Panda Express
Just had take-out lunch there. I am not sure if its under new management or something but the food was very poor. I ordered fired rice with mixed vegetables and chicken. The rice had no texture, and was almost liquid. There were very few vegetables and one piece of chicken. I couldn't eat it and tossed the food. I am out $11.45. Last time I will order there.
I went to buy my son take out bowl $8.10 he wanted an orange chicken small box side always like $2 we get to the counter it was $15.20 for a bowl and side I questioned it ?? sorry price increase that I should have gotten a plate it would have been cheaper ! Well I am done never again will I go there ! $5.40 for a small box of orange chicken!
Panda Express
The quality of food at this Panda Express can be hit or miss. My last order was great—everything tasted fresh, and the flavors were spot on. However, my most recent experience was the complete opposite. The food had a stale, old taste, and the meat looked different from before. Even the chow mein tasted off. If you’re considering ordering from this location, just be aware that consistency may be an issue.
I ordered a panda bowl with fried rice and mushroom for my wife and when she was eating she noticed it had mushroom, she's allergic to mushroom and had to take her in to get a shot! I called them to tell them the situation and all he said was im sorry it must've gotten mixed with another food that has mushrooms, just horrible never experienced this before....
Famous Wok
This food is absolutely disgusting. The orange chicken sauce is separate from the chicken and is added after you order it. It doesn’t taste good at all. Please don’t waste your money here. Take your $15 and go somewhere else. Even Panda Express makes better food. I’m telling you, not all mall Chinese food is the same, and this one is definitely not good at all. This food is not worth it.
We were already not trying to be being picky, and know that this place was only serving a purpose, but we couldn’t even eat our food. This place is NOT good.
Greentea Chinese Restaurant
If you're looking for run of the mill Chinese food in Ahwatukee catered to the local democratic, you found it. My visit was nothing memorable yet also nothing necessarily went wrong. We were greeted and our order was taken in a timely manner. Questions were answered. The tables were relatively clean for dine-in guests. The food labeled as spicy was indeed not spicy. General tso tofu nor orange chicken were indeed mild on the spicy scale. I did like that there were vegetarian options and healthier steamed options outlined specifically in sections on the menu. My friend said his egg roll that came with his combo plate lacked luster. The veggie fried rice was decent, had some flavor and seasoning, but wasn't the best I ever had. The prices were affordable, especially for the affluent Ahwatukee area. The service was good and overall we didn't leave dissatisfied.
I have lived in Ahwatukee all my life and am so happy you guys are here. I have been coming here i don’t know how long. I will not eat Chinese food any where else, I will drive out of my way to come here. Family owned, cleaned, and every dish is good!! Always!! Their egg rolls are to die for! Every time someone is sick in my house we get soup and rice. Thank you guys so much we love your food and service ! Also the most reasonable prices with big portions !!!
Panda Express
This panda serves very generous portions. My mushroom chicken was fresh, juicy, and flavorful. The rice could use more flavor and was slightly undercooked. The service was slow, with no one taking orders for over 5 minutes. In the end, mushroom chicken is still my favorite and keeps me coming back.
Went to Panda today at Chandler Mall and ordered a 2 entree meal and what looked like the manager was running the food line. She was very abrupt and not very friendly. Didn't greet and just asked what I wanted to order. She was very robotic. When I got to the register the cashier was just as bad. Didn't ask if I wanted a drink, just asked if the carton was my order and gave me my total. I gave her a $100 dollar bill. She just looked at me and said she didn't have change and asked for a card. I told her I didn't have a card. I just had the $100 bill because it was all I had on me since my group was at the playground and my nephew was getting pretzels with my card, not that she needed my life story. She just said "well I don't have change", she didn't even ask her manger for assistance. She just put my food behind her and asked for the next customer. Even the customer behind me said "Wow! That's crazy" . Had she been nicer and / or got her manager involved to see if they had change in the back, I would have told her to hold my food and grabbed my card from my nephew at the pretzel stand. Instead she chose to waste food. I have never had any issues in the past with this location. I have on multiple occasions paid with a 50 or a 100 dollar bill at this location. We are here at the mall a lot for the indoor playground and are members at Crayola Experience. So we tend to get food at the food court. I'm now glad that they just opened a Japanese and a Thai Express here, so I can pass on Panda going forward.
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
So I went here on Super bowl Sunday after a long day. Couldn't find very many establishments that were open because of Super bowl. I found this particular spot and got the Orange Chicken and Fried Wontons it was great and much better than my first experience in another location. The only thing I would change is the sweetness of the sauce it was a little much but great.
Went last week, hot honey chicken meal was pretty good but the host was rude and kept banging his knee against a metal cupboard like some nervous tick and i counted them do it over 100 times in 5 minutes. Because the food was tasty I tried once again this week. Different nicer host but only one chef and he kept literally checking his phone which was dinging with new texts while he "cooked" with his right hand. Couldn't finish fast enough and went and sat to text more. Guess what, that was last night and I've been terribly sick since (15 hours later my body evacuated everything). Avoid this place like the plague. Their corporate offered me NOTHING for getting food POISONED? HAHAHA
Bamboo Cafe
I was looking forward to getting lettuce wraps to go because I've been out of town for about 8 months. They are very good but I was quite surprised and disappointed with the small portion. Previously when I ordered these the box would be heavy and filled generously. Today it was maybe half as much and you could see the white bottom of the box all around the portion.
Order for pickup! Everything was really good except the potstickers. We didn't care for those. I recommend the Kung Pao Chicken. Yum! Noticed they have sake there so we'll be returning for sake bombs soon.
Panda Express
I had a fantastic experience at Panda Express today! The food was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly, but what really made my visit special was the exceptional customer service from Evan. He was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure my order was perfect. It’s always great to be greeted with a smile and a positive attitude, and Evan truly made my day. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. Thanks again, Evan!
So far always clean when I visit. They're mostly always busy. That's a good thing. Convenient location. Love the black pepper chicken my favorite. Tried the crispy chilli shrimp meh!
Hong Kong Asian Cuisine
Called in an order for the family knowing the woman there doesn't speak kindly. I'm not sure if there's a language barrier where kindness is lost in translation but she is very rude. The pen being thrown at us on the counter to sign the receipt was flawless. It takes practice being like that. The food is mediocre but its Chinese food, we love ordering it in. The most disappointing thing was the crab puffs. $6 for 8 of them and really lacking. We ended up throwing away 3 orders of them. Fried until borderline burned and the cream cheese filling was the worst part. I think they used the smallest spoon available to portion the filling. My wife loves these, they're basically her meal and we get them at every restaurant that sells them. We know what a real crab puff looks like. I'll include the picture I took of the BEST one we broke in half. Stay away from here. There's other places and definitely worth the extra driving.
Good location. Food okay. Broccoli was fresh. Egg drop soup too thick...maybe too much corn starch in it. Salt & pepper shakers greasy.
Beijing Restaurant
My husband and I came here for a date night and it was SO good! The food was moist, but not greasy and the flavors were amazing. We came without reading any of the reviews for a fun experience, and it ended up being amazing. New favorite!
Been looking for a good Chinese restaurant since moving back to the Valley of the Sun, and finally found Beijing. The sesame peanut noodles were delicious, the jalapeno chicken/steak/shrimp platter was amazing with a hell of a kick, and the seafood soup was a perfectly subtle blend of vegetables with shrimp and imitation crab. I plan to go back tomorrow and try out their chow mein and fried rice; I'm hoping to get something greasy and savory like the hole in the wall that used to be out here growing up. The staff deserve some love for being open Christmas Day, especially with how busy they were. Just don't expect much of a sit down experience, it's a small venue, but it's got a good vibe for a sit down lunch with a friend. All in all, absolutely recommend giving them a try!
Gold Chef
Small location with huge portions. Sat down for a lunchbreak and what I also got was dinner included. Great taste both after it was fresh and reheated. All tables were clean and ready too use. Only had 2 other people after I came through. Recommend the Jalapeño Beef for all you spicy lovers. Note I did spend enough for 2.
The food came out within five minutes of ordering, and it came out perfectly done! Extremely worth your money at lunch. The only thing missing from the establishment is flute covers of popular 80s songs, for which it only has four stars for atmosphere.
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
This location is the worse!!! Completely got my order wrong. I clearly said I wanted chicken and they gave me shrimp. Paid extra for fried rice and they didn't give me any. The person who took my order didn't even know what was on the menu. I called to tell them that my order was wrong, and they told me to come back. I live 12 miles away and with gas prices like this, there was no way that was happening! The restaurant itself seemed fine, or at least clean. But I would never come to this location again. *They do have gluten free options which is nice.
I walked in what I thought I would see was correct. An almost empty dining room. A more empty parking lot and this is Monday at noon on a work day. Before Pei Wei was purchased by a private equity firm It was good food under p.f Chang's. But like all private equity firms, they want to maximize profits, minimize waste and streamline everything. The downside of that is when you streamline food that tastes better with the preparation you lose product and more importantly you lose customers. Long gone is the Vietnamese chicken salad rolls which were extremely healthy and good to eat. They were expensive and I was willing to pay the price for them but from what I understand from the staff that I spoke to a while back is that it took too much time to prepare and that the upper management didn't like the manpower put into this product. Since I don't work for the company, I can't verify that 100%, but it feels about right. I've used the term before the pandemic. Everything has started to taste like everything and that's because so many private equity firms own so many fast food places. It's truly a heartbreaking thing to see. My kids used to love to go to Subway but now they view it with disdain. Instead they go to Jersey Mike's which right now is pursued by private equity firms to take over and I truly hope they don't do it. I did go inside. I did look at the menu and everything was almost a slight variation of everything. Why have more ingredients when the same ingredients can go into different name dishes but they're all basically using the same sauce or a slightly different protein. This review is not against the staff or the management of this location. They can't help it. This is a job that they do and I'm sure they do it well. But the people at the top are the people counting the pennies they simply don't care. This is just another product line that I do not see surviving another 10 years. I go out of my way now to make sure that I know of every privately owned deli and business. If I'm going to spend money there, I wanted to go to someone's dream and not some giant monolith eating machine that doesn't embrace a community but simply exists within the boundaries and leaves no legacy. Good luck out there!
