Panda Express
Went to drive thru shortly after 10 this morning, nobody answered the drive thru menu or window, so I left. Definitely not coming back. The online app said they open at 10, dead wrong.
Some folks want just plain unsweet tea- without mango or passion fruit. That’s me- I am some people. This place does not have plain unsweet tea. The food was cold and workers didn’t care. In short- it was food for an empty stomach and nothing more. Not worth the $$ I paid but it served a purpose. A basic purpose. Same as White Castle, Taco Bell etc. super disappointed
Wah Mei Chinese Restaurant
It’s the second time in this eeek that I ordered the same. Shrimps with cashew nuts, it’s delicious and good portion and presentation. It’s a comfort food for me that I Chinese
Customer service was great. I got shrimp and chicken fried rice and sweet and sour chicken, both rices could have been cooked longer but the chicken one was gross no flavor at all. Sweet and sour chicken was good and crunchy. Most likely wouldn’t come back though. Spent $32 not worth it.
New Shanghai Bistro Tates Creek Center
New Shanghai Bistro Tates Creek Centre is a hidden gem. It's located right next door to Kroger and several other businesses in that Strip Mall. It has a very quaint look and feel to it. It's my go-to whenever we are shopping or visiting friends/family, in the area. The lady who takes your order is really friendly. She wants to know everything about how you want your food(i.e. spice tolerance, dislikes etc). So, if you're a picky eater, this is a spot for you. What surprised us was the fact that there are pictures of, I'm Assuming, every single dish they serve, on their wall. I have never seen that before. That was pretty cool to see and look at. At least you knew what that dish looks like or supposed to look like. Now, on to the food. Y'all it's HOT, so make sure to blow on it. DO NOT do what I did and just popped it into my mouth, immediately. For the record, I was HUNGRY! Everything we ordered was good, fresh and the stuffed to the rim. Some people reviewing this place, complaining about the prices; but you're getting double the portion..duh. Each plate can easily feed 2 people. You'll have leftovers for sure. There was a review from Ty-Ah May claiming the lady was racist against People of Color, claiming she wrote the 'N-word' on their receipt. Well, she is NOT! Heck, I'm a Person of Color; as well as, the rest of my family and she was nice to us. So please, disregard ALL of those negative reviews and try this place for yourself. They are open every day except on Monday. So plan accordingly. So, if you're in the Tates Creek area and have a hunger for Chinese food, head over to New Shanghai Bistro in Tates Creek Centre.
Not the best presentation inside, but I'm not eating the pictures. Don't let it distract you. The food is amazing. Best Chinese food I've had in Lexington. I had the Ma La Chicken Spicy.
Royal Chef Chinese restaurant
This place was great …as soon as I walk in it smelled delicious.the service was great and the food was amazing.would definitely recommend it and I would make this the best Chinese food restaurant
I'm usually super picky when it comes to Chinese, but I really enjoyed the food here. It wasn't greasy, and the seasoning was balanced. If one item was bland, the sauce it was paired with had all the flavor which balanced out the food! I ordered chicken egg foo young, steamed dumplings, sesame chicken, and triple delight with fried rice. I found the steamed dumplings bland, but when I heated them up in the oven and then ate them with the sauce, they were good. The chicken egg foo young wasn't greasy, but it had minimal seasoning. The sauce it comes with was on point, so when mixed together, it made for the perfect bite! I just wish they gave me a bigger container with the sauce! The prices aren't bad for the amount of food you receive, so for what you're spending, it is definitely worth it. I will definitely be coming here again!
Shanghai Bistro
This is 20 dollars. Very small amount of food for price. Person at the counter was rude. Asked about the portion and was yelled at by the worker. From looking at other reviews, I can see why now because it seems like she might have anger issues. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for decades so it takes A LOT for me to complain. Will never go here again 👎
I absolutely love this place. The quality of the food is one of the best in town. The Amazing Chicken and Cashew Chicken are my two favorites. And $17 for food I can get two meals out of is just a bonus. The lady at the counter is always so friendly. I will be back many more times.
Happy China Restaurant
The meal was absolutely delicious! The portions were incredibly generous, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, with every ingredient cooked to perfection. A delightful surprise was the complimentary treat from the chef, which added a thoughtful and special touch. The service was impressively fast, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
The portions are huge, and the dishes are delicious. The prices are inexpensive. It’s really an excellent place to eat. In the photo, you can see half of my dish after I had already eaten. We finished the soups, but we couldn’t even finish the noodles and rice. And I love to eat! Still, there was too much food.
Shun Lee
Disappointed in the food taste, texture, and cost. Delivery was timely. Rice was prepared perfect. Used Door Dash. Too thick of dumpling wraps and suggest reducing size for even steaming and cooks do tasting of speciality dishes and sauces. Menu should note if seasonal or fresh seafood used.
It's really great Chinese food! Names you know, but way better than the others. And for our family of 4, it was cheaper than then buffet down the street. I'm spoiled now. Eric, our server, was great! Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. A+ in my book!
J2C Asian Bistro
We got fried dumplings, chicken lo mein, chicken in garlic sauce, dumpling soup, egg rolls and chongqing chicken. Both chicken dishes were ordered with fried rice. Portions were reasonable. Everything was fine, although nothing was exceptional. The Chongqing chicken boneless version was very different than the version pictured on the website, which was disappointing. We wouldn’t have even bothered ordering it if we knew it wasn’t prepared the same and wasn’t coated and crispy like the bone in version would be.
J2C has always been good; we go there regularly and I always have a good experience. Today, we went, dined in and they had a new menu, or else I just noticed it. It's lunch specials or their version of giving you a good deal for some regular dishes. Anyway, I'd tried their General Tso a while back, as we've been going there since they opened, and I didn't remember it as being my fave. But somehow it came up today and the server let me in on a secret - they've changed it, and it's very different - larger hunks of real chicken, less breading/flour - so I tried it. So glad I did, it was really delicious. It came with egg roll and fried rice, both were also good. My son got his go-to - beef fried rice - he loves it and it fills him up. Anyway, the lunch special is a great deal, very filling and just 10 bucks. Oh, and they don't have diet Coke on tap (fountain) ;). but, they do have it in cans and give you ice. So, even tho it's not a Coke place, they please the customer. Speaking of customer service; it is always superior. The place is a very modern vibe, yet still cozy somehow. And the staff makes you feel welcome. Great atmosphere all around. I will now be back even more frequently. Give their new lunch menu a try! I'm glad I did.
Panda Express
They wait until after you place an order and take your money to say they're out of the item. I said we'll wait for fresh made. My food was put in a container and sat to the side for 15 minutes instead of giving me fresh food once the other order was ready.
Gets worse every time I go. Portions are all over the place. One time it's plenty, another time it's very small portion for same dish. The tea is fantastic though. NO SALT??? Always makes me cringe when they scrape the clabbered stuff off the sides of the warming trays to give you the last bit of festered food instead of making some fresh. If you can catch them when all the dishes are fresh, it's great, but odds are you won't.
P.F. Chang's
We had the best dinner on Saturday Night. We were running late and arrived about an hour later than we hoped. Our server was impeccable! He was ending a 10 hour shift, you would never know it. His attention to us was 10 star!! We never felt rushed! Our food was fresh and hot! Downside is: their restrooms need to be updated, and it is a bit dark for my personal taste.
Had a great experience this evening mostly because of Jeremy, our server. Food was very good (tempura green beans were special), the music a little too loud, but the service was STELLAR. He kept a good eye on us, was easy to catch, kept our drinks coming, us and never disappeared on us. Service like this makes up for any other shortcomings.
Mango Thai
I tried their loi mein or noodle at my first time. It was really good. They mix it with some sauce. But second time, it was lack of that sauce which I really loved. Hope they do it again. Will be back again. Everything is good.
Saw a new restaurant in the Food Court, decided to try it, very pleased!! Tastes amazing
Wong Wong
I highly Recommend this place, the best crab Rangoon I’ve ever had in my life! Great kung pao chicken, Great general Sol‘s chicken, The service here is impeccable good people here! Angela is the sweetest person I’ve ever met!
The egg roll was so crispy that I gobbled it up before remembering to take a photo. I guess I'll have to come again to add a photo of the spring rolls lol. I tried their mango bubble tea and it's quite good. Service was fast, only waited 10 mins after ordering. General Tso's lunch special which includes the 1 egg roll only costs $7.75, very good price considering all the inflation going on right now.
