Szechuwan Garden Restaurant - Authentic Chinese Food in Canoga Park
Lived near this restaurant for 5 years, but decided to try it for the first time with my family—and it did not disappoint! Our waitress greeted us the moment we walked in and seated us right away. We went during lunchtime, and I was impressed by the great value of the lunch specials, which come with rice, an egg roll, and soup or salad. We ordered Mongolian Beef, Crispy Spicy Shredded Beef, Combination Lo Mein, Eggplant with Szechuwan Sauce, and Spicy Honey Chicken. Each dish had its own delicious, unique flavor that really stood out. The Mongolian beef had a perfect balance of savory and sweet, and the eggplant had just the right amount of heat from the Szechuwan sauce. The Spicy Honey Chicken was wonderfully crispy, with a nice sweet-and-spicy kick. And don’t miss the housemade spicy mustard sauce—it’s the perfect complement with a great punch of flavor. The waitress was very attentive, always making sure our table was cleared quickly without rushing us. The restaurant itself had a cozy, inviting atmosphere, perfect for family meals. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for authentic, tasty Chinese food at a great price!
Great value, food everywhere has gotten expensive, but Szechuwan Gardens has great menu deals

I have dined here occasionally and every time I have ordered the Orange chicken with steamed rice. All in all it is consistently pretty good. The restaurant has an "A" rating from the city health department. Good friendly service and it was pretty fast. Food seemed fresh and is made to order. Only downfall is there are no fountain drinks so you'll have to grab a canned soda. Every one was wearing a mask and the restaurant seemed pretty clean. Plenty of parking and everything is to go for now. Not a bad choice for those who are on their lunch breaks.
Under new ownership, the quality of the food especially the meat is appalling. But what made it worse for me was the fact that they just don't care about the community and refused to wear masks during the pandemic even after being cited by the health department
Panda Express
Solid Panda Express. Get the orange chicken and half lo mein half fried rice. Can’t go wrong with that. Kung pow chicken is ok.
This location is by far one of the best Panda Express’ I’ve gone to. The staff are incredible, they keep the place super clean and are so welcoming and quick to make your plate. No complaints. Ivette was a sweetheart!
Panda Express
The line was long and moved slowly. They only had one employee serving the food and one at the register. The portions were small. The employees were rude and didn't greet or thank me. They didn't let me sample any food.
Good portions. Good food made on the spot. Can’t beat that price!
Wacky Wok
My coworker and I love ordering from them. It's always hot, the veggies are fresh and crunchy and the white meat chicken they use in their dishes is nice and juicy 🥦🧅🌶
I’m not usually one to leave reviews but just save yourself some trouble and don’t go here. I placed an order for takeout on the website. The meat for my beef chow mein was raw, I called they said something about the meat supplier and that he can give me a new one tomorrow because they were now closed. I came in today to get a refund (obviously I didn’t want another one) and the lady said she could only give me the menu price and not the online price because they have to pay a fee for that. I was charged the online price it doesn’t make sense to not give me the full amount. I left since I didn’t feel like arguing for a few bucks I just hope this doesn’t happen to other people they need to improve their customer service and food quality.
Kay Kay Chinese Food
The food was piping hot but something was missing. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice should be fried. The atmosphere here is chill but there isn’t any inside eating.
Family owned restaurant. Tasty food, but not for the price.…. 8 dollars for a Combo A (which is 1 item combo) doesn’t seem right. Customer Service was decent.
Master Zhu Chinese Food
Customer service was nice but I wished the food tasted better. I ordered a combo B with half fried rice and half lomein with 2 side items, My side items were bbq pork and orange chicken. The serving size was ok but at other restaurants you can get more for the same price. The quality of food I wasn't impressed at all. No authentic taste And definitely nothing special to it. The lomein tasted plain along with the rice, I needed to add soy sauce just to really eat it and even with the soy sauce it wasn't doing justice. The orange chicken tasted ok but had kind of a soggy taste to it. The only thing that I genuinely enjoyed was the bbq pork, for that and the customer service is why I give this place a solid 2 stars. Unfortunately I will not be coming back to this place and to the others looking to eat here and are a fan of Chinese food keep in mind it's a gamble but I wouldn't recommend unless your starving and really want to try it for yourself.
I love Chinese fast food and this place is always very good. I love everything and am always really happy.
Panda Express
So, based on the good customer experience I've encountered.. I wanted to provide a good review. However, I have to give a poor review based on the food quality. When I first tasted the food, it tasted well. However, after a few hours, I ended up vomiting multiple times, so unfortunately, I did receive food poisoning from this location. I really wish I had looked up reviews prior to eating here, as it seems like food poisoning is common here. I do wish for the managers here to improve their food quality and not have food sitting out too long. As people should not be experiencing food poisoning due to that. And, prior to this location, I've never had food poisoning from Panda Express, so may they improve!
This is the one at the Crenshaw mall. it's cool. There are not a lot of options for veg-heads. Just super-greens, veggie eggrolls and chow mein. They even stopped carrying the brown rice.
Panda Express
I haven’t gone to Panda Express in a while, but I went Friday night and the service was really good. Everyone there works really hard. The food was good and the restaurant was clean! It was so clean! I especially loved how my drink was cold and came without ice, without having to ask. I honestly will just go to panda express more often because of this detail. Thank you Panda Express
Not sure why, but food is never fresh here. They keep the bowls super empty at all times. They make extremely small batches of popular items and let them sit. Staff seems a bit agitated if you ask them when a new batch is coming out. Even if you’re willing to wait.
VIP Chinese Restaurant
Been coming here on and off for 13 years and today was my last visit. Consistency and quality control has been an issue since I first started coming here but this last visit was by far the worst. The orange chicken was 95% breading. Hardly any chicken meat. I couldn't believe my eyes when I inspected the chicken after noticing I was biting into what felt like mush. After cutting through a few pieces of chicken I noticed that there wasn't any meat. Just bits of fried fat and breading. I paid for orange chicken not orange breading. Never again.
I've been going this little restaurant for over 20 years, it has the best Champong you will ever taste, it's famous for it. The rest of the menu is mixed Korean and Chinese, you may not be impressed with its location and decor, but if you want the best Korean/Chinese food you ever tasted this place will make you very happy!
Le Oriental Bistro
After a long day of walking, we came in instantly felt relaxed. It’s quiet inside and we’re attended right away. We ordered shrimp dumplings, sui mai, wor wanton soup and kungpow chicken. The food came out fast. The soup tasted healthy and clean. Not like other Chinese restaurants I’ve tried. 3.5/5 The shrimp dumplings were the best. 4/5 Kungpow chicken 4/5 Chicken sui mai 3/5
“The food here is delicious and perfectly suits my taste. Everything was flavorful, well-prepared, and enjoyable. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for great Chinese food!”
Volcano Wok
An independently owned restaurant in the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. Very quiet, clean and great made to order selections if you wish. Order the hot and sour soup which is made with great ingredients such as bamboo shoots and woodland ear mushrooms. They also make their signature hot sauce
My boyfriend and I came into the store and it seemed like it was under construction, after asking it was open. It was very uncomfortable and super cold because of the wind. We were looking at the menu to see what we wanted, the owner recommended us fried rice (it was the quickest option) and he was too lazy too cook anything else. Whilst ordering the owner farted loudly in front of us. We had to wait for the food very long and saw the cook eating - simple chicken egg fried rice and teriyaki chicken. When the food came the teriyaki chicken was yummy and looked nice. As for the egg fried rice - was it really chicken… or dog? Never coming back, would love to give -1.
