China Wok
I been craving Chinese food for a while but kept putting off because I’m trying to maintain my summer body. However, today I fell into temptation and got the Chinese food😅 I went to the closest Chinese restaurant to my home in grantville which was this one I ordered a combination platter with chicken lomein and pork fried rice, crab Rangoon and fried chicken wings. The crab Rangoon were savory and salt. Usually crab Rangoon is mildly sweet and comes with the red sauce. These were not sweet and there was no red sauce. The lo mein was tangy. There was nothing terribly wrong with the people or service it was just that the food tasted terrible but the chicken wings were good. I will admit I continued to try and finish the food because I was not about to waste $23.16.
The food here is rancid. Ordered beef and broccoli combination platter, the beef was spoiled, the rice wash mushy, the egg roll was leaking black oil & the inside was a complete mush. I also ordered boneless spare ribs and idk what that was but it wasn’t pork. The only thing in the restaurant probably worth buying are the little plants they have for sell in the front. To top it all off, I had to drive over 40 min back and forth, in order to get my money refunded in FULL. Im mad we actually tasted the food before realizing it was potentially spoiled. Better not get sick.
Dragon Chinese Restaurant
I specifically said not to burn my shrimp egg young.patties. They were burn the shrimp was overcooked. It was like Patty's have been cooked and waiting for someone else, and they reheated them. That's terrible. No more money, whatever you do. Don't order
I love this place. The food is always fresh and so good and reasonable price. I really love it. I order from here all the time
Golden Chopsticks
Ordered delivery over the phone — could barely understand the woman. When she arrived, she called me screaming that she couldn’t get into the building (Red Roof Inn — the door is always open). I hung up. A few minutes later, she came to my room, started banging on the door, and tried to open it even though I told her several times to just leave the food outside. I was honestly super weirded out. The food itself was okay — about a 5/10 (I got the General Tso’s and Egg Drop Soup) — but after that experience, I won’t be ordering from here again. I don’t need my dinner coming with a side of verbal abuse and someone trying to force their way into my room.
I ordered Spicy Chicken and YUM! Perfect level of spicy, comes with white rice, and veggies. These meals always hit the spot when I’m in need of comfort food.
China Express
Traveling for 5 hours and need to feed an 11 people while on the road. This was a great place to stop! They were patient with the teens, service was friendly, and food was AMAZING!!! Would highly recommend and will stop bye again!!
If getting general tso’s give them your spice level. Shrimp is also hella good.
Chef Chen's Inc.
The lady running the place was nice. However, the food was meh. The fried rice was hot, but the seasame chicken was lukewarm. Also the amount of food I was given was a small amount which is disappointing since other places give a huge amount of food.
Shrimp egg foo young was well made. A friendly family as well.
New 2nd Wok
Got food delivered. Ordered the General Tso's Chicken. When opened container it looked like it was someone's leftovers. Had 1 big chicken chunk, with rice all over it, like the dish was stirred/gone though, and barely any rice. The chicken and rice soup, was just chicken and rice no broth at all. Never received the vegetable spring rolls. Overall bad experience. Their cheese fries were pretty good, though.
Although there are certainly better options out there, the food at this establishment wasn't terrible. The lo mein was somewhat dry and lacking in flavor, while the egg roll was disappointingly stale. The General Tso chicken, though spicy, was unfortunately mushy. Overall, the experience was MID.
Chong Chin Chinese Restaurant
Tried this restaurant this evening. It's in a shopping center off of Highway 49 in Harrisburg, NC. I asked several people that I saw going in and out of here what they thought of the food and got all good comments. So I went in and ordered two dishes with a size of egg rolls. Shrimp with mixed vegetables and my favorite, sweet, and sour chicken. The dishes were served with fried rice, which was very yellow with a sprinkling of peas and carrots. My hubby enjoyed his shrimp dish and said it was tasty. He will order it again. I enjoyed my sweet and sour chicken dish as well. A little different on the fried rice but the portion side was plentiful. They are pretty quick with the service. You cannot sit down here dur to not enough employees per a sign, but the take out is quick and convenient. They do door dash and have an extensive menu. All in all we will come here again since close to us.
I recently ordered takeout from Chong Chin, and I have to say, the food was absolutely amazing! I got the Triple Crown and the Crispy Double Delight, and both dishes were packed with bold flavors and the perfect level of spice. The Triple Crown was a fantastic combination of shrimp, chicken, and beef, cooked to perfection with fresh veggies and a rich, flavorful sauce. Every bite was balanced and satisfying. The Crispy Double Delight was equally impressive—crispy, crunchy, and full of heat! The texture was spot on, and the spices added just the right amount of kick without overpowering the dish. Even as takeout, the food was hot, fresh, and well-packaged. If you’re a fan of spicy, high-quality Chinese food, Chong Chin is a must-try! I’ll definitely be ordering again soon.
China Max
They hardly prepare fresh food and when they do, its very little and they just blend it in with the old food that has been sitting out for hours. The noodles become hard and dry and so does the exterior of the orange chicken. Sometimes they will pour it in top of the old food in hopes of keeping it warm. Furthermore, when you ask for the fresh food that's above the old food, (ex: bourbon chicken or lo mien) they are VERY stingy with it. They give you more old food than fresh. This has happened to me 3x. You're better off going to the Hibachi that's right across from the Harrisburg Mall. It's very disappointing...
Just bought the chicken. It was undercooked. Took it back and they processed to argue with me. They would not refund our money and gave us a dish or rice instead. I paid $11 for subpar fried rice. Pick another place.
Golden Wok
It's unfortunate to see a number of bad reviews here. This is my husband and I's favorite take out Chinese in the immediate area (general Colonial Park area)...and we have tried many. We have never had a bad experience here once. Not only do we prefer their food over others, but the prices are much more reasonable as well (and in this economy!)... Perhaps our experience is different because we don't order delivery. We live within a 3 mile radius, and so it has always made more sense for us to just go grab the food ourselves (for us it just makes more sense: the delivery times are always longer than if you just get it yourself, and I have a vehicle and it's not a big inconvenience to me to just go grab takeout, so why pay someone to do something I can easily do myself?). So, I can't speak for the delivery service in my evaluation. As far as the language barrier goes, I guess it's simply what I've come to expect when ordering from a Chinese (or Italian, or Indian, or whatever...) restaurant. I don't expect an exchange of communication on the same level of an American restaurant...and I don't need that. They're short and to the point, and for me, that's all I really need (I prefer to avoid all "obligatory" small talk, if I can help it, haha). Until something gives us a reason, this will remain our "go-to" Chinese take out. As of now, I have no complaints and only positive experiences (and we've ordered here many times). So, I guess, you'll have to decide for yourself, but I'd say it's at least worth giving this place a shot!
These guys make amazing food and have great portion sizes for the money. Been getting food from them for over 8 years. These guys are busy most of the time so it's best not to ask for the delivery as it may take longer when they are slammed with customers but don't let delivery stop you from enjoying their food. Just pick up the order and you'll be good.
