Got take out as they don't have a dine in option. Ordered the sweet and sour shrimp. What I got was 8 pieces of deep fried, battered shrimp and the sauce. For $17. Steamed Rice was an additional $4. I wish I would've taken pictures. My expectation was to have lightly battered, or grilled shrimp and vegetables, and some pineapple in the dish for that price point. I stopped at the store and got some frozen stir fry veggies to add to this to make it a worthwhile meal. That dish could be improved. I won't be going back, my cooking is better.

Lucky 7 used to be banging, we went today after a few months absence and it was like no where near as good, Got chicken and mushroom and it was like 4 pieces of chicken and the rest was green pepper and celery. Man just not happy paying 30 bucks for dinner to get a buncha peppers and celery.

Not what I ordered! It's been at least a year since I've had any money for takeout and I've been craving Chinese food for months. I ordered the #5 combination of egg roll, sesame chicken, kung pao chicken & pork fried rice. I can't imagine this is what they'd call sesame chicken. It's like sweet & sour chicken. Really not what I've been craving at all. It's good, but still, could have been better to have what I wanted. If this *is* their idea of king pao chicken & sesame chicken then that would be one less star from me because that's different than what it would be at every other Chinese place in the country that I've been to. And I've lived in a lot of states. That's also the weirdest egg roll I've ever seen.

The Fried rice was decent, not consistent in quality! The first time I went there it tasted really good second time just didn’t taste good at all. The crab puffs first time around were good size and unfortunately tasted way too much like crab, second time around they were tiny and tasted more creamy. The service was awful, kind of slamming plates on the table and not checking up.

This was Bland Americanized Chinese Food. Maybe my expectations were a bit high but even so, the food was bland for both dishes. It is unfortunate for me to say but your money is better spent on Panda Express. I really wanted to like this place. I loved that they served good tea at the beginning but as we ordered our meal, we found that the food tasted very bland and tasted nothing like the items we ordered. The ambiance was alright and i saw reviews that said it is “authentic” but this place is far from it. Just food wise, i did not like it. Service wise, okay. Ambiance, is eh.

Worst chicken I’ve ever had taste like bland chicken with sugar on top supposed to be sweet-and-sour

Pictured is the orange chicken (#12 on the menu). While the rice is fine, the orange chicken was the problem. It was very over cooked and lacked any real pieces of chicken which made it hard to chew or enjoy.

Sorry, but this is a huge no. Weird unsanitary looking conditions, rude service, and strange dried out inedible food that went straight into the trash.

Not greasy. Food ready in 20 minutes. No complaints. Will be going back... Sesame chix and spare ribs were good, general tsao could use a little more kick, all in all, for an in town Chinese spot it takes the 👑.

Tried this place over the one in town. Absolutely terrible sweet and sour chicken. Thick uncooked breading, bland dry rice. Just very generic stuff. We go to Durham now. Best place around.

Delicious food for a great price :-) Great customer service, nice people and great food

Very appreciative for being open Thanksgiving when I am stuck in a hotel with 3 small children and limited options for dinner. Mongolian chicken was fresh and amazing, kids devoured teriyaki chicken and shrimp lo mein. Fried rice was just ehh and fortune cookies were stale. Will definitely check them out when back in the area.

When you walk into the place it does not give the appearance that your meal will be the best Chinese food in Portland!! Have order from there four times with each order being a wonderful delicious meal made just as we ordered! The male working the counter (I believe the husband) comes across as not very friendly. If you arrive before your order is really and the place is not busy he opens up in conversation and is a super friendly gentleman. Parking is on street and very easy.

Consistently one of my favorite takeout spots in and around Portland. The food is always flavorful, the people who own and operate the spot are kind and caring. I often order the American fusion go-to: general tsos chicken. The chicken is crispy, the sauce is tangy and rich, and it comes with a hefty serving of broccoli and white rice. I love the vegetable lo main, pork fried rice, and pork fried dumplings. The egg rolls and bbq pork app are my favorite in town — highly recommend asking for the spicy mustard! Whenever I’ve asked for a recommendation for a new dish, I am always pleasantly surprised. I love that we have such an awesome a family run establishment in the neighborhood. We moved out of town a while back and will still drive in to pick up (20/30 mins away). They’re always helpful and accommodating with pickup times and the food is still hot and delicious when we get home. I hope they continue to thrive and serve up our favorite takeout. It’s nice to see their friendly faces whenever we go.

A cute little quaint place with FANTASTIC food! Only has 3 tables, one of which we sat and ate at. We had chicken fingers, rangoons, bone in spareribs and pork friend rice, all of which were delicious! Highly recommend!

I was looking for somewhere for lunch as I work in the area and wanted something different. I’d never heard of China Taste but am so glad I stopped here! Frankly I think most Chinese food restaurants in the Portland/Gorham area are just okay, but this lunch was AWESOME. I got the lunch special with General Tso’s, crab Rangoon and pork fried rice with a soda, and holy COW. Everything was fresh, good portion sizes, and delicious. Probably some of the best Chinese food I’ve had and it looked beautiful — I literally HAD to take a photo haha. If you’re in the area for lunch, get your takeout here! I’m excited to do takeout for my family for dinner some night.

Not great Chinese Food. The chicken tasted like it was barely cooked and it just didn’t feel as if they cared about what they are cooking for people. 2 star review and I doubt they will stay in business longer then 10 more years.

For the introverted people, it’s quiet and nice! There was a specific type of food I was looking for and I found it here and it tastes the same so it was good! The portions were good for 2 people and definitely recommend.

The fried rice with chicken was very delicious, and so was the Schisandra pear honey tea. The flavor was incredible. I can recommend Great Tong Chinese Food.

Friendly service and good food. Great portions for the price range and awesome veggie options! Would definitely come back and try more from the menu (pictured: vegan xian’rbing and cold noodles)
