Best food ever. I have been having dinner at least once a month for 10 years and never disappointed...

The food was okay, hot and fresh. The prices were very good. Unfortunately, a step below Golden Palace (Cupertino) and Gourmet House (Fremont) in food quality.

4 stars on serv and atmosphere...no lunch seating and counter service...long waits on orders...but the food kills!!! Amazing flavors, fresh, really is delicious. Just that alone trumps the lower scores for an overall 5 star. Must try place and the price is right. Peking Ribs and thank you.

This is an order to go restaurant, no dine in. As you walk in, the atmosphere is calm, clean, and open. One service line to order. The wait for our order was not too long. We ordered crab rangoon that were nice and crispy. A combination plate of chow mein, orange chicken and Mongolian bbq. Walnut shrimp. The plate is packed with food. The flavor is good. The Mongolian bbq was more on the spicy side for my liking, and the orange chicken was a bit dry on the marinade. The chow mein was pretty bland. I think I only went there for Walnut shrimp which were crispy and saucy nice portion.

It's been about 15 years since I've been to golden Buddha, now I remember why I stopped going. $125 for day old pork fried rice, rubber Mongolian beef, okay lemon chicken, the soggiest sweet and sour pork and decent sesame balls. 5 plates of takeout for $125. Never go there again. Trash.

Very good food. Very big portion. Great service.

My first time to enter this to go/pick up dim sum place. The atmosphere is not warm or welcoming so you can easily see that decor/ atmosphere is not deemed important. Since it is pickup only, I assume this is why no importance is given to looks as customers will not be eating in. I bought: shrimp fry ball( 2 for $4.50), 3 fried sesame balls($4.25), fried shrimp tofu(3 for $4.50), and a sticky rice lotus leaf($4.50). I immediately ate the 2 shrimp fry balls. It was lukewarm but delicious. I couldn't help myself and ate a fried shrimp tofu: delicious. I will eat the sesame balls, sticky rice and 2 shrimp tofu this evening. You might be daunted by the unattractive look and decor of this business but their strength lies in the taste of their food. I'm not a gourmand in dim sum. I'm more of a plebeian taste and this dim sum tastes good. The presentation and lighting in the display counters could be improved so the customer can clearly see what is available and how it looks. You should come at least once so you can taste for yourself whether the dim sum suits your palate.

First time visiting this place. Simple set up and everything works efficiently for the takeaways. Love the efficiency and convenience

East Lake Chinese Restaurant and Dim Sum (東湖海鮮酒家) 0

One of the best Chinese restaurants in this area of San Jose. On the pricey side for Chinese food though, which as you know is generally cheap. We went on a week day so they didn’t have the lunch dim sum carts rolling. I think they do on weekends. But you can order dim sum through the waiter. The wet chow fun is yummy. Soft noodles, a decent amount of beef, and tasty gravy. Jin mein is crispy chow mein, and if you’ve never had it, I recommend to try of you like texture in your food. I mentioned dim sum so at least try the ha how (shrimp dumpling) and shu mai (pork dumpling). They’re big and plump. Jook (aka congee) is very good and you MUST get the Chinese donut (aka fried bread) to pair with it! I do NOT recommend the soup dumplings (aka XLB). They are terrible.

I was on the way to a different place and found dimsum! The rice rolls stood out the most and the onion pancake! Loved the shrimp and eggplant, tripe and the chicken feet!

Best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. We drove from Central valley to try this restaurant. Every was perfect. Service was amazing and off course so was the food. But what really nice was the owner Lloyd came out to greet us and even sat with us and had a little chat with my family. We are definitely going back to enjoy this amazing place. Thanks Lloyd 👍 😊

Soft Salt Pepper Squid and Orange Chicken sauce on side are great, so is Less salty vegetable chow mein. Good choice of beers n soft drinks

Best egg rolls and fried chicken!!! Not the cheapest but certainly the tastiest. Not only is this place great for small orders, but their catering platters are huge and delicious. The parking lot is always full right in front of their store, but the back row has plenty of parking and that’s where I like to park. If you ordered lots of trays, then be prepared to make several trips to the car. Every time I go in for a few items, I end up leaving with trays of food for the family.

King Eggroll is thriving! I've coming here for a long time, so this review is long overdue. We ordered: 1 combo special $13.25, half fried rice, half chow mein, kung pao chicken, salt and pepper chicken 2 egg roll $1.90 ea 2 fried chicken $1.70 ea 1 shrimp ball $2.25 ea Staff is friendly. $10 min charge for credit card purchases. Egg rolls are still top tier. Great for catering and parties. Easy parking in the lot. I prefer the Lundy location over the Story one. Very limited seating to dine in and eat inside.

We went there for dinner. It is a clean and nice place. We ordered momos and got a quick service. Momos were tasty. Then we tried noodles. It was costly for the serving size. The crepe we ordered was also costly. Overall tasty food but overpriced for portion size.

Good good good. The dumplings are juicy and delicious. The beef noodle broth is tasty as well as the minced chicken. The noodles themselves are okay. The green onion pancake is crispy fried to satisfaction. I like ordering a few small things so this place is great. Good spot. The Dan Dan noodle I was absolutely not a fan of. Not for me.

Food tastes good. Friendly service: they offer to lower msg n spices the second time, but still too much to eat daily. For the already reduced level of spice, eating once or twice a week is fine.

Big portion, fair price, rare for the bay. We ordered the big golden sour and spicy fish soup and the dry spicy hot pot which was sufficient for 4 of us. For both, I enjoyed the variety of ingredients. For someone with a low spicy tolerance, the spice level was just right.

This restaurant has been here for a long time, I've been there maybe 3 times, but this will probably be my last time. It's very narrow inside, and the tables are right next to the tables next to them. I ordered Lemonade, but it came with a cup of sugar water + lemon slices for $5.95 (see picture ), the fried instant noodles were OK, but the pork chop was very thin $17.95 . The seafood puff soup not only took a long time to wait, but the soup inside was canned + two pcs shrimps, two pieces of squid $ 14.75 .

This establishment is a Hong Kong-style café, reminiscent of similar venues found in Los Angeles. It features a menu that offers a fusion of traditional Chinese and Western-style dishes, typical of the Hong Kong dining experience. While exploring the menu, I faced the challenge of choosing from a wide array of appealing dishes. Ultimately, I opted for the baked pork chop, which closely resembled my previous experiences and was quite enjoyable. Additionally, we ordered the Hainan chicken rice, a dish where the quality of the rice is crucial. While it was satisfactory, it didn't quite meet the standard of what I had previously tasted in LA. Another noodle dish we tried was also quite good. As I currently reside outside of the West Coast, I may not have the opportunity to return. However, for those who live in the area and are seeking authentic Hong Kong café cuisine, this restaurant is worth a visit.

3.5 Stars Ma Restaurant Ma Restaurant specializes in northern Chinese cuisine, with its signature dish being the beef noodle soup, a definite highlight on most visits. The flavors are rich, and the dishes are generally well-prepared and satisfying. However, consistency can be an issue. While the food is often delicious, there are occasional off-days, which detracts from the overall dining experience. This inconsistency, regardless of how busy the restaurant is, is something that needs improvement. On the bright side, the service here is excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive, making diners feel welcome and valued. And don’t miss the pleasant ending to your meal, a refreshing and delicious ice cream cone. It’s a simple treat that leaves you with a sweet note to remember. With a little more focus on maintaining quality every time, Ma Restaurant could easily reach the next level.

Was pleasantly surprised that the servings were larger than I expected. I had the Beef Stew Noodle Soup (紅燒牛肉麵) but was fortunate enough to try out a few other types of noodles. The XinJiang Lamb Kebab (新疆羊肉串) were really nice and reminded me of what I tried in China. Would definitely come back again.
