JiangNan Philadelphia
Had the most amazing experience here! Was hosted for an event, and the food was top tier. This is the best elevated Chinese food I’ve ever had. They have unique dishes such as blueberry general tso’s! You can tell they use top quality ingredients as well. Service was fantastic, and the decor and ambiance is elevated and beautiful. Highly recommend- I think this is the best Chinese cuisine in Chinatown/philly! They serve alcohol as well!
The food is delicious and portions are big. Please note that their dishes are generously portioned. We recommend inquiring about serving sizes before placing your order, unless you are dining with a large group.
Opera House
Modern take on Chinese food. This place has only been open for a couple of months. Stopped for a lunch on a weekday. We arrived at 1:30, a little later than the lunch rush. But we were still surprised to see the place was completely empty. It's cute and nice. Seems clean. Food is a tick pricey for Philly at lunch time, especially for Chinatown. Discounts for cash here, so hit the ATM on the way. Food is good 👍🏽
You can enjoy the best food here and receive cheerful service from the waiters. No matter how busy they are, they will come over as long as you call. There is also a KTV for party, and drinks are also provided. As long as the needs that can be met can be met, I can only Say you have to try it once to understand.
Seafood Hotpot
I came to eat alone: so I can only do the $26.99 all you can eat option (the one that exclude Cajun seafood thing). The $26.99/person All you can eat (included non-alcohol drinks) with tax $29.15 I love that there are so many drink choices that included in the buffet (see attached picture) because not many hot pot restaurants do this. Tom Yum soup is delicious! The owners are friendly and patient with me too! Will definitely come back whenever I visit Philly!!!
Great selection of veggies and protein! The cajun food is a nice touch and the family that runs the place definitely care about this business. Come check it out! Feels better paying $40 a person on a Saturday night when you know it’s going to this family business. The unlimited drinks in the fridge is a nice touch, too. I recommend the green grape drink!
Yummy Yummy
If you're in the Chinatown area and need a quick, affordable bite, this place is a must visit! The food is not only delicious but also incredibly budget-friendly. For just $25, I was able to get enough food to feed three people. A few things to note: it’s cash only, so make sure to bring cash, and the seating is limited to just three people, so you may want to consider taking your meal to go. Huge thanks to the friendly host for the amazing hospitality. The hospitality definitely made the experience even better. Highly recommend!
Excellent take out leaning spot with a menu of prepared to order dishes plus grab and go plates. There’s some small seating up front but seems like you normally take the food out with you. I especially loved the chive wrap!
Feng Hotpot 冯校长老火锅
Some of the best hot pot we’ve had in the US. The spicy was pleasantly spicy which is rare when I order places here. The meat was super fresh and high quality. It’s definitely much more expensive than your average AYCE place but well worth the price in my opinion. The bucket fruit tea was great to sip on as a palette cleanser.
I had the pleasure of dining at Feng Hot Pot recently, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The moment we entered, we were greeted with a warm smile and a vibrant atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The menu offered an extensive selection of fresh ingredients, from succulent meats to an array of colorful vegetables. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the seafood—everything tasted incredibly fresh! The broth options were fantastic; we tried both the herbal and the spicy broth, and they were bursting with flavor. One of the highlights of our meal was the interactive experience of cooking at the table. It was a fun way to bond with friends as we experimented with different combinations of ingredients and dipping sauces. Speaking of dipping sauces, the variety available was amazing, and each one added a unique twist to our dishes. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who were more than happy to offer recommendations and ensure we had everything we needed. Overall, Feng Hot Pot is a must-visit for hot pot lovers! I can’t wait to come back and explore more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommend!
B & J Chinese Restaurant & Cold Beer
Food is delicious and the service is great. Treat her customers with respect and when i came in there i overheard them saying long time no see to a customer and i was instantly at awed. It’s rare other establishments like this treat people kind and show gratitude.
Her food is good and they are really fast. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 cause they gotta do better with the frying oil (change the oil when they supposed to) cause sometimes when I get chicken wings I can taste the dirty oil and that's not very pleasant. Prices are average and service is good.
Jade Palace
This is most musty food I’ve ever came across this woman is sick! I went back telling her it was this black hard thing in my food an she’s saying I put it there , I went back to the store after coming all the way home . A she told me I put that there & not remaking my food . I went back being polite she’s screaming at me telling me I’m a confused person and making me seem like I’m crazy . I spent 30$ in food a this lady said she’ll give me a small rice but she’s not making it over food is unseasoned and musty all her kids in the kitchen & her hair not even put up . Rude & nasty ! I’m not a disrespectful person but she had me messed up when she started saying I placed that there & a customer was there I asked her if I’m tripping an she said yea that’s something in my food . Jade is rude she even admitted that was something in my food but she said I put it there like I’m crazy or something like I would drive all the way back up south Philly to act like a Karen girl don’t play with me or nobody’s food moral of the story . Don’t eat here cause any mess ups ? She ain’t giving you back your money nor is she giving you a fresh meal .
Ordered the cheese fries and also sometimes french fries with ketchup, salt and pepper Very nice people. The lady even takes my orders 15 minutes before the shop closes at 10:45 PM. Enjoyed very much much better than paying the pizza of steak and cheese steak places I go to for small amount of fries when I can get a large amount for five or six dollars prices went up due to cost of living probably
Shing Kee
First time dining at Shing Kee, and it didn’t disappoint! Despite being packed, the service was prompt and the atmosphere lively. The Cantonese cuisine served here is simply delicious and authentically prepared. I’m already planning my next visit to try more of their mouthwatering dishes. A definite must-visit for anyone craving authentic Cantonese flavors!
Hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in Philly. I am a regular there and the core staff members have been there since the open. They deliver consistent delicious food every time. Vietnam style beef light sauce is a unique dish. Highly recommended
Spring Garden Chinese Restaurant
The food is good, but it's extremely high now A platter could be $14 a large chicken gizzards went up to $10 eggrolls went up to $1.75 and 10 chickenwings for $15
got general tso chicken combo with chicken fried rice, some of the best chinese in the city. very affordable and soooo delicious! so much chicken in the fried rice
Peking Inn
Ordered food from here twice now. The first time was better then the last. I'm not sure what happened. But the food was just ok on the second trip. My lady wasn't really happy with her food. Her rice was a little on the hard side. My curry shrimp an broccoli lacked the flavor it had the first time I ordered. The place itself looks a little sketchy from the outside and looks even more sketchy on the inside. It's dark and gloomy in there. You can't even see or hear anyone cooking the food in the back. No one was at the counter when I walked in. Then this lady just comes from out of the back somewhere. It was weird. I was the only one there at first then all of the sudden it was like 6 people standing in the lobby waiting for food. It felt like I was in a Escape Room movie and the stage was set and the survival games were about to begin. I'm not sure I will be back. It was just really convenient at the time because I was making deliveries to Mariposa across the street at night. And they were one of the few options that stayed open pretty late in the area.
Consistently good food. Keep it simple and you’ll have the best carry out Chinese in Philly
Ken's
Great little spot! I’ve only been for late night eats. It’s small but the food is good and plenty. I love that they are open late until 2am i believe. It’s not many places you can get full on authentic Chinese entrees that late at night. The portions are great size.
I got invited here so not sure on price. However I will say the food was great but when I went to use the bathroom I seen some things that make me not wanna come back here 😫 They had Karaoke which was fun. I think this place for sure needs some updating & a lil gem for what it is.
Xun Yu Si Kao 寻鱼私烤
This place is amazing! The fish hotpot is packed with flavor—rich, spicy, and super satisfying. The fish is so tender, and the broth is just incredible. And that eggplant dish? Wow! The sauce is so good, and the eggplant is cooked perfectly—soft and so tasty. Even the green beans were spot on! I’m obsessed with both dishes and can’t wait to come back for more. If you’re into bold, delicious Chinese food, you’ve gotta try this place!
So many amazing items on their menu, we've had such a fun time eating multiple items on their menu with our group visits. Everyone gets their hot pots, but we also really enjoyed their eggplant, tofu, and noodle dishes. Definitely coming back for more!
