China One
During my visit to China One to buy pork fried rice and fried chicken, I observed that the woman preparing the food did not wash her hands, which raised significant concerns about hygiene. Additionally, I found several strands of hair mixed in with the food, further compounding my discomfort. This experience has led me to decide that this was my first and last time dining at this restaurant.
We were looking for a buffet but seen this place decided to check it out. So far everything is amazing... the pictures don't do any justice. It's a lot better than the pictures. Dinner combos were $10.50 and that included egg roll rice and choice of meat
Peking House
I enjoyed my visit to Peking House for lunch. I liked the idea behind the Chinese chips and dip (see picture) it was very original. The flavors were very good in the sesame chicken I had. The crab Rangoon was good, not quite great. Also they were a little less than generous with the rice portion while the chicken sesame portion was excellent. Even though the decor was dated, I would view it more as Classic. I was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly.
Went there for lunch, the fried rice is white rice with soy sauce on it literally! No onions no veggies no eggs no nothing. Ask for chicken and broccoli in Garlic Sauce this is what they give me the photo I uploaded. Will definitely not be recommending or going back. Thanks but no thanks đââïž
Chinese Kitchen
Chinese Kitchen is up and running in its own space. It used to be inside the Lake Miriam Publix but has reopened in the new location in the Lake Miriam Shopping Center next to Beef âO Bradyâs. Same friendly staff and delicious foodđ.
Chinese Kitchen which used to be inside the Lake Miriam Publix has reopened in the new location in the Lake Miriam Shopping Center! Same friendly staff and delicious food!
May Flower Chinese Restaurant
We've been looking for a 5star Chinese takeout and we found it! Service was friendly and food was on time and ready in 15-20min. We did a takeout order. Noodles has a nice note of garlic. General Tso and sesame chicken has great flavor! Egg rolls, and crab ragoon cooked to perfection with excellent flavor. Just the right balance of ingredients. Egg drop, dumpling and hot and sour soups we're top notch! Looking forward to next time!!
Don't sleep on Chinese chicken wings, especially with their honey sauce and shrimp fried rice. I wish I lived closer, I'd get it more often. The crab rangoon, broccoli with snow peas, and sweet and sour chicken we're all great. Portions are great too.
Panda Express
I love panda express! This location is super clean. The food is fresh, delicious, hot, and tasteful. The staff is very friendly and they make you want to come back for some more. I love the new bourbon chicken itâs absolutely amazing and worth a try.
Ty and Taniya were so friendly and engaging. This was our first visit to this location and weâll definitely be coming back.
El Chino Good Fortune
Bigger than average taco truck tacos, theyâre all $2.25 a piece. It is a Chinese Mexican truck so the flavors do mix. Chicken is more textured like a Chinese restaurant than a taco truck. Shrimp taco had cheese on it for some reason, which was gross. The Al Pastor meat was red (like Chinese pork). Green sauce was very good, red sauce was much like a chili oil and super hot. Everyone around us was getting Chinese food from them so maybe we just got the wrong stuff lol
The food was good. Tastie and a big portions. Service was bad. Waited almost 10 minutes while the cook ate then she made my food. I was the only customer. It was unacceptable. I won't be back.
China Chen's
We went for lunch and the food is absolutely delicious!! I had the Hunan pork and the wife had General Tso's chicken. Both were amazing, the fried dumplings and Rangoon were also amazing. I highly recommend China Chen's, it's our new go to place. The owner is a sweet lady too!!
Crab-Rangoon - 4/10 - These were crispy, but the filling wasnât very flavorful. However the sweet and sour sauce was pretty good. General Tsoâs Chicken - 8/10 - Chicken was slightly fatty, but the flavor was good. The sauce was on point, and there was plenty of it. If there was one thing I could change about the sauce, I would have had it a bit more spicy. There was only a couple broccoli though. The chicken fried rice was good, but not overly flavorful, which in my opinion was good because I donât want my rice overpowering the main dish. All in all, I give this an 7.5/10. I have had better, but I most definitely have had worse. I would recommend and I will be returning.
Beijing Chinese Restaurant
Customer service - 8.5/10 - Person over the phone was polite, and explained items on the menu to me. No issues in person at all. Egg roll - 7/10 - Not as big as others Iâve tried. Crispy wrapping, and tasty filling. Generals chicken - 3.5/10 - This may be my fault, because I ordered all white meat chicken, but the chicken was about 50% chewy, crispy, tough skin. All the chicken was coated in a nice spicy sauce, but it was still dry. The broccoli had no sauce and there was no sauce for the rice. I prefer my Chinese food to have a lot of sauce. So the spice level was nice, but the chicken was hard to eat. We may try this place again, but I wouldnât go out of my way to eat here again.
My first time ordering here and I will never order again. They literally tried to scam me out of money and items I paid for. Please pay attention to the difference between the menu prices and how much they actually charge you.
Pa' Los Chinos Restaurant Lakeland
We went here to pick up some food for a quick lunch. Having not been before, I wanted to go in and look at the menu to order. They have a counter where you place your order (dine in or to go), and then you can either go wait by the pick up window or grab a seat on the dining room. It was pretty busy when we went on a Sunday afternoon, so there was a bit of a wait to get the food, but that was ok. We got the beef with broccoli meal, which came with fried rice and French fries. We could have done without the fries, and will ask for double rice next time instead. The meat and the sauce was delicious. Full of great flavor, and cooked well. We will definitely go back to explore more of the menu.
Upon entering the establishment, I was initially taken aback by the Spanish music playing. I then perused the menu, as the young lady at the counter informed me that it was a Spanish/Chinese restaurant, a concept I had not previously encountered. Since it was my first time there, I inquired about the availability of lunch specials, but unfortunately, they did not offer any. Consequently, I decided to order a small portion of fried rice, which, according to the description, contained rice, shrimp, beef, egg, onion, and lettuce. I agreed to this combination and placed my order. The fried rice had such an appealing aroma that I couldn't help but enjoy a couple of bites while still in my car. It was, without a doubt, the most delicious fried rice I've ever had in Lakeland. This wonderful experience has made me want to return for a full meal much sooner than I had planned.
Shang Hai Chinese Restaurants
I used to visit this place since 2014. Couple years later I stopped going because the lady was always very dry and rude it was bad customer service. Sometimes I questioned myself if I should ask for a spoon or sauce because I knew if looks could kill, anyway my husband asked me for food and I was at the Publix so I stopped by. When I went inside to order can you believe that lady hasnât changed her attitude one bit. I ordered a chicken lo mein and pork fried rice. Iâve never seen lo mein as pale as I saw it today no sauce no flavor and they were overcooked the chicken no flavor the rice wasnât like before. I donât think they taste the food they sell at all. The bad experience reminded me why I stopped going. Today was my last time. That ladyâs attitude reflects in their food.
I decided to check reviews and also leave a review after my experience. This lady is rude for no reason. They better change because lately they have gotten bad ones. You will lose all your customers and close down. Be kind to people who help you get business. They will send others. As for me I won't be sending anyone. Your rudeness and handing me my soup with no spoon. I have never been treated rudely at any other Chinese restaurant.
Happy House
I had the shrimp egg fu young for the first time here and it was AMAZINGđ€© . Love their brown sauce (gravy) that goes in top of the omelette.
Iâm from NY/NJ area and have experienced great Chinese food. And I have experienced my worse Chinese food here in Florida. Happy House is the BEST Chinese food Iâve had in FloridaâŠ. You will be surprised how good this food is.
China Express
The food is really good here again! I am very impressed with the new ownership and my last two visits here! It always was wonderful growing up, and the new ownership really stuck to the old recipes here like they told me they were! They kept their word at that, big win! and I can tell-because this is just like I remember it growing up! Great noodles, rice, and egg rolls! Aa-and! best of all for me, and anyone who really likes General Tso's Chicken, the chicken is moist and tender and actually spicy like it's supposed to be! General Tso's is supposed to be a-spicy sweet dish! Unlike most places in this food genre now-a-days that only make it sweet, China Express here in Lake Wales, does it right! The noodles are even a bit al dente! Rather than a mushy or an overly soft noodle! Thanks so much China Express for the best in the genre around this area at the moment! I will definitely be coming back every chance I can get for this chicken! â€ïž Updated note: the fried rice is excellent! As well as the sweet and sour chicken! I am still working my way through the menu! If I find anything else noteworthy I will update the review as I go, but by far the service from Sarah has been really excellent! It's nice to have the best food in the mall with the best genuine positivity, smile, and Godliness to boot! The chef also touched base and made sure I loved the chicken and that it was spicy enough! I'd say this is the best in this genre for food in Lake Wales in general! You can tell they love what they do and put love into the food and service! Kudos-!!
The lo-mein was "sweeter" than expected and was not as fresh as the rice. The orange chicken didnt taste like orange chicken almost like a bbq flavor but it was still good! The rice was really good fresh and warm. The price was cheap for the pourtion that was given. The cashier/server was really nice and freindly! The tables in the food court were also very very clean.
