Liquid Ginger
Came here with high hopes for a tasty asian fusion option to add to my weekly rotation. The staff were friendly and welcoming, however the food was quite lackluster. I ordered the beef bulgogi and was served a plate of 90% onion 5% peppers and 5% chewy beef. After just having beque holic recently i’m insulted by the disrespect to Korean cuisine and im not even Korean! Also ordered a miso soup which was subpar and oddly lukewarm. Other than that the place was good just please don’t order the $20 onion plate.
Amazing food! Amazing service! Very affordable and big portions. I love this place. Great find. 10/10 and a vast menu for everyone!
Chopstix Cafe
This place had such a good quality with all foods that we ordered and a very nice view. Unless the weather is super humid and hot, I recommend sitting outside. Foods we ordered came out pretty fast and they all tasted great. The price was reasonable, thus, overall very satisfied. Would definitely comeback.
We enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary here. This restaurant’s conveniently located close to downtown Gainesville, yet right by the water to enjoy spectacular views and many birds and alligators. We enjoyed our food. The only negative was that the place overcharged on both entrees, drinks and appetizer by $2-5 on each dish, saying that they had to increase the prices and didn’t have time to print up new menus.
China Wok
Tried it today for the first time and it was great! Called in a lunch order of sweet & sour chicken for pick up. Customer service was friendly, order was ready when I got there. Premises were clean, employees were friendly & efficient and the food was delicious. My new favorite Chinese to-go place.
Sometimes you just crave some Chinese take away. Whether it's fried rice, lo mein, general tso's, egg rolls or hot and sour soup. This restuarant will satisfy that craving. Menu is pretty extensive for such a small place. There's seating for roughly 12 people. The main customer base is for take away. Personally I ordered a full portion of the general tso's, a quart of hot and sour soup, and the shrimp with mixed vegetables lunch special. After tax and tip it was $34. Flavors were good. Some minor critiques... The general tso chicken pieces were breading heavy, hot and sour soup was a bit thin, and the white rice that came with the general tso's was a bit hard. But none of this was surprising to me. If you're looking for basic well executed Chinese take away, China wok checks those boxes.
Sohao Cafe
Incredible, authentic Szechuan. Easily the best in town if you like real Asian food. If you plan to just get teriyaki chicken or pad Thai, don’t go here, there’s cheaper places that specialize in American Chinese food. Also, this place shines in family-style serving situations. Go in with 4-6 people and everyone order an entree, veggie or appetizer. You’re guaranteed to end up with more food than you know what to do with, but everyone goes home with leftovers. Win-win! The lunch specials are great too. Incredible chefs and very kind, knowledgeable servers who are always happy to explain dishes or provide guidance.
Delicious! Asian food really enjoyed beef and broccoli so much. Will be back for sure! Very clean and the food arrives quickly and was very fresh. Can't imagine why there are complaints. Only wish the overhead lights dimmed a little bit for atmosphere 🙂
BENTO Gainesville Midtown
Erin took wonderful care of us during this trip to Midtown Bento. She made sure our food came out fresh and quick, and she pointed out the combo meal to save me money. Kaching!
I had an outstanding experience at Bento in Gainesville, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, Erin provided exceptional service that truly made the meal unforgettable. She was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations from the menu. Her knowledge of the dishes was impressive, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, but Erin's hospitality was definitely the highlight of the visit. If you’re looking for fantastic food and even better service, make sure to ask for Erin!
Sensei Asian Bistro
I attended the Christmas Eve chef tasting experience and I must say that was the best dining experience I have ever had. (And I have been to plenty of places, restaurants etc). For private reasons I won’t display the photos of each courses, but if you attend such experience here you will receive surprises after surprises. Everything is exquisite from start to finish. They went above and beyond to deliver an unforgettable fine dining experience.
Dining at Sensei Asian Bistro was an extraordinary experience. The food was nothing short of exceptional, with each dish bursting with incredible flavors and impeccable presentation. Every bite was a delight, showcasing the chef's mastery and creativity. The service was equally outstanding. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu and thoughtful recommendations truly enhanced our visit. Overall, Sensei Asian Bistro blew my mind. It was one of the greatest dining experiences I've ever had, and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're looking for a top-notch meal with superb service, this is the place to go.
Sun Garden
What a pleasant experience! The atmosphere was very clean, quiet, and tastefully decorated. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered and commented on how they liked the food. We ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan, Moo Shu Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and the Spicy Beef with mixed vegetables.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sun Garden, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever visited! From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The menu features a fantastic array of dishes, each more tempting than the last. I started with the steamed dumplings, which were perfectly tender and bursting with flavor. For my main course, I opted for the Sweet and Sour pork, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The balance of sweet and savory goodness was spot-on, and the portion size was generous. What truly stood out was the attention to detail in every dish. The ingredients were fresh, and you could tell that a lot of care went into the preparation. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, making sure my dining experience was exceptional. Overall, Sun Garden exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of Chinese cuisine or a newcomer looking to explore, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings!
Panda Express
Great food, but worst customer service ever from employee Woody. Continually rude to me ever single week and refrained from writing this review because I do understand that people have bad days. However, today was the worst customer service I received from him, let alone anyone. Never had anyone this rude to me. Id be more than happy to discuss it with management, but dont plan on going back to Panda if he remains there. Unfortunately, i was written up at my job which could have been avoided if he was receptive and not rude. Please let me know if he no longer works there.
Gives the least quantity out of all the Panda express I've visited.
Happy China
Everything was very bad. I called at 11:30am to order and pick up and the food was delivered to me 40 minutes later. The taste was very far from Chinese food. No Chinese restaurant takes so long to deliver food. This was the first time I was given fried rice with parboiled rice, the sesame chicken was drowned in sauce and the spring roll was very unpleasant. Unfortunately, I will not return to this place. 1 star because there is no other lesser option.
We had to wait a little bit for our takeout but it was worth it! The food is absolutely delicious. Fresh, made when ready- we are so pleased with the cuisine here! Also thankful we live close by. This is our new Chinese spot!
Panda Express
Our first time at this location. Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! It has a table perfect for a large group or family. Only wish they had brewed iced tea available.
The food and service were good. The manager was actually cleaning the customer area and wiping the tables down while we ordered. I like the orange chicken, My wide gets the honey walnut shrimp we both got fried rice and lo mein. The service staff was friendly and helpful, this was the first time at this store. I will go back it was a pleasurable experience.
Hunan Cafe
It’s been years since I been here but definitely love the food here. Everything is well seasoned and never over seasoned. Never done the take out usually I dine in. 10 stars ⭐️
11/10. food is amazing and i come here all the time for their $10.70 lunch specials.
Asian Wok & Grill
The food is usually good. I'm partial to the mushroom chicken and bourbon chicken, as well as their vegetable lo mein as a side. I cannot, however, recommend the spicy shrimp. The flavor is good, but the ratio of batter to shrimp is terrible. Also, the batter is very dense and kind of like a bland hush puppy. Sauce flavor is good and so is the spice level. I'd probably go with the spicy chicken if you're looking for some heat.
Left ne with the Sad feeling of still craving Chinese food after eating Chinese food. Rice, bland beyond bland, no flavor. Bourbon chicken tastes like grilled chicken. Orange chicken, flavor wise okay however VERY over cooked. Lo mein was the best part, yet still very UNDER seasoned, kind of like a plain wet noodle taste and texture with maybe a tiny hint of I think teriyaki, flavor so weak I cannot be sure. Spring rolls taste like soggy over cooked cabbage, but at least I tasted something, I guess. I was clear I had never been, so I was going off suggestions by the employee and customers. I was hoping for tea to be offered but if it was then I didn't see it, didn't see a sign and surly was not asked if I wanted a drink. This was over $12, plus tip, so about $15 total, kind of wish I had gone elsewhere, well I do wish I did. Best part about my experience was the other customers. One suggested spicy chicken, I was worried about too spicy, now I see flavor isn't their strongest thing I probably should have. Another customer suggested orange chicken. I do not eat much so my plan was dinner for my kids, however, I will be throwing this out and I'll take them to Wendy's for some dinosaur play dough I guess. Disappointed to have wasted money. As a single mom to three special needs kids, I try to treat myself once a month to a good meal that I eat in quiet while they are in school, it's sad this was it.
