Mei Mei Chinese Restaurant
Well I use to love this place and would drive 50 miles each way just for lunch after moving away from the area. The change in ownership the food quality went down hill and the customer service even further down. Just tried to go and take my family and was greeted at the door asking if we did an order a head. We stated no ww wanted to dine in (50 miles from home) she said there's a $2 pee person table charge, i couldn't believe it I am not in Europe (common pratice there) what is this nonsense?! I sure miss the old owners.
We ordered two orders of Chicken Lo Mein, 1 pt size Chicken Fried Rice, and 1 order of 2 Egg Rolls and 8 wontons (very reasonable price on those) I highly recommend the Lo Mein. It was very delicious and had lots of carmelized onion. The fried rice had diced egg, green onion, and bits of chicken and soy sauce mixed in and lightly fried. The egg rolls are a must. As my son called them, “Big Beefy Boys!” No beef in them though lol. The lady who owns it assisted us. She was very kind and helpful as we were deciding what to order. I forgot to order pop and instead of running my credit card, she gave us one of them for free! Now that’s good customer service! Also made us feel very welcomed and chatted with us a bit.
Wong's Kitchen
It's a small take out joint. Very nice people. I really like the spring rolls. It's fresh, the pork and shrimp are tasty, it fills you up without making you heavy. Perfect for lunch. I ask for the cilantro to be removed. They have two sauces you can order, a dark garlic sauce and a sweet chili pepper sauce. You can have mild heat (1) or spicy heat (10). I always go for an 8 and find it just right. It has heat but it doesn't make me need to drink milk or anything lol. I really enjoyed the food I've had, but the spring rolls are my go to
It's a take out place. The food is always fresh and flavorful and the service is excellent. So glad to see this location staying in business.
HoHo Gourmet
I've been coming to HoHo Gourmet since I was in diapers. Best Chinese food restaurant in Minnesota. The chicken fried rice here is simply unmatched. I usually get the chicken fried rice but this time I had the four Treasure with white rice, cream cheese wontons, and a pork egg roll. All delicious. Consistently amazing staff, uniquely delicious food, reasonable prices, and the kind of place you'll return to for decades. They have a decent buffet as well. If it's your first time, the chicken fried rice is a must. The rest of the menu is just as good too and worth exploring on future visits. Hard to condense 30+ years of eating here into a short review. Fantastic place!
Decent, Americanized Chinese food. Pork friend rice was absolutely delicious. . Egg rolls good. We ordered the sesame chicken off a recommendation from another review. We didn’t care for the flavor of the sesame chicken…it wasn’t bad, but just had a unique, smokey flavor that was different than the usual. Very attentive service and the restaurant seemed very clean and organized. We enjoyed our dinner
Tea House St. Paul
I read the reviews so I'm not sure what happened with my food, but my chicken wings were overcooked and frankly didn't even look like wings. The fried rice was saturated in soy sauce with barely any shrimp in it although I got the combination fried rice. I'm so disappointed. Not sure I'd try them again.
This place is great for Chinese food and has easily become one of my favorite Chinese-American Restaurants. Everything here is priced fairly (roughly
Peking Cafe
Everyone was so friendly! Regulars left and right and it was clear this place is a pillar in S St. Paul. I got the wonton soup and the combo #2. Will absolutely be back! Super cheap and filling!
We didn't know what to expect when we visited Peking Cafe on our travels. It's a very unassuming little restaurant. The atmosphere is not modern and looks a bit rough. The many over patrons seated inside told me this was a trusted place for good food. Our server was timely and attentive, but not overly friendly. Our food arrived quickly and received a glowing review from most of our family of 5.
Mei Wei
I've always gotten great food from Mei Wei over the years. Good service and affordable. I enjoy all the vegetables. The fried rice just need some egg. I highly recommend them.
Easy, simple, and the food is excellent. In fact, I only order Triple Delight for the past few years because I absolutely love the way they prepare it. Even the wife trends that way nowadays. These meals are enough for 2 separate meals for us each so we love it. We only do take out at Mei Wei...it's not really a dine in locale. Great Chinese food though. Well worth it.
CHINA WOK
I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants in the Twin Cities, and I am so glad that we've got the best one in our back yard. The food tastes fresh and delicious, the staff is friendly and efficient. If I could pump their black pepper chicken directly into my veins, I would.
The place is always clean and service is efficient. Have ordered a multitude of items from the menu, and gotta say, this place has some of the most delicious dishes, never disappointed... plus you can add your own amount condiments and they always send you off with a handful of tasty candies! 😁
China Panda
People, including my family, usually order food for take-out, but this time we ate in the air conditioned restaurant. It's simple and clean, and the food comes out fast & hot. We weren't bothered by the steady stream of people coming in to pick up their to-go orders. The food looks better and is more appetizing on plates and small platters. This time we had beef pepper steak, beef with vegetables and the Pu Pu platter. Everything cooked perfectly, including the chicken. This place is an asset to the community. Their food/service is fast and consistently good.
Every time I go there they treat me great. Always have fresh great food. Strongly recommend.
China Taste
I've been putting off going here even though others in the area have recommended it, as I've always had my cravings on Mondays when they are not open. I was BEYOND happy to not be disappointed! I'm 40 weeks pregnant and this hole in the wall far surpassed our expectations and absolutely blew our minds with the delicious flavors. It's a very small interior but they absolutely make it work and know exactly what they are doing. I will never complain that our area doesn't have a great Chinese food restaurant to frequent because I'm definitely going back here time and time again! Well worth the 30 minute drive!
Loved the food! First time ordering here yesterday and the food was fast and delicious. Hot and sour soup actually has a kick! It's been so long since I've enjoyed a genuinely good Hot and Sour soup!
Cold Spring Phoenix Too
Reasonable wait times for food to be made fresh to order. Portion sizes are great. Prices are also reasonable for the amount of food. 10/10 will come back.
Great food as always, but the owners son wasn't the greatest with customer service. He got angry with me about my home address because I couldn't remember and he told me to call him back. He's very short with people so this needs to be addressed. This is a new area for me so I'm not impressed with how I was treated.
China One
Ordered out twice so far and been ready when I arrived and I am staying right down the road. The food was good, a little lacking in flavor but, both times it was consistent and made fresh. Had the pork with vegs w/fried rice and spring rolls. Not sure if its the best Chinese in town but its been consistent and the portion to price is ok, not great but, you won't be hungry when you are done. Recommend you at least try it. I got take out, the eating area looks a little run down, why 3/5 on atmosphere, don't know that I would eat in but, to each their own.
I've yet to be mildy dissapointed with anything I've ever ordered here. The food is always fresh, hot and bombarded with flavors! Perfect salt levels, robust ingredients make for a truly umami experience! Keep up the good work! (If you appreciate a dish with a enjoyable amount of KICK, I recommend the Spicy Singapore Mei Fun with EXTRAAAA spice!)
Garden Wok
So normally I don’t post reviews ever. But I just can’t believe that this establishment would lose a regular customer over a $10 entree. I don’t live close by and bought some food that I didn’t get a chance to eat right away. On the next day I dumped the whole container upside down into a plate to warm up and found a dead fly at the bottom of the food. So I called the restaurant hoping they could just make me a new one or credit me the next time I go into town but they simply told me no they could not help me due to the fact it was not eaten the same day it was purchased. It was literally not even 24 hours ago. I was just speechless.
We've been getting food from Garden Wok for years. As a repeat customer, I didn't realize I had never left a review. The food and service have been awesome. The price is decent for the quality. My husband's favorite is sweet and sour pork, and I love the kung pao chicken. We also love the sesame chicken, egg drop soup, wonton, Singapore mei fun, young jewel fried rice, etc. We live fairly close to Garden Wok, and ordering online is convenient. I highly recommend Garden Wok!
