The restaurant looks dated and has odd decor. It looked like it used to be an Irish pub with the poker hanging Tiffany lights and taken over by the current Chinese restaurant. The bathroom is oddly located outside the restaurant. Decor aside, the waitress there (the only waitress working dinner, kudos to her!) was friendly and efficient. She was overwhelmed by the number of table demanding her attention. Lots of regular customers arrived after we got there. We were the first to arrive and food arrived quickly. Everything tasted great. Portions were generous. Sizzling beef plate was my favorite. The price was reasonable given the quality and portion. We will return!

Came for lunch again with fam. This is always busy during weekend lunch time but if you go after 1p you’re more likely to have open tables. It can loud when it’s busy here but given how casual it is, you’d expect it from a Chinese restaurant in SGV. (-) Staff is running and to get something you must always flag them down / my biggest YUCK point is that the utensils are not very clean :( (+) Food comes out very quickly if not that busy. - Stir fry Broccoli with garlic - tasty - baked chicken with tomato sauce pasta - tasty - curry chicken & rice - tasty but small portion - chicken steak pasta with mushroom sauce - tasty - fried rice - tasty Parking - small lot but you can park along the small street or on Valley for free Restrooms - decent and well ventilated

Baccali is now a go-to restaurant for me. They have good food. Though the prices are higher, the portion sizes are bigger. Almost always I have leftovers that make for a great meal the next day. They have their own parking lot, but sometimes it's hard to find a spot. It can get tight when cars don't park correctly. Service is good. I really liked the cream soup with corn and ham. “A Rather Disappointing Dining Experience” Excited to try a new restaurant, we ordered the signature pickled fish dish. After a long wait—during which we finished three vegetarian dishes and a cold appetizer—the main course finally arrived. It looked decent at first glance, but the first bite revealed an overpowering fishy taste. The ingredients were clearly not fresh, failing to mask the unpleasant odor. When we asked our friends for their opinions, they all agreed: the fish was unpleasantly fishy and stale. We called over the staff, and two servers arrived. Instead of apologizing, their immediate response was defensive: “This dish couldn’t possibly be stale because we use frozen fish, not fresh fish!"* I was baffled. First，how could they dismiss our feedback without even tasting it? Second，shouldn’t they apologize first instead of shifting blame? Third，since when does frozen fish guarantee freshness or eliminate fishiness? What kind of flawed logic is that? The two servers stared at us and asked, “So, what do you want us to do?"We requested a replacement dish—stir-fried lamb. Another 20-minute wait later, it arrived. The first bite: overwhelmingly salty**. The second bite: **still unbearably salty**. Was the salt shaker accidentally dumped into the wok? Or was this some kind of spiteful seasoning retaliation? The most frustrating part? No apologies, no follow-up, and zero concern for our experience.** From start to finish, the service was indifferent, leaving us completely neglected. **Key Issues Highlighted:** - **Poor ingredient quality** (unfresh fish despite excuses). - **Defensive service attitude** (blame-shifting over accountability). - **Execution failure** (over-salted replacement dish). - **Zero customer care** (no apologies or follow-up).

Wanted an authentic Sichuan experience, and definitely got it here. I would NOT recommend ordering things extra spicy, because they are already sufficiently spicy thanks to the plethora of red chilis served with pretty much any dish. The lamb bites were delicious, the green beans were well prepared, and the beef with ginger was tender + delicious. The boiled fish in soup dish was a standout winner. Prices were a tad high but commensurate with the value and portion given. Would definitely recommend!

Such a treasure - very appropriate for Bib Gourmand! Pickled peppers with chicken gizzards were very very tender and fresh, as how it should be in chengdu. green peppers with fresh fish was as good as the signature dish at Mountain House but at half of the price. All the dishes reminded us of home. The ice jelly was a great closure of a feast for the taste buds. The quantity was so large that we had enough left over for another meal. Great services too!

We had been waiting for more than 30minutes. And after we were called in, they said that they’re not accepting orders and we have to wait for one hour in our seats to place the orders. If they cannot take more people, they should tell us at the beginning.

A pretty solid institution overall! Not exactly sure why there are so many negative reviews. the congee was very tasty (I got the pork rib, congee with clams and razor clams added), did not contain much MSG, which I'm usually pretty sensitive to. not over salted, was great, warming, and healthful meal to have especially when I was recovering from being sick. The only drawback that I have is that the conjuring was a little watery from my standpoint, would've liked 25 to 30% more rice. However, this may purely be stylistic. I didn't get the fresh seafood added, but would definitely bring my parents here next time to try it out. A solid institution and I would definitely come back!

I was pleasantly surprised how yummy this place was. I saw this place waiting for ramen last time so came to try out today. The beef in spicy sauce wasn't that spicy but was good with it's unique taste. My kids loved the free sides especially the peanuts. We ordered their best known poridge per the server (scallop porridge, 3 portions). We ordered 4 add-ons: fish, pork, 1000yo egg, and a crunchy white root. We included a Chinese donut. Everything was good, better than I expected. Is it a bit pricy, yes, but the quality of the ingredients is worth it in my opinion. I didn't know the base poridge includes shrimp and clams. I think I may add more clams next time. On a cold night, it hit the spot.

This price is really cheap compared to Chinese food in South Florida, so I didn’t expect the portions to be so large. The taste is acceptable! There are some differences, though. If I pass by again in the future, I will probably come back for soy milk and other small dishes. 📎 Turnip cake - It’s decent, sturdier compared to the Cantonese version. 📎 Egg pancake - There are actually two types of Taiwanese egg pancakes, but this one is unlike either. However, it’s still good, just different. 📎 Rice ball - Although it is large, it only contains fried dough sticks and pork floss. Typically, a Taiwanese rice ball would also include pickled mustard greens, dried radish, and eggs (either scrambled or braised), making the texture and flavor richer. 📎 Large intestine noodles - The flavor is the same, but the noodles feel like eating regular noodles. Usually, the noodles are shorter and eaten with a spoon, and the large intestine pieces are thicker. 📎 Savory soy milk - I don’t often eat this in Taiwan, but after trying it at Heung Fa Chun in Philadelphia, this one is much milder, more like a soup.

This is definitely one of the most authentic Chinese breakfast restaurant That I had in the state. I highly recommend the youtiao and Douhua. The Douhua is the best I had in recent 5 years in the N.A. region. The staff is friendly too.

I came here having heard of their reputation of good roast fish, but didn’t expect them to have great skewers as well! The fish menu was really good. I ordered “mild” spicy and I could still cope with it just fine. The skewers have low salt options. They have the silk worm too. I grew up eating this and it’s not easy to find it in the US. The servers are very friendly and happy, pretty rare in this era!

This place serves some of the best grilled fish I’ve ever had! The fish is tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, with a rich and slightly spicy broth that’s packed with depth. The combination of green and red chili peppers, sesame seeds, and various side ingredients makes every bite delicious. The portion size is generous, and the flavors stay amazing until the last bite. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone who loves grilled fish—definitely a must-try!

Came here right after work at 5p and the place was empty. Ordered To-Go and it was a breeze. The lady spoke Cantonese and English in case you had any questions or recommendations, so it was easy to order. Service 4 stars. Food 3 stars (some dishes were better than others). Ordered: Fried Rice w/Salty Egg Yolk & Taro Olives 咸蛋黄榄菜芋头炒饭. $15.99 **** this was actually very tasty and I liked it very much as it was different, I also took this as the recommendation from the owner/lady. ** Roast Pork Belly w/Salty Fish & Eggplant in Hot Pot 烧猪腩咸鱼茄子煲 $17.99 ** - this was too salty :( I wouldn’t order again Tofu w/Mushroom Wood Ear&Enokitake 冬菇云耳金针扒豆腐. $15.99 *** I think this would have been good if I’d eaten it there bc when covered up for take out the consistency of the fried tofu is lost and it isn’t as yummy. *** French Style Filet Mignon - was decently tasty but seemed too little of a portion for $23.99. With my takeout the lady gave us 3 small cups of soup off the day which was very nice to have and very refreshing. The inside had a number of small tables and a larger big family table if you’re dining in. I didn’t see any restrooms available though. Their menus have a strong old menu scent :/

Food was ok, best 6/10. We order Hainan chicken, salt pepper tofu, and garlic hollow veggie. The tofu was good, but the portion was half of what is represented in menu picture. Chicken and veggies taste pretty plain.

Really good Hunan food, but as all great small Chinese restaurants, tables and chairs may be greasy. Fortunately, the day I came the waiter is responsible and everything looks clean. The food is undoubtedly delicious.

My child always orders the spicy beef rice noodles here, and another favorite dish is the green pepper pork over rice. This is one of our favorite spots for authentic Hunan cuisine.

Just having dinner with my family at "Hongkong Cafe". The food are good as the pictures i attach. The sizzling steak also good. Super soft cames with gravy likes mushroom, garlic and black pepper. The milk tea also yummy! Dont miss the hongkong bread with ovaltine topping for your dessert! Make sure you NOT go to Hongkong cafe at 162 because this one closed already!!

This restaurant is cha chang tan style. It won't knock your socks off, but you will be very happy with the value you get. The portion is big. The triple steaks came on a big plate filled with foods. The drinks come with free refills. The food quality is above average. Come here if you want to stuff yourself with little money.

I love this appetizer (deliciousness loaded with carbs lol)!! 🍢 Special Chaozhou Platters is a solid choice as well! More variety to try out. 🍖 Shacha Sauce Beef Ribs Sauce-flavored and delicious, satisfying choice for the carnivore cravings. Note the potion is big- it comes with 2 ribs. This place was packed on Friday night. I like the atmosphere here because there's a crowd here, and I'm enjoying it. the hot soup here and talking. Parking is really hard to find. Service is good this time but can be rough when it's very busy. The price is decent depending on what types of food you ordering. The chicken soup here is very good which is very recommended. The starter special is good especially the deep fried ball. Oysters Pancake is very good especially to remind me of the hometown flavor. Beef fried rice is very good and well flavored. House special beef noodle soup is ok but not my flavor tho. I recommend people to try the soup or oysters pancake when the winter comes.
