Corner Cafe
This small family ran restaurant serves good Chinese food. Not very many tables because space is limited. The front seating area was used for storage so I rated the atmosphere lower.
You might miss it in passing, but if you know what to look for, park it and order some of my consistent personal favorite Chinese food on the blockkk. I always love when I’m in town to enjoy the delicious food they make. YUMMY!!
P.F. Chang's
Came here for my birthday Bree was super sweet!! Would definitely come back here again next time I'm in San Diego! Food was excellent only reason I wouldn't rate the food a 5 is becuase I wasn't a fan of the red velvet cake personally but that's just my personal taste and the manager came to check in when I sent it back all super nice and pleasant employees and delicious affordable bites here :)
Great customer service and food is delicious. This kind of chain restaurants I would love to try in most locations. Their portions are big enough to make you full and ask for the to-go-box. The Trio Mongolian is a good choice of variety meat. The food is oily though , so if you’re on diet, that would be your cheating day
Panda Express
Out of Fountain drink raspberry tea. Orange chicken tastes under cooked still has pink in it. I wanted to request well don- also duck sauce is too sugary.
Dined here on January 8 with my wife and our 15-month-old daughter. We hadn’t eaten anything for about six hours beforehand, except for bottled water we’d been drinking for the past two days. My daughter ate some blackberries afterwards, which she had been eating for the past day without issue. About two hours after our meal, our daughter started vomiting and continued to do so nearly ten times until around 3:00 AM. We almost took her to the ER, but she finally fell asleep—only to vomit again the next morning. My wife began vomiting and diarrhea soon after my daughter fell asleep, and still does so occasionally next morning. I felt some mild stomach discomfort, which subsided halfway through the night. It seems like mild food poisoning, though we’re not sure what caused it. It wasn’t severe enough to incapacitate us, but it did cause my daughter and wife a lot of distress. We’re tourists and don’t have time to pursue further action; we just wanted to share our experience for anyone who may be concerned.
Year of the Fortune Chinese
Came in with a coworker. There was a party going on and it was super loud. Got sat upstairs. But the whole place had a weird smell. It's like a bad defuser smell. I ordered the orange cauliflower, which was the whole reason we went. It was good. The bigger pieces weren't cooked all the way, but the flavor was good. My friend ordered the Mongolian beef and said it was super salty. The waiter came and dropped off the food but didn't refill my water. I am assuming It was the manager who asked us how we were doing, when my friend told him that his meal was salty he asked if he wanted him to make it again. He said no and the mananger ended up taking it off the bill so that was nice. Would I go again. No. Would I order take out for myself, yes. Seems more like a drinking spot than an eating spot. To top it off, they charge a cost of living fee onto your bill.
Just the absolute worst, most low quality Chinese food I've ever had the dissatisfaction of eating. Photos on Uber Eats are nothing like their actual dishes. Literally a scam. See attached.
Panda Express
Within the past few months, the portions have decreased by a third and the chow mein is greaser than ever. Lots of onion and fillers in the stir fry entrees. The orange chicken batter is 3x thicker than the chicken inside. Since there's no Panda Rewards here and pretty much a guaranteed customer base, it's beginning to feel like a one-sided affair. Go back to the drawing board and fix it.
Decent food I wouldn’t say Chinese food cause it’s not Chinese it’s American food thought to be Chinese but not, it was okay at best food wasn’t really hot just warm and felt like I got whatever sat out since they opened. I dunno if it’s nostalgia kicking in but I feel like Panda used to be way better than it is now, no fault to the people that work there just the recipe have no good spices in them to make it really tasty
Imperial Express
My family has been coming here since before I was even born. It warms my heart to see its survived all the gentrification. Great price for the amount of food you get. Panda express could never
I got Salmonella from their orange chicken, this was back in November, and I was pregnant!! Extremely dangerous, I used to like it back then but will never be coming back unfortunately.
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
I got the house tofu. It was perfectly crispy and was really good. Will definitely come back again.
This food is better than the competition because everything is fresh and they make it right on the spot I really recommend this place 👌 ☺️
City Dragon
Looks like the portions are a little smaller but, in these times, I can understand. Once again, Men star the on line ordering screws up by charging my card, telling me it was declined and not sending my order. Save yourself the frustration, go in and order it call your order in.
I hadn’t been here since it stopped being fast casual. That was a surprise. Unfortunately, that means everything is made to order and I didn’t know what it looked like. We got 4 dishes and besides the noodles, the 3 other chicken and seafood dishes were fried which was disappointing. If you like fried Chinese food with sauce, then you’ll like this place.
Fortunate Son Chinese
Such a vibe!! I've been wanting to go here so we arrived right around 5 and got seated right away. Food was great! 10/10 American Chinese it's so good and great quality, definitely elevated from a classic take out operation. My sister is vegan and they were able to make a few items vegan and gave us some options that she could choose! Overall great food, great service, great atmosphere !
Such a fun night. Once we got our table they sat us near the fire feature and it very cool we had ordered Fried rice, Orange chicken, Egg Rolls & deep fried tofu. Very large portions and a great value. The interior decor was well done.
Diamond Palace
Good varieties of dim sum. Kitchen dishes are good portion. Reasonable priced. Service is adequate. Go early on the weekends if you don’t want to wait for a table. They open at 9:30AM. By 11:30AM, there is usually a line.
Great dim sum, live lobsters and crab in tank, duck was outstanding. Lived in San Diego around 3 years, often trying Asian restaurants. Possibly best I have been to here so far. Excellent service although possibly a little overbearing. Good parking and nice atmosphere.
Manna Restaurant Pancake House And Chinese Fast Food
This spot is a hole in the wall, but the food is delicious! The machaca plate had all the right notes, and reminded me of how my grandma used to make it. The seating area is clean and comfy. The prices are very reasonable as well. I would like to come back and try the lunch dishes, like the orange chicken. It's a very unique menu combo, so I would recommend it. Eat up!!!
It's the staff for me. What a wonderful group from owner to chef to the ladies that take out orders 😀. So on task. Please try everything on menu and remember to tip as they have reasonable prices. Very hard working as well.
Star Express
Don’t waste your money on the broccoli beef party tray. They’ll only give you broccoli with maybe 5 pieces of beef. $37. This is the second time I’ve ordered this (thinking the first time was a fluke). I was wrong. And now I’m compelled to inform their customers of this rip off. (And no, the beef is not at the bottom of the tray. My white plastic fork is on the right- I was digging around for the beef and what you see pictured is all the beef there was). Go elsewhere for this dish!
Was in the mood for some hood Chinese food and being in National City this fit the bill. Location is in plaza, parking was decent. Clean and simple setup. Lady behind the counter was very nice, good service. Read some reviews and visually inspected the goods before picking. I went with one single item. Sweet and sour chicken. The flavor was on point but a lot of breading and hardly any chicken, point deducted. I'll be back to try some of the rest of the menu as it didn't look half bad. Price was fairly reasonable.
