Great Wall Chinese Restaurant
I want to support this place, but it's not great lately. Their version of chow mein is a goopy mess that leaked all over the bag. The gentleman there said not to look at their online menu, it's wrong. So why not take it down?
If you want fresh food, great tasting and expertly prepared, all for a an affordable price and fast service too, you must go to the Great Wall in Great Barrington. I drive from Connecticut at least once a week, for the best tasting food around. I've eaten there for years never had a bad meal. Mike is the owner and ensures my meal is always the best, as he does with every order. Great amount of food too, I've never left hungry ! Great Wall is #1 in my book !!
Panda Express
Extremely impressed with the portions. The last couple times I’ve had chipotle, they’ve skimped on even rice. So it’s great to see there are places that still give nice portions, along with quality tasting food. I went through the drive through and the food was out immediately. I did have to knock it a star because I found a hair in the rice. But overall impressed.
Chicken was raw. I got sick. I called the restaurant three days in a row, no answer. Called customer service. Was told I'd get a refund. 15 days later and still waiting. Never got a call back from the restaurant. Did get an email from a district manager, after I'd called the health department and an inspection was done. Update: today is January 9. I was promised a refund 37 days ago. Still nothing. Today I got an email offering me two $10 free entrees. NO. I paid over $30 for dinner- which again, MADE ME PHYSICALLY ILL. They offered this because "they tried and just cant credit the debit card I used." It is a business. If a business takes credit cards, they can credit a credit card. This has been the WORST experience! They absolutely refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes.
Tokyo Express
Looking at the other reviews, I was very hesitant to order from here but went through with it. The food has always been tasty and I haven’t had any issues with the women working at the front counter. I don’t think most people understand there’s a language barrier and mannerisms will differ from what the regular customer service they may be used to. Overall, I’ve ordered from here numerous times and never had issues with the food or service. Atmosphere? It’s an Asian takeout spot. You’re not there to sit down and eat lol. That said, it was clean and your basic run-of-the-mill setup you see at most Asian takeout spots.
The woman who works there is very rude and the food has declined greatly. The wins that I purchased were burned
The Super Wok
I ate here twice. After the first time the food was so awful I swore to never eat there again. However after 9pm there aren't many open restaurants nearby me so I went again out of desperation. I think it was worse the second time. I order tofu (bean curd) with szechuan sauce and chicken lo mein. The tofu was dry, hard and shriveled up like it was at least a day old and there were just like 4 tiny slivers of chicken in the lo mein and both were bland and tasteless. Do yourself a favor and go to dimsum mania or Tom's Dimsum in Downtown Media instead. And if it's after 9, I think you'll be better off starving or make yourself a peanut butter sandwich or something. I guess the staff is friendly enough but they seem to constantly be yelling at each other back there in the kitchen. Also it's your standard hole in the wall joint with a few chairs meant just for waiting not dining in (don't recommend it). Oh and it was rather expensive for a small lo mein and a vegetarian meal.
We tried Super Wok for the first time because the place we usually order delivery from was unexpectedly closed. The food was very good, and the delivery was fast and food arrived nice and Hot. They had really good egg rolls, and I liked that the Szechuan and General Tso chicken was actually spicy as it should be. This may be our new "go to" place for chinese delivery.
