Half chicken w spicy combination fried rice 10/10 all day everyday with a steak n cheese roll best take out spot in Alexandria get right don't get left !

I’m not excited about writing this review but I have to share my experience. I was in town visiting for the weekend and wanted some Chinese food. I found this place online and the reviews were pretty good. I was excited about what I was about to order, as soon as I stepped up to the counter the lady instantly was rude. I could not understand where this rudeness was coming from. The only thing I can think is she wasn’t happy with my skin tone. I turned around and walked out. I will never spend my money where I’m not wanted.

I’ve ordered from this place many times and never had an issue. Today I ordered for delivery 3 hot and sour soups and kung pao chicken. In the photo you can see what I had almost swallowed in the first hot and sour soup. It’s a metal piece. I don’t know what it is but I think I would have been in the hospital had I swallowed it. The penny in the picture is for perspective: it wasnt in the soup

Went there for the first time last week and was very impressed. Got the Lemon Chicken and the combination rice noodle with shrimp. Both were made fresh to order. The Lemon Chicken was a large portion and was unlike most American Chinese food was NOT the least bit greasy. Noodles were tasty, fresh and also a generous portion. Will definitely go back.

Ordered Chicken Chowmein & Schezwan chicken. Was given wrong order AFTER confirming the phone number for pickup. It was raining so could not go back to return it. And whatever was given had marginal chicken and no taste whatsoever. Just had lots of veggies in some tasteless sauces. Won’t be ordering again.

I ordered the beef with mixed vegetables, fried wontons, and fried tofu with mixed vegetables. The food was meh. I did not love the food or hate the food. The portion size was small considering it is Chinese food. There was a lot of liquid in the beef with mixed vegetables. Fried wontons was the best dish out of all three, but there was not a lot of meat in the wonton. All this cost $30 and I do not think it is worth $30.

Not bad service! They weren’t rude or anything, and the food looked descent. I got the beef in pepper sauce and beef teriyaki for appetizer. The teriyaki sticks were horrible. Some parts of it was like beef jerky, and the taste and texture was off! The main entree wasn’t horrible but the meat certainly wasn’t beef, not even the lowest grade of beef. And there was something off about the taste of the meat in that entree as well. The food in my opinion is barely edible and this is coming from a Bostonian who has eaten at many Asian restaurants in the Boston area and spent a lot of time in NYC. I know what good Chinese food is like, even Americanized Chinese food. I don’t wanna know what the meat really was, but aside from all that it was super expensive! 31 dollars for an entree and a side! I definitely won’t be back!

A solid option for some authentic Chinese food in Crystal City. I've been getting take out from here for a few years. Didn't know they were under new management until I stopped in, but they've updated the menu and it says they have a new Hong Konger chef. They still have some authentic dishes as well as standard American-Chinese fare, and they've added some Thai. The "Mala" section of the menu is my jam. I got the Dry Pot Cabbage, Egg and Peppers, and a wonton soup. The Cabbage and the Egg were delicious and *seriously* spicy, just how I like it. Tons of fresh peppers in the eggs. The wonton soup was pretty good too. I got take out, but they also have a nice sit down space and a full bar. Only complaint, I would love if they got a better location with more parking. For now, it's usually easier to just get delivery. I'll definitely go back. I need to try the spicy double cooked pork belly again, with the new chef!

So delicious! I got the gluten free woks delight. The chicken was so moist!!! And the chef went out of her way to cook the edamame with my gluten free food so I could eat that it as well which was beyond nice :)

Seriously amazing food! We consistently get sesame tofu (and other tofus), and it is incredibly delicious. This is our go-to for takeaway, and somewhere we get food from anytime someone visits. And, the owners are so incredibly nice!

I walked in at 10:05pm and they closed at 10:30pm. They were not inviting at all when I walked in. The manager immediately snapped at me and said, "You're our last customer. This is all that we have left." Like I dont have a choice of what to choose. I just feel like, as an establishment, it doesn't matter how close to the end of the night. You guys should be able to give full service. The food looked very unenticing. They had barely anything left, and he walked over and tossed the food like it was okay. I'm disappointed because I go to this place a lot and the service always falls short. The care that is put into the values of this place and its service is very low, and it just puts a bad taste in my mouth. I hope you guys will see this . Please make some sort of assertive change because the way I just walked in there and walked right out is not fair to anyone.

Ordered delivery via Grubhub. Swift service, good food, good price.

Perhaps the best shrimp egg foo young that I've ever had. The vegetable spring rolls were beautifully light and crispy. Everything was fantastic. I will definitely be ordering delivery from there again.

I used to enjoy this place. Could not wait until I left the gym to grab a bite. But the last few times, terrible. And the last time is what prompted this review! $50 for a barely edible order. The chicken appeared to be yellowing on the inside. The rice could not have been fresh, and was literally clumping togethee. Hot and sour soup? Cold, and even gives the term "sour" a sour face smh. I will not be eating here again, and am accepting recommendations for a 5/5 Chinese restaurant on Richmond hwy. pictures included.

We have always loved Peking Kitchen/express and frequently order from them because of their fresh taste, generous portions, and consistent quality. Our usual favorite is Beef Broccoli and Mixed Fried Rice, which has always been a great choice. However, our recent experience was quite disappointing. We placed an order over the phone, and unfortunately, the quality did not match our expectations. The Beef Broccoli was mostly broccoli and watery sauce, with barely any beef to be found. It felt like we ordered “Broccoli with beef-flavored water” instead! Similarly, the Mixed Fried Rice did contain prawns, but was missing both chicken and beef, making it far from the balanced dish we expected. Online and phone orders should be handled with more care. Customers trust that they will receive exactly what they pay for, and such inconsistencies can be frustrating. I hope Peking Kitchen takes feedback seriously and improves their quality control. We love their food, but experiences like this make us hesitant to order again.

Service is TERRIBLE, they gave me the wrong order multiple times..I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them again and once again the gave me the wrong order adding vegetables that I am allergic to after I explained more than one on the phone while ordering. I repeated the order several times and they still got it wrong. When I returned the order for them to repair it… they removed the cold chicken ( from me having to get home and come back) and put it in a bag with a smaller portion may I add …They just lost a customer because I definitely won’t be eating there again.

We just ordered and the amount of food for the price is very convenient. As for the food it tasted very amazing. I got the chicken lo mein and general ts chicken. Beyond full I can still feed 2 more people. Mind you I got the lunch special! They were quick to deliver.

I want to share my experience about the China Cafe located at 1039 West Glebe Road Alexandria VA, 22305. I went into the restaurant, and order Beef Lomein lunch special, and Orange Chicken lunch special. The price was great. The Beef lomein was not Beef. The texture and the taste upset my stomach immediately. The Orange Chicken was extremely dry. I was too far away to take the food back and inquire about a refund. The Beef was so bad, that I'm going to contact the health department to see if they are using actual Beef, or something else!!! I do not like criticizing business because everyone needs to earn a living. But please, do the right thing. If it's not Beef, just say Something Lo mein.

Great place for quick meals, great variety and good prices, but carry out only and I have to remember they close either Monday or Tuesday and sometimes both days, I mean we all need our rest. I love the chicken wings, always an old time favorite, but sticking to the healthy side shrimp and vegetables is always delicious and the hot and sour soup.

Honestly, I don’t know where the good reviews are coming from for this place. And I mean this honestly, not trying to be pretentious but I’m a local guide so trust me here: the food is NOT good. Sure, there are complaints about the “lady at the front” but look, if the food were edible it wouldn’t matter. Unfortunately, it’s not. That smell when you walk in? Notice that? It’s the OLD grease they use. As a result everything tastes like it. Skip the trip, go somewhere else.

VERY good Chinese food. Probably some of the best Chinese food in the DMV. This is coming from someone who’s had a lot of Chinese food in NY and has high standards. The food is fresh, tasty. Price is definitely good for this area. Portions are above average. I’ve had a couple shrimp dishes which are usually an indicator of whether the place is using cheap ingredients or not. Shrimp that came with my udon noodles were huge, plentiful, obviously fresh. Gentleman who works in the back is very nice. Also open late which is a huge plus as every other Asian restaurant in town closes by about 10 or 11. Please note the place is behind 7/11 inside the four mile food company building.

Nice staff but terrible experience ordering from this "restaurant" that took 1.5+ hrs and someone stole my order even while I was already waiting there for my food. Do not pick up. Only do delivery. Half of my order was wrong but the correct portion was good. I ordered on Uber Eats for pick up and spent over 20 min trying to find the "restaurant" in a somewhat sketchy area near a gas station at night. I tried calling the restaurant multiple times to get directions, which were poorly explained. Turns out this is not a physical restaurant - you have to go to the Uber Eats pick up waiting locker room behind the 7/11 where there are multiple "restaurants" but they only put your order in a locker for pick up. By the time I arrived my food should've already been ready but it took over an hour for them to finally get my food - I had to call multiple times and they started avoiding my calls. And even when they told me my food would be ready, they ended up giving it away to somebody else. The staff member had to deliver it later on and was very apologetic nearly another hour later. Half the food order was completely wrong but the part that was correct was good. *** Gave this another try with delivery and they got the order right this time. Food was really good, especially kung Pao chicken and lo mein.
