was so nice of them to let us grab a bite after a long day. 10/10 would recommend.
Our first time here. You pay at entry. They had a big lunch time. All the.food was hot and fresh. I like all the variety of children. Their jalapeno checking was my favorite. My wife liked that they had shrimp in a lot of dishes. Great service. The line was kept clean. They even had enchiladas. They were OK. The brisket was a surprise. Very tender. Well worth a visit.
Quick Wok
Great food, quality customer service and excellent atmosphere. Love all their dishes. The prices are amazing you do not eat anywhere for $10 anymore. Quick Wok has been serving the best Chinese food for over 20 years! Love you guys. Keep it up.
I've visited Quick Wok for many years and I've always loved it. I had written a review before about how much I loved this restaurant but you can only have one Google review at a time. Sadly, the last few months I find that the food has not been a great as it used to be. The staff is great and the restaurant is always clean. Those two things have not changed at all, they're great. The food itself is where they have slipped way down. Today I ordered my usual, General Tso chicken with a side of crab puffs. The chicken seemed under cooked, I don't know if it was rushed. I order a side of the General Tso sauce because I like to add it to the rice but today the chicken was swimming in the sauce, I suspect to try to hide the quality of the food. The crab puffs seemed under cooked as well and stale at the same time. I truly hope the quality of the food can be restored to what it used to be because I can't think of another restaurant who made Chinese food as tasty as Quick Wok did.
Golden China Restaurant
UPDATE on 1-2-2025. This little family-run place has upped its game since our last visit in 2023. We got there right when they opened, and the food was fresh and very good. General Tsos was crunchy and delicious. Broccoli beef was good. Chicken with Chinese veggies was excellent. Fried rice and noodles were both very well prepared. Outstanding fruit - watermelon, bananas, grapefruit. Wow, this place is back in our good graces after a couple of disappointing visits. 2023 Review (from 7-6-2023) The emphasis here is quantity, not quality. Lots to eat, but nothing really memorable and not much flavor. Three of us ate: food was bland and not at proper temperature (lukewarm), General Tsos was mostly breading (very tough / hard) with very little chicken. Sweet & sour sauce had an off taste. Sushi had tiny portions of mystery fish. Noodles were overly moist and fishy tasting. Jalapeno chicken had no flavor to it.
Great food for decent price.. hot fresh good
