Detroit Family Soul
Highly recommend! I’ve got to visit every time I’m in the city. Didn’t get a picture of the kool-aid drink but it too was superb!
My meatloaf looked weird and taste too thick with pieces of grissle in it or something. Cabbage had no taste or seasoning. Corn bread was a small muffin. And they didn't take card. Place looks nice. Maybe some of their other food is good but meatloaf was horrible.
Rice & Noodles Chinese Restaurant
This is more for carry out as it only has 4 tables and is located in a small strip mall, but ask them to make things Chinese spicy. Best Chinese in the area by far. Order their dumplings steamed and their Singapore noodles!
This was our first visit here. I would recommend getting a menu as others have. They do offer 2 sizes on some items that are not on the menu, so do not let that surprise you. It is a true "mom and pop" looking restaurant, small with just a few tables you can sit with your to-go plates and eat if you please. The "mom" was extremely friendly and was genuinely caring and took pride in customer service and the food. She was very friendly. Our food was delicious. I would recommend if you have never eaten here to take whatever your "go to" dish is you normally get from a Chinese restaurant and order that. Trying something different or new you have never eaten and not liking it and then posting a bad review because you do not like that dish in general in unfair. Compare apples to apples as they say. I will be going back, and I do recommend this restaurant as well.
Ten Yen Restaurant
The wait is longer than your typical Chinese restaurant and it’s not worth it!! I literally changed my review from 5 stars to 1 star because one of my shrimp egg foo young patties had hair cooked in it and I didn’t catch it till I was about to reheat the food the next day. On the day I got my food, I ate one of the patties which is why some of the pattie is gone in the picture. I also left a 5 start rating that day. The NEXT day, I was in the process of about to warm up my food and I noticed hair on the other patty. I took a fork and plucked it out of the patty. It was cooked into the patty. It was multiple hairs in that one patty! Thankfully, I didn’t notice any of the hair in the patty I ate the day before. Also, thankfully, the gravy was on the side b/c I probably wouldn’t have caught that! I went back to the picture and circled the hair that I didn’t notice when I originally took the picture smh.
It is take out only. It used to be in dining before the pandemic, but dining room never reopened. Ten Ten has the BEST Chinese in the area!! The gal at the cash register is OUTSTANDING!! REALLY like her!!! You get a HUGE AMOUNT OF FOOD!!! I usually can get THREE meals out of it for just me!!! Leftovers are GREAT!!!
The Crossroads
Gem of a place. An older place, but those are the best. The pictures online do it no justice. A lot bigger of a place that I thought. The wings were awesome. Tried 3 different flavors just to check a few of them... They were all fantastic. I will post pictures next visit.
Excellent wings some of the best around soups are also amazing and very affordable
China House Inn
Food was hot, fresh and good. They FILL the crab ragoon, it's a savory flavor and not overly sweet; I recommend trying them. The wonton soup had very large dumplings, which is awesome. The dishes have large portion sizes, we both had leftovers. The waitress was friendly and attentive, we will return! We had honey garlic chicken and sweet and sour chicken as our main dishes and both were great!
Our first time here. The food was made fresh and the hot and sour soup was good. The prices are very reasonable. Sue was our waitress and she knew her menu well. My husband works directly across the street at the music store, so I know he can get some good food while at working.
Neuse River Chinese Restaurant
Egg Roll was excellent, the House lo mein was dry and tasted like salty chicken broth. I ordered a quart but received a lunch tray. I called and was told “Chinese food has to be eaten immediately, and because it was two hours later is why it was dry” (There was no sauce in the container bottom, and the noodles were Aldente). I had the same from the place by Food Lion last week, and it lasted 3 days and was great each day. This is apparently not traditional lo mein, or I had a bad experience?? A friend of mine had told me about this place.
The egg rolls were good. That's it. There was a horror movie on the TV in the dining area. The cashew chicken was tasteless, as was the lo mein and fried rice. The pork in the lo mein was okay though. We, literally, walked out after each taking 1 bite of each dish.
China House
DELICIOUS! Homemade! Tasty sauces! I had egg drop soup (with those delicious, crispy noodles), and orange chicken that was obviously fresh with real orange peel, extra crispy + spicy. My sweet wife had hot and sour soup and Cantonese chicken, which also tasted and was equally delicious and flavorful. Our hostess was very kind and took great care of us. This place had been open for over 30 years and the lady said it's because they don't skimp or go cheap on their food, because it's so good compared to a typical Chinese restaurant these days. The cost was only $9.98 each + drink. Look at the bill! You must make this place your go-to Chinese restaurant, with friendly service! BTW, the Mongolian beef and lemon chicken dishes are also superb...Give them a try and SEE!
This place has been here since I arrived at Seymour Johnson AFB January of 2001. The decor hasn’t been updated since well before I arrived and it shows. My wife and I ate here for lunch today and the food was okay, the staff uninspired and the atmosphere is dark, worn and bit depressing. The positives are that the prices are reasonable and I didn’t get sick. If I come back, it will be against my will, LOL!
Happy Garden Restaurant
I've been eating here for about 20 years, one of my favorite spots for Chinese. They have my absolute favorite almond chicken and the best egg rolls I've ever had. Gai Kow is also very good. Large portions reasonably priced I wish you could still dine in.
Horrible !!! Beware !!! Unprofessional!! This marks the 3rd time going to this location each time I gave them time btw to get it Right and they FAILED miserably. The lady is very RUDE and ultimately NASTY. I ordered shrimp egg foo young in which I’ve ate this since I’ve been a child . As soon as I go to take the patty out of its container, it instantly broke in pieces ( Maybe they used the bad eggs in the current recall) !! I called to the restaurant and tried to explained, the lady started screaming and talking over me saying that “U EAT IT BROKEN RIGHT, YOU DON’T eat PATTY WHOLE “ REPEATEDLY!!! I said it doesn’t matter it should’ve never broken up into pieces ! She then rushed me off phone and hangs up . I called back she blocks me with some phone tool they use . I would advise you either not to patronize this unappreciative restaurant or check your food before leaving!!! Just beware if anything is wrong, they will not be likely to make it right . Not to add it’s Dark dingy and not inviting on the inside and the back door is kept opened letting flies and rats in . I’ve also witnessed customers bringing food that was messed up for whatever reason and they just took it to the back kitchen probably giving it to the next person who orders !!! Do yourself a FAVOR and go somewhere else !! Thank me later ……….🫣
China Taste
Great food! Very hot! The service was more than expected. Extremely polite staff. I will definitely eat here again. Thank you for your kindness.
They give really big tasty portions and they’re super quick!!
Szechuan Empire
Ordered the Orange Chicken and General Tso. There was no heat (ordered medium) no flavor (except a strange almost fishy after taste which was probably burnt oil) and was way over cooked (chewy and so bad). Waste of $30. Terrible terrible quality, and we were the only ones there!! How could they mess it up that badly with literally nothing else to do???
Made the mistake of getting this new year's eve. The food was dry and overcooked , prob leftovers from earlier in the day. I got the almond chicken and it was mostly batter. Worse, it made everyone in the house sick. Now I remember why I stopped coming here.
China One
The food is really good, I had chicken egg foo young! I always go there, The portions are nice also also
The first time i ordered the quick service led to my food being ready faster. The food I ordered was fresh and tasted better than expected. There's nowhere to dine-in but you can sit and wait for food.
Panda Chinese Restaurant
Im a lifetime Rosedale Parker of 34 years this place has always served great food in a timely fashion and since the new ownership about a year ago that has changed. I waited 30 mins for food that normally takes 10-15 tops... its ridiculous. The ppl that owned this place since the 90's have moved to another location on 7 mile and Schaefer and they are staying true to how they've always made this food I advise everyone thats used to the service and taste that the Rosedale park location was known for to go over there.
I didn’t get what I paid for. I ordered Kung Pao chicken. When I asked for no peanuts I and she said there are no peanuts, I knew something was wrong. I got cheap over fried breaded chicken pieces, almost no sauce (dry as the desert), and it isn’t spicy in the least. It is flavorless and not appealing to look at either. I would give no stars, but that isn’t an option. Maybe I should have asked, but every other Chinese restaurant I’ve been to cooks it the same way, pan fried without breading, plenty of sauce and extremely spicy. Absolutely horrendous. 👎👎👎👎
