Spice Route Indian Cuisine
Came here while visiting a local friend. I was amazed with the ambiance of the place. I asked to be seated near the newer renovated area and was kindly given permission to. My attendance as during a weekday around 12/1pm and the workers present were limited. Regardless, we were served promptly and were provided clarification when we asked questions. The food options were limited for the lunch special however the main entrees were all available. When the food arrived at the table we were shocked at the portion size. Having been to many Indian restaurants, this restaurant offers smaller portion sizes. In addition to smaller portion sizes some the meat dishes were not as tender as other restaurants I’ve been to. Spice route Indian Cuisine offers customers a nice ambiance and clean environment go enjoy Indian food, but should consider larger portion sizes and more tenderization of the meat ( particularly the lamb ).
Some of the dishes are excellent and exceptionally good. For e.g. Panner Achari was just amazing. Manchow soup and sweetcorn soup were just awesome! Malai kofta was comparable to taste but not the best. Breads were alright. Daal tadla was average, but Makhani was better. Deserts were good. Service is excellent. Prices are definitely on the higher side. We were 8 of us, and Bill ran up to about $30+ average per person.
Lucky 8 Noodle + Sushi Bar
OK, this place is progressively getting worse and worse as far as food quality I’ve been eating in this place for many years I want to chicken and broccoli tonight taste like chicken broth taste like something. I would make at home and screw up.lol that’s my honest opinion case like something that should’ve been that couldn’t have been lol Did they change the sauce? It’s weird I feel funny telling them, but their prices are expensive and i should tell them so the food only can get beter The managers just came up to me and she’s gonna give me Steam chicken She was very polite. We both agreed there was a new chef on. The waiters and waitresses are very very polite and they deserve a compliment for shure The food is no reflection on them But if it doesn’t taste right, make sure you tell these people so they fix it because it progressively getting worse as I said at the past five months
The service we received was good. We were greeted with a smile by the host and she was very helpful and patient when we asked questions. The food however was nasty. My boyfriend’s rice tasted like it was a month old rice instead of a day old rice. My shrimp lo mein didn’t have an ounce of seasoning. I had to use some of the soy sauce from my dumplings to bring it to life a little. The chicken was dry. My dumplings however were amazing. Overall I would go back for the dumplings and that’s about it.
China III
I really wanted to give 5 stars because the food was actually really good. It was our first time trying this spot, we have a family tradition of Chinese food on Christmas Eve. Anyway I was so annoyed that they put my husband's messy, super saucy beef and broccoli in a paper container and not the plastic one with a lid like my sesame chicken was in. All our food was sitting in a puddle of sauce. Not realizing it right away I ruined the tablecloth I just washed! Again......Christmas Eve. What an inconvenience, and that was pretty unprofessional of them. Would I go back? Yes even though some of these other reviews are a turn off. Hopefully we didn't just catch them on a good night where they recently changed the oil
Update: I decided to give it a try again because it's the closest one and it was rush hour. Today we found a screw in our chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce. Picture attached. I won't be going back. I've been going to this place for years and I gotta say their food has gone to crap. Today was the last straw. I bought wings ( they say 4 but it's really 3.5 ) also got an egg roll and dried out old fries. They were all cooked in VERY OLD oil. The fries were so old and had been fried several times. They were dried out on the inside. I thought maybe they were just a bit overdone... But nope they were just hard shells that resembled fries. My 2 yo almost choked on one. See pictures. The egg roll was also hard and dried out. I don't get it. They charge more then they have in the past but the fried foods are not worth it. Disgusted and a waste of money.
China Wok
Ordered a small fried rice and a small vegetable lo Mien. With two egg rolls. The prices were above average and the quality was very bad. The rice has nothing in it. No flavor and tasted stale. Very disappointing. Won't be visiting this place again.
This was my first time eating here. The black peppered chicken was really good. I can understand using plasticware for carryout, but should not be used when dining inside.
Paradise Hibachi Steakhouse
Ambience: 3/5 Presentation: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Hygiene: 3/5 Average Hibachi Experience – A One-Time Visit We decided to give the hibachi a try, but it turned out to be just okay. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable either – very average across the board. The flavors didn’t stand out, and the portions were standard, nothing that left us wanting more. The experience itself was fun, as hibachi tends to be with all the show and interaction, but unfortunately, the quality of the meal didn’t quite match the entertainment. It felt like more of a novelty than a truly great dining experience. Overall, it’s worth a one-time go if you’re into the hibachi atmosphere, but we probably won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
Fresh sushi, and the establishment is beautiful and clean. I love the separate room for those who are not eating at the hibachi tables. The service was fast and attentive. I have zero complaints and I am super ecstatic to have this spot nearby to order sushi from. Keep up the great work :)
The Sarah Street Grill
Nice restaurant Great food Wait was an hour to get food almost but very delicious. My friend had pasta and I had the blackened salmon. It was very flavorful moist well cooked and not fishy tasting at all. It was a melt in your mouth kind of delicious savory of Salmon and I havent had that in a while with a kick of spice and perfect texture. The vegetable medley was seasoned and flavored really well. I was so excited they had organic coffee to drink because all the coffee shops were closed on Sunday evening. A wonderful delight and great food. Service seemed slower here as far as time for food to come out but nice and good area upstairs away from the bar to eat.
4 of us were able to sit at bar without reservations at a busy time (Saturday evening). Food was excellent and didn't take long. Bar service was attentive even though they had a lot going on at once between tables and the bar. Food was delicious and burgers cooked to order. Loved the pickles and peppers. Only improvement would be not as dark (as all bars seem to be but hard to see at times) and soy sauce available for sushi at the bar.
NYC Street Grill Halal
Stopped by here for lunch on the way east. We were expecting Mediterranean food. Ordered two rice platters and two wraps. The good: 1. Quantity: a good amount of food. 2. Service: the person there was very nice and helpful. 3. Clean bathroom. 4. Wide selection of desserts. The not so good: 1. Table we sat at could use some cleaning. Leftover rice and sauce stains. 2. For me, there was WAY too much white sauce all over my rice dish - all over the meat, salad, vegetables, bread. Nothing escaped it. I was not used to this And have never experienced it in any Mediterranean restaurants I’ve eaten. I don’t know whether this is the norm but I basically couldn’t eat my food. The wraps were also drowning in the sauce. The falafel were dense, a bit hard on the outside and shaped like pucks - not round with thin crust.
Trade out the spot this evening with my family absolutely loved it fantastic service from a young gentleman. It was very polite and very helpful and kind. The food came out very quickly hot and absolutely delicious. The sweet treats are fresh and absolutely delicious had a hard time choosing which ones we wanted will come back again and again!
kitch-en
Freshly prepared and the most delicious breakfast in the area. This quaint little breakfast restaurant is a real gem in the Poconos. The owner and staff are always so friendly, and this is a safe place for the LGBT community too!
Kitch-en is one very special little spot. Holly, the chef, works masterfully with simple fresh ingredients to bring out their magic. She has a sense of nuance, balance and acidity in the way that Michelin chefs do. She also knows her way around a pancake and a quiche. Front of house Dean, June, Sunny and Sophia radiate kindness and warmth and are quick to meet every need or whim within their capabilities. Locals are greeted as friends and made to feel like they’re in an extension of Holly and Dean’s home. The spot is small and cozy so they can’t seat parties more than 5, but if you’re looking for a good meal with a small group of friends or a breakfast or lunch date with your boo you absolutely need to try. I also want to add how inclusive and lovely these folks are, they have regulars of every gender, race and sexuality. As a queer nonbinary community organizer I wouldn’t go there 2x a week if they alienated or ostracized any marginalized community.
Trackside Grill & Bar
I cannot say enough good things about this place! This is my go to spot for both a drink or a bite to eat. Our server Kaitlyn was such an inviting and bright personality. Her service was unmatched as she was attentive, kind, and gave great suggestions. If you’re looking for a nice place to try, give this place a try!
All food except the onion rings was amazing, they burnt the rings. Another server cleared our table and I again expressed the rings were burnt and he took it upon himself to have them make more for me to take home ♥️ Had to wait a few minutes before someone actually spoke to us & seated us. Several servers seen us but just kept walking by. The hostess apologized and said they were busy…maybe 7 tables had people at them…
Sycamore Grille
Great place in Del Water Gap. We were driving from Chicago to NY and stopped here randomly for dinner, to allow time for NY traffic to die down before we crossed into NYC area. This restaurant is a gem. It was very comfortable and quaint. Old style charm and friendly. The server was a middle age to older woman, and was great ! Food was fabulous. Prices were very reasonable. We would definitely go back !
We came for restaurant week. They were definitely short staffed and a bit slow but the wait was worth it. Everything was delicious. The beet and burrata was incredible. The mussels with peppers were amazing. The butter tasted like pumpkin. I could eat it plain. And the pumpkin cheesecake tasted like it's right from your kitchen. Didn't care for the squash gnocchi. Very gummy. Otherwise, great atmosphere. It was kind of chilly inside. Ample parking lot or street parking. We really enjoyed the experience
Fu Lay Chinese Restaurant
Best on Main!! If you’re close in town looking for good food definitely consider them before the rest!! Lo mein, Orange and General Szo chicken are our go to!!
My wife and I are VERY PICKY when it comes to Chinese food. We’ve been spoiled with our NJ roots and all the wonderful food that we enjoy. However, this place is the best in NEPA.
Happy Garden
First time ordering here and it wasn’t what I expected after reading the other reviews. I ordered the walnut chicken. First it’s cash only or they do take cashapp and Zelle. When I opened the food I was hesitant because I didn’t realize the chicken has a different batter than most places. However as I started eating the chicken i realized that i literally had maybe a solid 3 or 4 spoonfuls of rice. On top of that there’s large chunks of onions taking up the bottom half of the rice. Chicken overall was good but a lot of the chicken was really chewy or tough. Disappointed in barely having any rice. A ton of sauce that would’ve gone great with the rice. The sauce was actually the best part.
Yeah got general tos chicken combination platter which was okay but not too much pork in the fried rice. and then the beef sticks I ordered they were all burned.has u can see.💯😡
