Poki Poki - Escondido
My go-to spot for a delicious bowl of poke. The food is always fresh and flavorful. There are a good number of options for toppings and bases. The portions are always generous. The regular size is quite a meal so I would try that one before attempting a large bowl. They do charge extra for additional avocado and additional proteins, however the other toppings and sauces they do not. This is really important because they provide quite a bit of rice that can be a bit dry without extra sauce. They are always generous with the sauce if you ask. The staff is incredibly kind and polite and professional. The girls working tonight in particular were very nice and very helpful to me and my husband. the restaurant itself is very very clean. I never have any doubt about the sanitation or cleanliness when I go here. Even the outside is always kept neat and orderly. The price is quite affordable. For 2 regular bowls plus additional avocado we paid $34. This is cheaper than some fast food places nowadays, definitely cheaper than the Panera right down the road and I feel like I get way more nutrients and quality ingredients at poki poki.
This food could be hardly named poke. Their fish (previously frozen) was not that bad, but had a bit lack of taste. The real issue was they didn’t have many sides, literally nothing to choose from. Another issue were marinades. The stuff doesn’t even understand how to mix fish and marinade well. So the food in my box was a very strange mix, partially over spicy, partially just plain fish. Don’t recommend this place, unfortunately.
Panda Express
Really bad service. Came in with my kids to eat and my daughter had to use the restroom so I went to go ask the lady that starts helping you out with your order right by the entrance and I was like excuse me and she completely ignored me and turned around. So I proceeded to go to the register where a young gentlemen was at and also completely ignored me. I was clearly right in front of him and he left me standing there like whatever. Both employees completely ignored me like if I was not standing there. Worst customer service ever. And this was today 04/01/25 @ around 6:15pm
The Panda Express Team is always so welcoming, friendly, and always serve fresh food. Great management, and hard working crew. Keep up the great work!
Panda Express
What is happening to this Panda Express?!? Giant pieces of chicken and a big slice of onion in my bowl isn't very appetizing. I was immediately greeted upon entering the restaurant by two different employees, but the kid who helped me wasn't very friendly. I'll go to a different place from now on because their food actually looks and tastes better. I watched the cashier pick up little bits of trash from the flood and go stir the fried rice, without washing his hands! Gross!
If it's not rice or orange chicken they give you VERY little portions or you get more of the veggies. You pay almost $12 for a plate and they are still stingy. Smh
Dumplings N More
We stopped in for a take out order. Lamb and scallion dumplings and soup dumplings were delicious. They we still warm by the time we arrived at our hotel. Beef with broccoli was fresh and crunchy. Mongolian beef had great flavor. The batter on General Taos chicken was a bit thick. Overall, it's very tasty!
Got some takeout from here and it was excellent! Delicious, authentic and reasonably priced. It was very delicious food. I’m so happy I tried it and I’m excited to try other items on the menu. I got the mapo tofu which was so tasty and the hot and sour soup was great too on a rainy night. Their chili oil was different and good! It’s a bolder, redder version and it’s a must try so remember to ask for that. One thing that got me was, when I paid for my meal I didn’t realize that the machine was set to default tip 18%. I clicked too fast after signing and then it said “tip 18%” which luckily for my small order was around $3 and I’m happy to support a small business and their food was amazing but I wanted to highlight this because it may be something a customer isn’t used to if they’re paying at the front and aren’t used to a default tip especially after the signature which was kinda interesting. So just be mindful of that. Other than that I’d totally go back; I can’t wait to try their dumplings and other dishes! The food was really good!! Another Asian gem in Escondido we’re so lucky!!
Bamboo House Restaurant
The food is fantastic, especially the lunch specials which are a good amount of food for the price. Atmosphere is great! Service is a little slow but not a big deal, very nice staff. Would recommend the mandarin chicken!
Bamboo house has always been a favorite for our family. All of the food is delicious and the portion sizes are great. The customer service is especially wonderful as well. There was confusion on my end regarding an entree I ordered and the woman I spoke with was so kind and patient and was so very helpful. Definitely check it out!
Pho Saigon Express
This place offers a simple and authentic PHO experience. The food is amazing, perfect for enjoying with family and friends, or for takeout. The beer selection is decent, and the soups are truly comforting choice of food!
We were craving some soup and we found the perfect place🤩 their menu has a lot of different options, from Vietnamese food, to Chinese and even Thai and some Japanese dishes. We ordered a cream cheese wontons to start and they were amazing, very crunchy and tasty 10/10, we also ordered a yellow curry and coconut soup which has definitely been one of the BEST soups I’ve ever had in my life!!! Very tasty, little bit spicy and creamy and we loved it. I also ordered a teriyaki shrimp bowl this one was ok, honestly not as good as the rest maybe 7/10. However we were very impressed with how fast the food came out. Customer service was very nice, seems like is family owned and they were awesome, very kind and attentive. We enjoyed our meal and hope to be back soon 👏🏻
Chinese Food
The Kung Po chicken and egg rolls were good, but everything else was okay. The pork wontons had no filling and green pepper steak was watery. Definitely have had better all around.
Fast and friendly service. Food was hot and tasty. We had the Popo platter appetizer, Sweet and Sour Chicken dinner with fried rice, and the Veggie Delight with steamed rice. We also had the hot jasmine tea, a must for any good Chinese restaurant
China bros
Popped in for lunch with my mom. Really fast and friendly service, no waiting (11:15am). They gave us each a piping hot bowl Corn Egg Drop Soup while we looked through the menu, and our drink order (hot tea) came out before we were even ready to order. My mom had the Fish Filet with Black Bean Sauce (lunch special), and I had the Fried Tofu with Sauteed Vegetable and a heaping plate of white rice. Both were freshly wok'd, hot and delicious. Wealso got the Taro Bunny Buns and the Piggy Steamed Buns (vegetarian red bean filling) because they were cute, but they were also pretty tasty. Will definitely come back!
Really friendly service, we had a hot bowl of corn egg drop soup as soon as we perused the menu. Lunch was freshly wok'd. It was a little on the salty side but the mound of white rice we had with the food balanced out the salt well. And we had to order the cute little dessert buns, which we pretty tasty (Piggy Buns, red bean, and Bunny Buns, taro)
China Fun
Authentic and delicious food in a welcoming and friendly environment! Take out is also good! They are consistent with their food and super quick. A wide menu with a good selection of meat noodle and rice dishes. I haven’t tried something I don’t like here. Make sure to ask for the chili oil, it’s not super spicy but it has a nice kick to it. Really some of the best Asian food I’ve had near me. It’s also great for family gatherings and big family dinners. I love this restaurant and I’ll keep coming back!
Good prices. Everybody was friendly. Food was good. We were very happy with our take out.
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
We ordered the family pack 3 entrees for $45 and this is what we got. Take note today is Mother's Day 2024. We received half the size of the portioned plates and it seems like they are single order portions. We ordered more dishes aside from this but it was just very disappointing. We paid $90 for the foods we got that would feed only 2 people but we ordered the family pack that it says was good for 4-5 people. I would not recommend pick up stix and please go to a place who would give fair amount of food for the price you pay. Specially for a special occasion please don't get or order from them. All of you will be disappointed a hundred percent. My Mother's Day celebration has been sad unfortunately because of the food that we chose to get and was not fair to give us the rights amount for the price we paid. Not all of was able to eat and I had to cook extra for the rest of my guest.
Service here is awesome. Well staffed and friendly. It was everything we’ve come to expect from Pick Up Stix, but I have been disappointed by other locations that, for some reason have really understaffed their locations. There was also plenty of parking. Super clean and smelled really good, too. :-) This is a great location and I just can’t say enough about the staff.
Nice Food Restaurant
Really good "American-style" Chinese buffet food of this type. Food is fresh, servings are huge, the people are very nice and the prices are competitive and reasonable for today's standards. That's saying a lot considering how expensive eating out is these days. I especially like their spicy fish fillets. I haven't seen them at other restaurants of this type. I only wish they were gluten-free, but you can't have everything and fortunately, I can cheat with that a bit now and then. They do have more than one gluten free option (at least from breading; I don't know about flours in the gravies) which is really nice. I also really like their pork. It's not breaded or super sweet, but it has a very nice flavor. My brother ordered the Mongolian beef off the menu and it was good and fairly priced as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant. We always get the 3-entree serving because it's clearly the best value. Singles will easily have leftovers and families can share, making it delicious and affordable.
So good! And a great price! I spent $10 something for each plate ($21 total and it is enough food to feed like 5 people!) they STACKED the plates with several scoops of each thing. And it was sooooo yummy
Gourmet Wok
First time dining in and a second time trying this place. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and seems to be usually empty. They have a good variety of dishes and specials. I am very pleased to see the lunch and dinner specials, as a lot of other take outs do not offer much more than the family sets. Food tasted great, and portions were pretty good. They mainly get busy with take-out orders.
My family and I absolutely love this place! We eat there a couple times a week! Not sure how anyone could post otherwise! The family that owns it are kind and very speedy. It's been really neat watching their children growing up and seems they love to wait tables now. They're very speedy. So, you won't be waiting long! The Mongolian beef is one of my personal favorites! The kids love the Cream cheese wontons, Chicken in foil wraps, Hot and sour soup (Which is so delish!) Chicken lo mein and of course the Orange chicken! I could go on, but I've never had anything bad from there. Ever! So thank you Gourmet Wok!!
