New China
This place use to be good. It once had a nice Aroma when entering the establishment. Now the food is bad down to the fried rice, the smell stinks. And the service is awful. The dad ran my card and literally threw it on the counter and walked away. My previous visit the mom tried to convince the daughter to give me a order of sweet n sour chicken someone ordered and did not pick up. I refused and that maybe the reason the dad threw my card at me today. If you have bland taste buds you'll love this place. I've had better and will never visit here again. They don't know I understand everything they say as a African American woman. I don't taste how they are still in business. Gross!!!!!!!!
Fast, hot, great quality takeout. Very good family atmosphere for dine-in. Great prices and great service. I will continue to eat here regularly, they're solid.
Panda
Food is always great, and service is always good. Definately the ONLY Chinese restaurant we eat at in Gallatin.
One of our fave Chinese places. Love that it’s family owned as well.
Peking Chinese Restaurant
This was the worst Chinese food me and my boyfriend have ever had. He had the general chicken (general tsos) and it was the worst flavor and chicken I’ve ever tasted and he agreed. I got the chicken and broccoli and it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t good either. It just isn’t normal Chinese food. The fried rice isn’t typical fried rice either and also didn’t have good flavor. I’m not sure how this has so many good reviews but this definitely wasn’t worth it. He also got an egg roll and didn’t like it. Our meal was $50 and this place is NOT worth $50 for 2 meals. Won’t be a returning customer.
Horrible, Soggy items that are supposedly deep fried, flavorless noodles and rice and if that wasn’t enough fall 4 fortune cookies were stale. Not sure how this place has been around since the 80’s. They should know better.
China Wok
Got Beef and Broccoli. Very salty with MSG and beef was so tough could not chew. Seems they forgot the importance of cutting against the grain for a more tender bite. Inedible due to lack of attention to detail.
Customer service was good, food was lack luster. I got the combo sesame chicken, the chicken was pretty good but there were about 5 peas in the rice and the "chicken fried rice had boiled chicken, rice was not fried. Also, got the chicken rice soup, that was bland! NO veggies, boiled chicken, wonton straps were stale and tasteless.
Hunan Express
The staff is really nice but the food was very disappointing. I ordered combination fried rice. Seemed like a safe choice to get a feel for the restaurant. But it was the most bland fried rice ive ever had. It was completely under salted. No flavor at all.
The best egg drop soup. It’s so simple, but perfectly seasoned every time. I also love their General Joe’s (Taos) and Orange Chicken which I order with white rice on the side. The chicken is always crispy on the outside, but still tender. So good. Don’t pass on the egg drop soup!
China King
Fantastic! We recently moved to the area and the last couple Chinese restaurants have not been up to par. We saw China King when went to Food Lion next door and had to try it. I love BBQ spare ribs which are hard to find in TN. These were fabulous with fried rice, not greasy but flavorful. Excellent sweet sauce. My son had Pork Lo Mein which he said was great. The egg drop soup was excellent! We have found our weekly go to with nice lunch specials and friendly staff. Our pick up order was ready on time and still warm when we got home. Thank you so much!!
First & LAST time going here. Not only is this build COLD SO WAS MY FOOD. This place was busy but my food had no business being cold. The service was quick. I live less than 3 minutes from the location. I won’t be back. Unacceptable. I can’t even share my receipt so you know I went and paid for a very cold meal here.
Chopstix Chinese Restaurant
Chicken on Sticks and Jumbo Shrimps were Average and chicken was overcooked. In the lunch combo, hot and sour soup was bad. Kung Pao chicken, Pepper chicken with Onions was good and the flavour was tasty. Also there are many varieties of Food with cheap options.
Chopstix has the best Chinese food around. Plus, you get a free egg roll with your order. I moved here from California 16 years ago, and I've had a hard time finding good Chinese food.
Steam Boys
Food was great. Loved the soup dumplings. The beef soup is good, but if your order “medium spice”, it’ll have a kick. Seared bao were good, never had one seared before. Great place to eat. Glad it’s hear in Franklin. Definitely coming back.
The food's appearance was deceiving, as it looked far better than it tasted. None of the baos were fresh. The fried chicken bao is about the equivalent to a McChicken sandwich. The large steamed bao had just one tiny meatball inside, which was supposedly 'beef shank' according to the menu. The beef noodle soup did have a flavorful broth, but there was an inedible piece of 'tender beef shank' in my soup that was as tough as a tire.
ChangHong Spicy Hot Pot (长虹麻辣烫)
When you enter, you feel a very nice environment, which is perfect👌 In the tables, you have sticks, straws, and extra ingredients you can add to your meals. Also, in the infront desk, they have 3 screens where you can see the menus and choose whichever food you want to order, but also they have that option in paper 😉 Food in short words DELICIOUS. They take their time to cook,so waiting it's worthy. Restrooms ( Ladies) So clean and smells great , so feel free and fine to use the restroom. Overall, Good Place , I will be visiting them again soon, Happy New Year💕
A wonderful restaurant with lovely staff and delicious food! I ordered the mapo tofu, knowing that most dishes on the menu are family style portions, meant for sharing. It was one of the best mapo tofu dishes I had in Franklin and it itched the craving I had for ages. The amount of food you get is well worth the cost. The staff were very helpful in taking my order over the phone and communicated well about the wait time for pick-up. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions I had. I can't wait to order again here! :D
Hot Wok
Flavors are back! I saw Manny at Hot Wok and he was showing the new owners all his recipes he used. So glad to have the flavors finally back. The last owners never did capture what Manny did. One of my favorite places to eat!
Never going to Panda Express again. You can taste the food here is made from scratch. You have to try the egg rolls. Not the corporate skinny ones. I definitely recommend
King Chef
Was very surprised at how good the food was at King Chef. I'm pretty sure everything is made to order, and not just sitting in a pan in the back. My food tasted very fresh, very good, very hot, and plenty of it. General Tso combo with soup is really good. If you love standard Chinese food, be prepared to be very happy with King Chef because it was much better!
So I tried this place because of the reviews and I have mixed feelings about this place that is making me reconsider if I want to go there again. I ordered the Chicken Chow Mein, - This was very good, enjoyed it. I also ordered the hot and sour soup. I have definitely had better. The soup was very thin and watery. I could only spot a few mushroom and a couple of pieces of tofu. The rest was all soup and again it was very thinned out. The next thing we ordered was the sweet and sour chicken. This was truly disappointing. The outside texture of the chicken wasn't golden brown as I am used to. It had an appearance that makes me feel that it was frozen and fried (looked like freezer burn) or it is batched cooked and kept warm. The outside had a "white like" freezer burn appearance. When you bite into it, the batter had separated from the chicken. It resembled crisy fried chicken versus and sweet and sour chicken. There was a gap between the batter and the chicken. So I would definitely not recommend it if this is the what it normally looks like. We did pay to upgrade the fried rice to the lo mein (it was $2.00, but that's pretty good). It tasted ok, but there was a smell when you opened up the box of burnt food. Overall, its not the worst, but I definitely have had in my opinion what I can call fresher and better prepared food.
Song Da
This seems to be a take out spot but they do have a couple of tables that allow dining in. I enjoyed their Happy Family but switched the sauce from a brown to white. The only reason I can't do five stars is the lack of space for dining in and limited drink selection. This probably won't be an issue if you're local and do take out. But, if you're from out of town be aware.
Best Chinese in the area. We’ve been coming here for years and will only come here. Our favorites are the chicken & broccoli, sweet and sour chicken and the vegetable egg rolls.
