Yum 😋 this is fine dining Asian cuisine! The food is fresh & made to order! We were greeted at the door with a smile 😃. The garlic 🧄 & broccoli 🥦 chicken w/ fluffy white rice 🍚 is delicious 😋!!!! We also enjoyed the orange chicken yummy!!! You will enjoy the music too! 👏👏👏Go here 👏👏👏 you will not be disappointed!!!
The atmosphere was great. The food was delicious. The staff was tentative and helpful in explaining the menu. We would definitely go back.
Hong Kong Express
This is a perfect, hole-in-the wall, affordable steam table style Chinese combo joint. Every time I come in, they are fully stocked with fresh, high quality, well seasoned classics. The portions are also very generous. Much, much better quality, more exciting options and a little cheaper than 🐼 express on the next block.
We love this place! My husband has been a Loyal customer for atleast 12 years. Fried rice very yummy and our Favorite the WINGS. So crispy and yummy. Customer service is good too. Both ladies VERY friendly. We enjoy the food from this place. The Thai Tea is REALLY GOOD.
Maxim Chinese Food
The price is right and the portions are huge! The flavor and quality of the food was good for what you pay for. It is sitting in heating trays like at a buffet or Panda E, so it makes the serving process super fast. You definitely get your bang for your buck and I would happily return for some cheap eats if I were back in the area.
The prices are reasonable. The portions are big, the customer service is good, and the restaurant is clean. But unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired. I had their Black Pepper Chicken and the Crispy Honey Shrimp (don't remember the exact name). The chicken didn't taste like black pepper, and the shrimp was a bit gooey instead of crispy like Panda Express' Honey Walnut Shrimp. The veggies however, looked quite fresh. A friend told me they have pretty good soups. I sampled their BBQ chicken, and even that wasn't all that special. Come here if you prefer quantity over quality. For under $12, you can have a huge plate of food that can be divided into two meals.
ixlb Dimsum Eats
Surprisingly good for the price, everything in the picture was about 32 total Food was served in about 5-10 mins after ordering The shui mai was massive, juicy and packed with umami. The prawn dumplings likewise were very generously wrapped and 鮮 Unfortunately the xiaolongbaos did not appear to have much soup inside. Some of the har gao skins were broken and lumpy, perhaps we had an older batch? Egg tarts were also very good I appreciated the provided chili crisp, soy sauce and ginger sauce (for the xlb) as well as the sweet soy sauce provided on the side. It appears this place is oriented around taking away with seating to eat as a secondary purpose (only napkins were provided at the table). Overall, this is definitely an unexpected gem in the area and I would highly recommend. I love that they served the dim sum in foil which allowed the heat to stay in and keep it all fresh. The serving size and flavor definitely hit the spot.
I got 4 pieces of the spicy shrimp wonton and it has big chunks of shrimp in them. They were so good. And the staff is super friendly too
Northern Cafe & Chinese Dumpling House
Amazing noodles and dumplings. If you need a warm soup, the hot and sour soup was perfection. No regrets choosing to have Chinese over another burger for our last meal in LA!
Delicious food but waited a little long for it. We ordered beef noodle soup, soup dumplings, and beef wrap and all of it was very delicious. However, we waited for awhile for our food since we heard from the waiter that the items we ordered took longer to prepare. Overall the food was very delicious and was worth the wait.
Panda Express
I recommend the walnut shrimp with fried rice..really Friendly workers and good food. I come here often, fast service and good price.
I really liked the service I received when I entered, the manager and the employees were very professional and friendly, the food was fresh and hot, this place was highly recommended.
WOKCANO Asian Restaurant & Bar
Oh my goodness, can you tell me how do you bring the sushi from heaven? It’s insanely delicious, I had food orgasms eating here. 🤤
Great location, great food, great scenery and prices are not bad at all for the type of restaurant it is! I waited about 30 minutes to get seated after I got there for my reservation, and asked for a table on the outside with the best view… the view alone was 10/10! The thing that ruined it all for us was the service… the waiter we had was cool but just didn’t give us the attention and service that you would expect from a restaurant like this especially when you have to reserve seating a day in advance! I not only had to pour my own water but was given a used bottle of Evian water that was luke warm! I asked for two sodas a fresh bottle of water and a beer on draft. We never received any of them and we started to eat our food while we waited for the waiter so I can ask for our drinks, but to our surprise he never came! I flagged a gentleman down with a button up explained what had happened… he verified me soda was ordered 20 minutes ago same time as the food and never received them! I got the coke and beer for free but money wasn’t the issue I came for an experience and it was definitely not met
Chibiscus
great ramen, fast and friendly service, good size portions. the place is small. lovely for quick, casual dining and take out.
OMG the best Ramen and Fried rice i have ever tried!! We randomly found this little place and we did not regret it. If are looking for delicious authentic Asian food!! This is the place in Hollywood. We will keep eating here for sure! And the prices are great too for the amount of food and quality you get. Portions are huge!!!
Win Wings
🌈⃤🦋⃤ What can I say about this place? It’s new it’s clean. I have it all to myself. They gave me and my friend a discount. They have Pepsi products instead of Coke. The windows are clean. It looks like a great place already. I’m so excited that this opened up in the neighborhood. they have a nice little patio right on the corner of La Brea and Santa Monica across from the target and the owners are so nice.
This place is great! Atmosphere was really chill, dining area was clean, the staff is very friendly, and these wings taste terrific! I ordered Lemon Pepper and Mango Habenero wings; highly suggest em!
dan modern chinese - santa monica
This is a neat little place I found on Yelp when I was craving some Chinese food. Portions could be a little bit more generous, but it was very flavorful. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes. I tried the veggie dumplings because they were out of chicken. I don't know what was in it, but it looked like minced kale? The soy sauce was ridiculously salty, it's like drinking from the dead sea. Very fast and friendly service. Beautifully decorated inside.
Food: this place is definitely not authentic, very American spin on the food. I would skip the dan noodles, it was WAY too sweet and awful! Ma Po tofu was solid and the dumplings were mid Service: Food comes out VERY slow, and one by one. Atmosphere: is modern and very clean Price: overpriced for mediocre food, understandable bc it’s downtown santa monica and touristy
FUWA
Din Tai Fung was 3 and half hours waitlist, so we came to the food court and found this restaurant. Steamy hot food freshly cooked right after order. The price is only $12😮!!! And the food taste so yummy. Staff were friendly. Cannot get any better than this. I mean we spent $200 for lunch today 😭at a restaurant in BH…
Solid and tasty. I got a 8 Chicken Cutlet Bento Box, the chicken had real crispy breading and the rice was soft and light. Sushi was good and the dumpling had a nice crunch. There was cut up cabbage and with some sauce, which although is pretty ordinary, is a nice refreshing side from the savory meal. The price is cheap with a big filling quality. If you’re craving a nice savory meal this is a great place to go.
Mao's Kitchen
The food is delicious, I return every year when I visit L.A. i recommend green curry, ginger sweet and sour fish, pineapple fried rice… you choose whatever you want because everything is really good. My pics is at 12:00 when the spot open. At this time I ordered to pick it up. 🥰🥰🥰
The most authentic and nostalgic Chinese restaurant I’ve ever known. Born and raised in the 70s in China, I’ve traveled around the world for the last 20 years and have visited all sorts of overseas Chinese restaurants. Mao’s Kitchen stands out from all the others. The food there isn’t just some Chinese food; it’s the Chinese food reminiscent of the old days, each dish with its own unique characteristics. The menu is printed on simple paper and looks aged, as if it has time-traveled to the present. It resembles an index of intriguing stories, each with a brief introduction. I was captivated, eager to discover what each story entails. Through the menu, you can feel the author’s love for the food and his appreciation for the opportunity to connect with each guest through the dishes. Every dish is alive, speaking to you, telling a story, full of life and heartfelt eagerness to share its essence with you. The first bite of the complimentary fried crackers, served in a simple stainless steel bowl, unexpectedly brought me to tears. They tasted exactly like the homemade crackers fresh out of the big frying pot that I used to have in my childhood during Lunar New Year. You can’t find the same in any other Chinese restaurant or supermarket. You could only have such food either cooked by Grandma at home or here. The Two-dollar Salad was worth twenty dollars. It was simple, ample, and nimble, so fresh that it seemed like it had just been brought to the table directly from the backyard garden. The sauce was another big surprise. I could tell the base was sesame paste, which is the traditional sauce we use in northern China, but there was also something else in the sauce that I couldn’t identify, making it uniquely tasty. The Hot and Sour Soup was not exactly the typical recipe but something more special. The large portion was enough for four people, so be cautious if you are dining alone. Mao’s Hometown with fish was again simple but surprisingly delicious. Fresh vegetables with tender sole fillet in a secret recipe sauce, cooked to perfection. There was no meat in the Hot and Sour Soup, making it vegetarian-friendly. In fact, vegetarians can always choose tofu or smoked tofu as a protein option in any dish which provides a choice. The service was great. The young waiter was polite, smart, and observant. He was multitasking but didn’t miss any gesture from each table. With a smiling face and attentive eyes, he seemed to run the place as if it were his own home. All these elements, combined with the nostalgic paintings on the wall, the old-style furnishings, and the warm ambiance, make this restaurant a place one wants to return to again and again, whether alone or with friends or family. It is a place where you can find not only great food but also peace, love, and life. Last but not least, being steps away from the gorgeous Venice Beach, the location is unbeatable. Nothing compares to a joyful stroll along the beach to appreciate the beautiful Pacific sunset after a fulfilling dinner.
