The picture to the right is their chef special. The one on the left that is battered is not what we ordered. The chef special which is on their wall is not battered. It’s definitely different in color and everything but they refused to except a refund replacement.

The food is good, the same attention. But what does not fit is the price of the dish when you consume in the restaurant. I just had a soup and they charged me twice what the letter indicates. Both paying with cash and debit card.

From the moment you walk in, you're instantly greeted at the door with a warm welcome 👋. The service was great, and our server was super attentive to all her customers 🧑‍🍳. I ordered the lunch special—salt and pepper fish with chow mein—and it was beautifully flavorful 🐟🍜. The background music added a nice touch to the experience 🎶, and the place was clean and tastefully decorated ✨. I’ll definitely be coming back!

China Chef’s homemade potstickers are a must-try! Crispy on the outside and perfectly tender inside, they’re packed with flavor. The veggie egg rolls were equally impressive – light, crunchy, and full of fresh ingredients. Both appetizers were delicious and a perfect start to our meal. Highly recommend them!

They have a large selection of rice noodles, more than other restaurants. The rice noodles are very smooth and light. They also have a good variety of congee which was also very good. Service is excellent and there is plenty of parking. I do not recommend their dry beef chow fun. It was really bland. Their shrimp dumplings are not that good either. The chicken feet were good. I suggest sticking to the congee and rice noodles.

20% discount off entire meal first day opened. 10% discount all first week. Restaurant opened October 8th, 2023. Great new Southern Chinese style restaurant. Food I ordered was prepared fast and it was delicious. Great for late breakfast and lunch. Staff was friendly and restaurant was very clean. This is an authentic street level restaurant experience of any major southern Chinese city.

Went into a seemingly modest establishment, looking for lunch. Was fully blown away by the quality of the food. Being it was my first time there, I hadn't given much thought into how it was gonna be. Believe me, there's nothing better than finding good food at a good price. The place had a calming feel to it as well.

I recently dined at Shan Shan Low restaurant and had a fantastic experience! The Chinese food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered egg fried rice, vegetable chow mein, Mongolian beef, and chicken with tofu, all of which were savory and delicious. While the restaurant has an older appearance, it is quite spacious and comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. There’s plenty of parking available, and the location is great! I highly recommend Shan Shan Low and look forward to returning with friends and family.

07/23/2024 😊So adorable food. Taste and look are on the top. I ordered 4 dishes: 🔹️1. Chinese Beef Roll. It costs $12.95. It was OK; I like Beef- soft and good seasoning. There was so much cilantro (it is better to add less than it). 🔹️2. Pan Fried Juicy Pork. It costs $14.95. Delicious dish, definitely to order again. The dough is soft and crispy. The beef is on a top level. 🔹️3. Chicken Soup Dumplings. It costs $10.95. The soup was rich and tasty in it. Enough chicken. 🔹️4. Pork Beef Stickers. It costs $10.95. I like the tiny dough and crispy crust. Order again shortly. 🍴These dishes weren't fat. I noticed a bad tendency in the Bay area to cook Chinese food with a huge portion of oil. I was surprised at how this restaurant makes all its food with the required oil content. It was takeout, and they prepared food very well. Good containers, microwave safe. Thank you, and I highly recommend this restaurant!

The dim sum here was really good and the best in the area. The flavors were all well balanced and the dumpling skins tasted high quality. I want to come back to try the sichuan food now.

Love the food and this is my go-to Sichuan place in the Bay Area. The crispy beef has been my favorite dish for over 10 years and is what I get cravings for since I now live abroad. The spicy Sichuan dumplings, boiled fish soup with chilis, sautéed string beans and pea sprouts are also favorites. Service can be slow at times, but is very kind.

Server was great, really hardworking. She was working alone, it was a quiet night, only 2 tables were filled though but really busy with pick-up. Food was great, and price was reasonable.

I’ve lived in Concord for the last three years and could not find any Chinese food tasted good. Finally found one fried rice was on point and the sweet-and-sour chicken was delicious. 9 out of 10 must try again

We ordered the beef noodle soup, Sichuan chicken, fried rice and salt and pepper tofu. The beef noodle soup did not take likes traditional Lu Rou Mian the sichuan chicken tasted great but not as crispy as it could have been and the tofu had minimal flavor.

Believe it or not, this is the best Chinese restaurant I've found so far in northeast Concord. One would not suspect this hole in the wall of being so. For some reason, the Chinese restaurants east if the Oakland hills are lackluster (excepting Great Wall) in Lafayette. The Chinese Kitchen is a happy exception. You will be underwhelmed by the decor. And, unfortunately, the tables are a tad sticky, and the service unenthusiastic - I suspect the owner-operators could use a good night's sleep. HOWEVER, the food is good. Their hot and sour soup is hot and sour, which is saying something, and the best I've had in the area. The owner, Wayland, has been at the restaurant for 27 years, when he began working it with his father. This place has been a Chinese restaurant since 1953. The original owners, father and son, retired and died. The restaurant does a good deal of takeout and delivery. Wayland serves as the delivery driver.

stumbled across this place while doing my laundry across the street. Late Sunday evening and it was still open for business , SO I immediately scoped out the Reviews. I was Pleasantly Surprised that this place had sooo many good reviews but was empty! we took a chance &Ordered anyways . I requested half orders bat was told NO by the only employee present.Only two of US so I was disappointed that I couldn't but Sucked it up anyways ended up paying few cents Short of $50...for food for two! ouch 🙁However . the food was really good! ordered BBQ pork fried rice chicken Chow men orange chicken egg rolls &chicken wings. Rice slightly dry do to the BBQ pork but the Chow mein was perfect. So Next time I will order the chicken fried rice too the Orange Chicken was delicious too! my only complaint is not offering smaller portions because We had so much leftover that I could still feed a small army! But other than that very good and will definitely be back!

Usually, we went to this place only and take order to go. After today’s order we will never c come back. They dish beef with ginger is more like ginger with a little bit beef. We are very disappointed. P.S. The place is worse than I expected. Today Friday, March 28th we tried to give them one more chance. However, they firstly used their language without knowing that I understood what they said about our review. After that when my husband went to pay for this, the guy said: “I remember you, you do not like ginger beef.” Instead of improvements, you tried to put us to spot, and make us feel uncomfortable. We actually love real GINGER BEEF. Not your version if this, with a few pieces of beef. For now we are done, your place will never improve. You guys are cheap and have zero understanding how to use criticism for improvements. We will never come here again. I would not recommend this place for my friends and family.

Food was very good, specifically we had the wonton soup for 2, the house version of Hong Kong crispy noodles, bbq pork fried rice and sesame chicken. (The crispy noodle pic is after I tossed them to start softening the noodle with the sauce, they were truly crispy upon serving)

We visited Uncle Yu’s today and had a fantastic dining experience! We ordered everything at once, starting with the Hot and Sour Chicken Soup, followed by the Crab Stuffed Prawn, Kung Pao Shrimp, and Crab Fried Rice—all based on our server’s recommendations. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Despite our hunger and indecision, our server was patient and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu and helping us make the best choices. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was both comfortable and inviting. Highly recommend Uncle Yu’s for an amazing meal and top-notch service!

Car absolute favorite for Chinese food. All of our friends who've been there agree with us. You can't possibly go wrong at Uncle yu's.

Small place but big servings. Not recommended for dine ins because of only 4 tables. Menu is vast and food is excellent. Funky comedic name but not the dishes. Hours is 11:30am-3pm & 4:30pm-8pm

I was just wondering why did my Salt and Pepper Squid taste like Curry. I like the texture but I was not expecting that taste. Hong Kong Noodles could use more sauce. Very Good Orange Chicken!!! Great Meat and Batter!!!

This was my first time there at China city. I yelped it and it had quite a bit of stars and I thought I'd try it new to the area and love the best Chinese food that I can find and this was a plus plus bless, go there and enjoy. Their egg flour soup is the best

The cashier lady is not doing very good customer service today. My children and I dined in and ate at the restaurant before 5:30p.m tonight. We would know how much ordered that we can eat for 1 family dinner meal for 1 adult and 2 kids. But the cashier lady talked so mean that the order only for 2 persons. So, I had to order 1 extra " a wonton soup " bowl. Finally, we had to paid more than 2 orders and packed a lot of foods for bringing home. My main point is she is not doing good customer service when the customer only wants to order 1 thing for sharing with 2 kids. Besides, the fried shrimps and fried pork meal are not delicious. Only the wonton soup is good bowl. We really regret to eat there. I'm very sorry for sharing the true thing. BTW, I hope the restaurant can build up more on the customer service. Thank you. Goodbye. Happy Lunar New Year.
