Denny's
Veterans Day visit today. Thank you Dennys for taking care of our veterans. We greatly appreciate you. Your food here and staff was amazing. Food and service was excellent too. Very clean store inside and out. Our waitress was amazing. Thank you again Dennys and the staff for the wonderful hospitality. Keep up the great job.
I stayed in at the hotel across the street for a week, and every day for Breakfast and Supper I went to this Dennys. Much better atmosphere than the other restaurants around, in my opinion, and Amanda and the other servers were always attentive and pleasant. Absolutely fantastic experience! I will be back.
Tokyo Cowboy
In my opinion the food was decent, the braised beef is like a curry dish but alittle strong in salt in my opinion, the pork belly was my favorite dish out of the lunch menu as it has a sweetness of hosion sauce but the rice fit it nicely, the Mac and cheese was alittle too mild and did not have alot of flavor. I would say it is alittle long on getting food even though we only had 2 other tables that was here at the restaurant. Over I could come back to try their dinner menu to get a better comparison.
We specifically chose this restaurant for our dinner before watching the Sailor Moon Live at the Majestic Theater on a Tuesday night. Japanese and Texas fusion and here for it!! It was quite busy for a Tuesday dinner at 6pm but service was great! We git sat down right away but we also reserved a table. Atmosphere at this place was vibrant, the restaurant has this unique walls of cactus wallpaper but details of a Japanese vibe reminding me of an older house or traditional houses in Japan. Very chic and modern. Our server was attentive and food came out pretty quickly too. We are a group of three, ordered their Kimchi salad, Krab rolls, Furikake fries, Kaarage chicken, Dashi Corn Waffle and Shrimp noodles and their desserts Matcha tres leches and Yuzu Meringue Tart. Everything was pretty good but our favorites were the kimchi salad, Kaarage chicken and the Matcha tres leches. The corn waffle I think for me surprised me coz I'm used to a fluffy waffle but that was me not realizing it's a corn waffle not flour. Lol! But I just didn't like the harder texture. My friend's daughter didn't like the texture of the Yuzu tart but her mom loves it! đ Portions were just right for the price I think and can't go wrong doing family style eating! Thank you! I recommend this place for a Japanese and Texan fusion!
Sukeban Sushi & Champagne Bar
Had a nice experience on a date night at Sukeban, on late November 2024! Despite the small place being a little packed that day, we got attentive service. The restaurant has a nice, cozy atmosphere. The pork gyoza appetizer was good and crispy. I went for their Philadelphia Roll, and they were accommodating when I asked to remove the avocado. Using goat cheese instead of cream cheese on the roll is a great switch-up on a classic, and I really enjoyed it. I would've liked a little more fish inside the roll, but at the same time, I appreciate the size of the pieces as they are on point. My partner thought he didn't like sushi but was surprised after trying a piece of my roll and actually liking it! He ordered the chicken teriyaki, which was a generous portion. For dessert we shared the fried ice cream, an interesting warm and cold treat. All in all, everything was nice and we would probably go back. Their happy hour sounds like a good deal.
I've been homesick and really missing good fresh sashimi (I'm from Vancouver BC where we have some of the best seafood in the world). I found this place online and it's super cute and clean inside. I love the dark moody ambiance mixed with the colorful murals. I ordered three types of nigiri: fatty salmon, scallop, and yellowtail. They came out quickly and were decent, although I know that I have high expectations because of the seafood we get back home. The raw seafood here has a different texture than what I'm used to, it was really mushy and warm. I have never had sashimi like that! I also ordered the miso soup which was nice and hot, but it was a little too salty for my liking. Big sized portion though. The staff were super nice and attentive. I saw the chef scratch his nose with his fingers though, and not wash his hands, which made me a little grossed out!
Mi Mexico Restaurant Jalisco Style # 2
A Hidden Gem for Comfort Food Lovers On a rainy, muggy day like today, nothing hits the soul quite like a steaming bowl of caldo de res...and Mi Mexico Restaurant delivered in every way. Tucked away just beyond the train tracks on a bustling street, this spot is a true hidden gem for those craving authentic, home-cooked Mexican flavors. The caldo de res arrived piping hot, filled with tender, fall-apart beef and perfectly soft vegetables that soaked up every bit of the rich, bold broth. The seasoning was on point & deep, hearty, and layered with flavor that felt like it had been simmering for hours. Paired with fluffy, soft homemade corn tortillas, it was a meal that instantly transported me to childhood memories of comfort and warmth. And let me tell you about the rice...it was 100% perfect. Light, fluffy, and flavorful, I couldnât contain myself! I had to dump it all into my caldo, and it took the whole dish to the next level. This place is the real deal, and I already know Iâll be back ha ha probably tomorrow! If youâre in the mood for something that warms both the body and the soul, run to Mi Mexico before they run out!
Had a great experience at a local restaurant. Mi Mexico is not much to look at, but the interior is beautiful, new, and spacious. Our aerver was great, she took care of our request and was friendly. Our plates were large, reasonably priced and tasted great. We came after the lunch rush but before the bar was open, I think next time we will enjoy a few drinks with a dinner visit.
Shangrila
So today my kids and I had dinner here. We were definitely excited to see that they opened up their dining again. Let me tell you food was so good and definitely fresh and hot and we definitely got a lot of food for a great price. We all brought home left overs. Service was great our waitress was on top of everything. Definitely enjoyed dinner and will definitely be back
Shrimp taste overcooked , I thought it was just one so I bit into another & yeah no it was not good , rice was cool not fresh , I thought it was fried rice but it was just rice.As u can see I didnât waste my time even biting into the egg roll . I wouldnât waste my money!

Chinese shrimp rice is very delicious!
Pho Garden Vietnamese & Chinese Cuisine
Been there over and over again and never fail me. Service was quick and very effective. We love the Pho. fried spring rolls and Lunch Specials. Pho broth was flavorful, veggies for condiment was fresh n crunchy. This is a real comfort food in Brooks City Area.
The food was so good! Service was perfect, Ruben was our waiter, and he did an awesome job! I ordered the pho doc biet and the orange chicken! The serving sizes are pretty good for the price!
SAT Asian Seafood Restaurant & Bar Main Store
Lily was an amazing server. The food was delicious!!! We got to seafood boil and orange chicken with fried rice. Seasoning on the boil was really good. Medium spice level does have a kick to it with was good for someone who can handle alittle heat.
I had high hopes for this restaurant, but overall, the experience was disappointing. The service, aside from our waitress Dee, was horrible. Dee was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff and overall service left a lot to be desired. The establishment itself felt neglected and in need of some serious love and care. It lacked the welcoming, well-maintained atmosphere youâd expect when dining out. The seafood boil was the highlight of the meal, it was flavorful, and worth the money. However, the pineapple chicken was a complete letdown. It was poorly prepared. If youâre going for the seafood boil and happen to get Dee as your server, you might have a decent experience. Otherwise, the service and overall condition of the place make it hard to recommend.
Pho Plus Vietnamese Restaurant
The service provided by Kelly and the quality of the food was absolutely phenomenal! 10/5 stars, highly recommend this food and restaurant! Definitely coming back and becoming a loyal customer to Pho Plus â„ïž.
Pho taste is really good. Perfect for family time in San Antonio. Also Pad Thai and eggroll good.
Q Hibachi Express
After watching a food review video on this place, thought we'd give it a shot. It was actually very good. And for the price, it was a great deal. Normally , hibachi is pricey. We ordered and dined it. I got the chicken hibachi with fried rice. My husband got the beef hibachi with the noodles. Both plates were very good. Hot and fresh for sure. We ordered the spring rolls. They were good, but a little too greasy for me. They were ,however, fresh. I wouldn't order them again. Would definitely return. Service with a smile. Very nice guy. Place was very clean.
Got the hibachi combination with noodles+1.50 and the California roll. It was not too bad noodles were missing some flavor but for the price ehh not going to complain too much. California roll was mediocre, they could've shredded the fake crab they left it in chunks again you get what you pay for.
Wild Wing Station - Walzem
Simple counter-service restaurant where everything is served in foam containers and condiments serving size packets, fountain soft drinks or bottles are available, staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. On this first visit, we didn't even have wings, opting for chicken tenders and fried catfish, but we can't wait to come back for those two dishes alone. The meats were really good, but we couldn't get enough of the crinkle fries (with seasoning) which were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. I also really enjoyed the hush puppies and coleslaw which remind me of Long John Silver's.
I called in my order of 50 piece bone in wings. I was on Austin Hwy when I called in my order, so I knew there would be a wait when I arrived. There was an undecided couple in front of me, but I was finally able to pay for my order. They always show you the food before bagging it, and I think the chicken I got was malnourished because my 50 piece was the tiniest wings I have ever seen in my life! The flavors were delicious, but why were the wings so small this time? I wish the Austin Hwy location was opened on Sundays, but I'm glad Walzem Rd wasn't closed.
Beijing Express Chinese Restaurant
Never go wrong with ordering # 18. You get lemon chicken plus sweet & sour pork all in one meal with rice .... Love thier food. I've been coming to this restaurant for so many years, and it still has not disappointed me....
The portioning was more than enough, and the pricing was reasonable. The beef with broccoli đ„Š was good, but slightly over salted. The rice was perfectly cooked and flavored. They take phone orders, but have a drive thru to pick up your order.
