Silver Moon Chinese Food
I loved the red bean paste sesame ball. It was crispy, gooey, and not too oily. The steamed rice in a lotus leaf was good. The hot, spicy prawn with garlic sauce was over-breaded and not spicy or flavorful. The kung pao shrimp had some tasty shrimp, but the vegetables lacked flavor and were extremely soggy. The sauce, once again, wasn't any good. Maybe it was a bad day because the other reviews seemed good.
I have driven past this place hundreds of times and finally decided to give it a visit. When I entered it looked a little dated, but was greater right away and had my order taken. It wasn't too busy so the whole process was pretty quick. They did have areas to sit and eat but I took my food to go. I ordered the Chow mein, Szechuan chicken, Teriyaki chicken with the sauce, a Pepsi and lastly you egg roll. When I arrived home I ate the food and was pleasantly delighted. I could tell the food was there and ready for a bit, but it still tasted delicious and would have to come a busier time to get some fresher versions. All the food tasted great and it only came out to about $15. Overall a great deal and good tasting food from a local stop. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick and delicious bite in the area. Parking is a little hard so you might have to park a little away if it's busy.
Sonoma Happy Garden
We were looking for take out. Didn’t have to go far to get Chinese food. Was it the best I’ve ever had….. no, but it was clean and fresh. Knowing things are costing us a load more …2 large containers and small rice $40 plus. Forgot to ask if there is MSG… I will find out later tonight if my legs start to hurt…. Will revise review to let you know.
My husband and I had dinner there, the food was fresh and just right. They were very friendly! The seasoning was light and everything we ordered was very tasty. I specifically liked the pork buns!
Great China
Small basic Chinese restaurant serving the dishes you'd expect. Went mid-day on a Saturday and it was empty but for takeout pick-ups. Restaurant was clean but not obsessively so. Service was very speedy! Food quality was excellent. Clean flavors with each distinct element of a given dish able to be identified. That's pretty rare these days. Their velveting technique is excellent, giving the meats a wonderful texture. Char siu is on point. Veges crunchy and not overcooked. Both wor won ton and hot and sour soups were exceptional. A highlight in the Santa Rosa Chinese food scene!
Great wonton soup. And the only place I know where you can get the old fashioned chow mein with the crunchy noodles, I don't mean pan fried, I mean those tan crunchy noodles you often see on salad bars, see photo attached. Years ago we use to get it at the China kitchen on Mendocino Ave. missed for years until I found this place.
Huna Kitchen
The food is amazing, i come here at least once a week on my way to work. I love the chicken fried rice and chow mein
Food decent. prices and servings good. However, cashier was watching porn; this was about 2 years ago
China Garden Restaurant
We enjoy going there for lunch when we are out of food at home. The lunch price is reasonable and the portion is large enough for two meals. I like snow peas with beef and my spouse likes snow peas with chicken. The food is always piping hot when they bring it to us. It comes with a cup of soup and it is tasty as well. No complain about the service if you tip a fair amount.
Great spot for Chinese near Oliver's Market. Friendly staff. Dine in or take out. Good for larger groups.
Ting Hau
Overall extremely please with everything. Mostly the freshness of the dish was really great. It's as though it were almost cooked from scratch. Hard to believe but they really know what they are doing. I would love to return and try more dishes.
I would say Ting Hau is an accredited Chinese food restaurant. I enjoyed the interior of the restaurant. I also liked how busy this place can be. I had talked to the waitress and she said her family has owned the business in Sonoma county for 24 years, since the 90s! They have obviously grown their community and I love to see it. I enjoyed their rice and chow mein very much! I also liked their soups. I had their wonton and hot sauce soup. Their shrimp and veggies were pretty good too. I didn’t really like the red sauce that comes with the veggie rolls. The prices matched the portions. Nice and clean bathrooms. This restaurant is located in downtown Santa Rosa right next to Russian Brewing Company and a retail store and across the street from Barnes and Noble and an optical office. There’s parking in front of the restaurant as well as behind the restaurant. You do have to pay for the meter for both places. There is a parking garage as well behind the restaurant and across the street that the first hour is free at and ¢.75 after. I would recommend to try at least once!
Super Buffet
Great good and great selection, always fresh and hot, you never see any selection sitting too long or stale. Large selection of a variety of Chinese and American cuisine, desert, soup and beverages.
This buffet has remained very consistent through the years. My wife and I used to frequent the establishment earlier in our marriage, during our college years, as a cool little spot to do homework while having a nice date. The food was always delicious and hasn't changed a bit. I would recommend this place to anyone who hasn't tried it yet. Also, it is very reasonably priced for what you are getting. God bless!
China Star
I visit many Chinese restaurants since I spend a lot of time in the field. This one was great. Lunch special was 13.06 out the doors for a Mongolian chicken which was very tasty. Came with sweet and sour soup, white rice and crab rangoon. Food was excellent for the price. I only one plate so far so other plates could prove me wrong on the food but I doubt it.
Service was amazing, but nothing special about food. Very little flavor. Would be nice if they served water without lemon, especially when asked.
O & C China Bistro
I was passing through Sebastopol with a friend and excited to check out the bistro. I’m vegetarian and there was a nice selection of offerings for me. The service was friendly and extremely efficient. The only disappointment was there was a photo of Sebastopol crispy tofu and eggplant that looked delicious on the menu. In the picture, there were long strips of dry crispy tofu slices. It’s just a mouthwatering photo and I was excited to try it. However, when I got the dish, it was cubes of tofu cooked into the gooey sauce, so it wasn’t crispy at all. It would be nice if they changed the photo or alerted people that you weren’t actually getting crispy tofu like in the picture! Aside than that, it was a great experience and a quaint restaurant with a lovely wait staff!
Very disappointed overall. The walnut prawns were tasty - the only thing we liked. The vegetable chow mein has an awful flavor - it's supposed to be - we want it to be - the ultimate comfort food...may throw 90% of it in the compost bin. The basil chicken sauce tasted similar to the chow mein, but with basil. The seaweed salad portion was small but it was fairly good.
China Village
The food was good better than other Chinese restaurants. 3 1/2 stars. I have been to this restaurant a few times and will go back until I find my favorite Chinese restaurant. This can't be the best Chinese food place in Santa Rosa or could it? I need to do more research, and my rating might change.
In Santa Rosa and noticed the China Village Restaurant, where Rita's Chinese Restaurant used to be. I was going to stop at Gary Chew's Chinese Restaurant but I always have a hard time parking my truck in the downtown area, so the Chinese Village is it. What a great decision, the food was amazing, cooked perfectly, and delivered piping hot. The service was just as amazing, as was the cost. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
ABC
Love this place! I eat here multiple times a week they are always friendly and the food is always amazing! Their prices are not that high and they have plenty of food!

Boiling Bowl
Wow what a nice find tucked away in this little strip mall. We have not found any Chinese restaurants we really thought highly of but boiling pot is really trying hard to prove itself. We had pot stickers which were meaty and large plus pork shumai and it was also very nice and large. Really nice quality and size. Then we ordered the house special shredded beef and the shrimp with walnuts and both were fresh and I think high quality for Chinese restaurants. We also had the house special fried rice to share which was so good as well. In the end we ordered too much food because the portions were generous! So good and fresh. But we have a second dinner from the take home boxes.
Very surprised this place has authentic Chinese cuisine. I ordered beef chow fun, fried green beans and seafood hotpot last night, 干炒牛河粉,干煸四季豆角,非常地道, very authentic which I haven’t tasted for years…strong recommend this place; the service is great, we paid by card but forgot to take it back, the young server even chased to the parking lot returned to us… so we came back for lunch in the very next day. Great food and awesome service
