Decent amount of food for the price, total was $25 for these two plates but they stacked it with food. The servers are also nice and it tastes pretty good! Nice quick food option

Me and my husband's first time. Food looked fresh. Place was clean and the employees serving were kind. The food was fantastic!!!

We got take out, but I wish we would have eaten there. The decor was really nice, creating a great atmosphere. We'll definitely dine in next time. Food was delicious, here's what we ordered: Beef chow meins- delicious Sweet and Sour chicken-šŸ‘kids liked this better than the Orange chicken. Pot stickers-šŸ‘ looked freshly made Orange chicken- a bit spicy for the kids, but still really good. Crab rangoons-šŸ‘ Sesame balls- good White rice - it is what it is. One of our plates came with a soup not sure what it was, but it was also good. I The place is pretty hidden, it even appears to look closed as you approach it. But it's not and has a view of the water. Give it a try.šŸ™‚

Ordered my standard Szechuan beef tonight. It's usually pretty good. Sweet and a bit spicy. It's been a goto for years. Whoever made it tonight ruined it. It was salty and sour. Chinese restaurants don't usually care if you're happy. When i called the woman barely offered to make it right. It cost 50 bucks so i want it remade and redelivered. I'm minutes away. While i wait I'm feeling nausea. My wife isn't feeling great either. You're always better off cooking at home. Save yourself the tums.

I could definitely say Gim’s is my favorite to-go restaurant in the whole of Bay Area and that says a lot!! Everything is really good but my favorite is the sweet & sour pork over rice. Lunch menu is cheaper so it’s better to order around that time. Now they have knick-knacks on the side available to purchase. Definitely will keep coming back to this hidden gem in Alameda! šŸ˜‹šŸ‘šŸ¼

This was the worst Chinese I’ve had. Years ago this place had good food. Honey walnut prawns were served with peanuts! Really? All of the food was bland and just tasted like salt. Very disappointed! I threw out $65 of food after trying everything.

The former restaurant is now under new management and with a new name. Dumpling House is now open and off to a great start. My review to follow

Beef chow fun was delicious. Tender beef slices and flat rice noodles in a flavorful sauce.

Yang Chow Restaurant 0

Yang Chow in Oakland might not catch your eye at first glance—it’s a small, older spot. But trust me, the Chinese food scene here often surprises. While I’m not claiming it’s the best, the fried rice was enjoyable, and the portion sizes were generous, easily enough for two. Service could improve, but the prices are reasonable. Overall, it was a decent experience—nothing spectacular, but satisfying

I did not like the food. I ordered chicken and something else. I can't remember what the other orders was. But I did not care for this restaurant at all. I love chinese food. The quality was not good at all. My chicken was super dry. Not the place for me.

Had the dimsum here and it is very good, so we figured dinner was going to be just as good šŸ‘ and we were right! The salted fish fried rice is literally the best I’ve ever had! Clams were yummy and the beef with chow fun is very good. They had these chicken wings also that were very good, crispy but drenched with this flavorful sauce! Really good spot :)

Delicious Cantonese restaurant! The staff are so welcoming and make it feel like you are eating a home-cooked meal. Super generous portions and always leave feeling happy and full! Barbecued goose, steamed oysters with garlic, and clay pot dishes are a must.

I get it some people want the familiar but the choice of eating here is so weird when you’re across the street from the freshest cheapest veggies and best Chinese food perhaps in the country. Why pay more to destroy your taste buds with Panda Express when you can have genuine cheaper real Chinese food a 5 minute walk away? But for suburban relatives that visit just do it to make them happy. 😊 I got stomach upset last time I had Panda Express and Oakland Chinatown dim sum is a good antidote

You’ll find a few Karen’s complaining but it’s a fast food chain for Pete’s sake. Lower those expectations my guys. There’s a few other food spots around but you can get in and out quick here. It’s hit or miss with specific entrees you want sometimes but there’s plenty of options. I like when people complain and make a scene for the entree instead of the other 20 things you can get. I will say the chow Mein has lost its touch. Kinda doesn’t have any flavor whatsoever.

Great affordable Chinese American food! This is the kind of take out my family used to get growing up. If American Chinese food is unfamiliar to you then you might find the meat a bit salty, but for me it's delicious. My favorite items are by far the chicken chow mein and the pot stickers. It's like they came straight out of my childhood! I'll definitely be ordering from here again when the cravings hit. šŸ˜‹

No frills hood Chinese specializing in dry fried ribs. Can't beat the no nonsense good food in uptown.

Super low key restaurant with affordable and delicious food! My favorite is the salt and pepper eggplant! The texture and flavor are just excellent. It’s always been really quiet and empty when I go in, go give them some love!

Excellent food and service. Very nice and the food was delicious, savory, and properly spicy. The vegetarian options are also really nice and very flavorful. There’s something for everyone here! The food is very authentic, so don’t order anything spicy if you can’t handle a lot of spice!

Yummy Dim Sum 0

Not a fancy place but they do have dim sum ready to serve or take out. If you don’t speak Cantonese or Mandarin, the steamers are right there for you to point to whatever dishes you like. The food comes quickly.

I ordered a plate of Hao Gao. All plates were $5. Take out only. 4 small dumplings less than 1 oz and 1.25" width, which comes out to $1.25 per dumpling. The filling was mostly shrimp with possibly fish paste. One dumpling had more shrimp whereas, one dumpling had more fish paste. Taste was ok but seasoning was salty for my tastes.

I wish this location had more seating. It gets crowded around lunch. More vegetarian options would also be great. This location doesn't have tofu eggplant, but they do have the beyond orange chicken.

Found hair in my food this is disgusting and I need a refund

One of my favorite places in Oakland to grab some dim sum to go. It's usually a busy place, but the lines move nicely. There's 2 lines in there so make sure to line up in the right area. One line is to buy the roasted meats hanging in the front window of the store and the other line is for dim sum. There's one long table with a few chairs along the wall if you would like to rest a bit and chow down on what you just purchased. We always try to order the siu mai, chicken feet, tofu skin roll, baked char siu bao,and a few of the fried dumplings when we go. All of those are so flavorful and tasty. You don't need any sauces to go with any of those since they themselves are so delicious already, they're not too salty nor too oily or fatty. The baked char siu baos are a thing of beauty here. If you don't grab any dim sum then please grab yourselves the baos. The filling is plenty and the ratio of bun to meat is pretty good if you compare it to other places. I don't really care for the roasted meats myself(the roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, roast pork, etc) because I find them not as good as the other places. I don't necessarily like their seasoning and flavor. Stick with their dim sum and you should be good but of course this is just my opinion and maybe you would like their roasted offerings. The workers there are always helpful and friendly. There's usually 2 or 3 people to serve each line.

One of the only places in Oakland's Chinatown for cheap and affordable dim sum to-go, this is a no-frills hole in the wall spot. There's 2 lines, one for the roast duck and roast pork *Window Line*, and the other is for small stuff like dim sum *Dim Sum line*. This can be confusing if it's your first time, yes, there are signs, but they are hard to see when people blocked the signs while lining up. Great services from all the staff at Big Dish.
