We chose Zen Chinese Bistro to celebrate our large Staff Christmas Dinner and we were so happy we did! The food was absolutely delicious and brought out in a timely manner all our guests loved the Huge variety of cuisine to enjoy as part of the family style dinner options! We had such a wonderful time on the second floor of the restaurant and had it all to ourselves. Our servers were Excellent and provided courteous and friendly service. Anything that was needed our guests were immediately tended to! We brought our own selection of holiday music. We truly enjoyed amazing food, cocktails and great company! Delicious flavors, excellent portions and wonderful customer service. Great selection of cocktails and beers. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant on the inside. We highly recommend and will be one of our go to Chinese restaurants in Portland! We highly recommend Zen Chinese Bistro for your next dinner party or holiday staff party!! All our guests loved the delicious food and festive location to commemorate a special occasion!!

I have lived in Portland my entire life and had never been here. We came in and decided to dine in. The resturant is so nice and well decorated. The bar area is beautiful. The service was fantastic, and the food was phenomenal. The portions are also very large, it was nice to have left overs for lunch the next day. Will definitely be back!

This was excellent. The staff were pleasant but also unobtrusive. We met with friends that hadn't seen in a while and needed to catch up. Didn't feel rushed. Food was excellent. Peking duck buns were delicious. I'd never had soup dumplings and was amazed by the perfect temperature and flavor. The green beans were so tasty! I only wish we had ordered the bacon fried rice ..next time!

A very hip spot for quite delicious Chinese fare. We tried a few dishes, all nicely executed with authentic flavor and flare while pleasing to the American palate. The plate arrangement suits solo or couples' portions, unlike old school setups, where food is meant to be shared by many off large oval plates. Empire serves up elevated home-style creations with matching technique and subtle spice blends that make them memorable and reminiscent of grandma's cooking. The food is truly delightful! Service is attentive, mindful and respectful. The space is well-appointed with personal touches everywhere that make you feel welcome and like you're dining in someone's home. Long live the Empire!

The people are nice but I don't know what happened to the food. It used to be good but I just got a couple of dinner combinations and the teriyaki is so dry it may as well be jerky and the portions are tiny for the price. I will never go there again and you shouldn't waste your money either. VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!

This place is really delicious, they always get my order correct, staff is very friendly, food is always warm, my order is always ready when they say it will be and their pricing is very reasonable. 10/10 recommend!

I never got the pizza here, but heard that's good. You can get really good pizza at big John's, so I went here for a Stromboli. It was the most expensive Stromboli I had ever had. We figured it would be awesome!!! It was not. We got it home, opened the big pizza box, and there was a little tiny Stromboli inside to split between 4. They said it serves 4, so we got that. Inside this cheese steak Stromboli was almost no meat and no cheese. I thought this has to be an accident. They forgot to put the meat and cheese inside. So I called and spoke to a lady that told me I should've ordered it with "extra meat if I wanted meat in the cheese streak Stromboli" I ordered. I said, what? So I asked how much is that, for adding meat that should already be in the cheese steak Stromboli. She said "about $9" about?!?!? I asked whats about. She replied it depends. I asked on what. Silence. I asked again, depends on what? She answered, "i don't know " So if I wanted meat in my cheese steak Stromboli that cost $22 and is 6 inches by 3 inches of dough, i have to pay an additional $9... about? So we wound up writing off the $22+ tax and going back out to get a great pizza from Big John's. It was delicious, but still steamed over getting ripped off at Joe's pizza scammers.

Update- Come on guys! What is this? There's barely any steak on the cheese steak pizza. We order all the time, this is not what we expect from Joe's. If we lived closer I would have returned it. Im not mad. I'm just disappointed. Best pizza around!

I love coming to this diner. It is really an upgrade compared to what it was ten years ago. The service is always great and friendly! The food here is affordable and really delicious. To be honest I really enjoy coming here for their specials both lunch and breakfast but I really enjoy their breakfast here the most. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

The service was absolutely friendly and great, and the prices were also great. The food came out pretty fast. The chicken that I got was very unseasoned, barely cooked to finish. I noticed that most of the food was not cooked with love barely finished no seasoning or any type of effort put into the food.

FOOD POISONING!!! WASTE OF MONEY! I recently went to this place to try out something different. I have ordered the cheesesteak/fries w a soda. after I have finished eating.my stomach started hurting. I thought mabey it was because I ate too fast? Or the cheese. NO! The next morning I had an urge to throw up feeling nauseous for hours! Threw up about 17 times now. Had some of its food in there as well… I’m thinking they do not have fresh food?!!! ALSO THE CHEESECAKE SITS THERE FOR HOURES/DAYS! You can tell the cheeses take starts to get a heavier yellow on the top and towards the edges… BAD FOOD! Eat at your own risk but this is to let you know to never come to this place again!

The lamb over rice is some of the best around. Chicken is good too.

This is the last time we will order from this place. We order the same thing, EVERY TIME! And there is ALWAYS something wrong! We always order the pecan chicken salad with mixed greens. This time there’s no pecans whatsoever on this salad and there’s enough walnut pieces that I can count them on two hands. This is not mixed greens. This is iceberg lettuce with a couple of pieces of other greens in it. As you can see, the tomatoes are rotten and even have mold on them. The bread tastes like it was made an hour ago and re-toasted. What kind of restaurant are you running over there? We live super close and the salad used to be on point and so good, seriously have been ordering them for the past year. It’s all we eat from this place. After numerous complaints to them where they give you a 10% discount off of a $15 bullshit salad. Today we paid over $30 for two salads and as you can see by the pictures, not worth it at all with moldy tomatoes, no pecans And no mixed green straight up iceberg. This place is a rip off and I don’t know who’s running it now but you need to go back to the old managers or whoever’s in charge of the kitchen because it absolutely sucks! Even the chicken is not the same, they’re putting 6 to 7 strips when they used to put 10 to 12 pretty large very well-made strips of chicken. For a place in Hopewell, this is Absolutely by far the worst place in our little Township , terrible! Do not eat here . If you can’t even make a salad right without putting fresh food in it and doing what the customer requests, Do not waste your time and money!

This is a beautiful restaurant with a large selection of good food. A friend and I went for dinner between 5-6pm during the week. We sat at a table by the bar. It seemed to have been shift change, or the restaurant was temporarily short staffed. The bartender had a dozen patrons at the bar and was working 4 tables when we sat down. She did well servicing the tables and bar at the same time. Additional help arrived about 20 minutes after we sat, which was halfway through the meal. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, a full meal with soup or salad, and rolls included. We also ordered the desert to go. Service flowed very well. Fast but not rushed. Food was hot and good with no errors on the order. We ate the desert at home later that evening. I believe the desert what caramel turtle cheesecake. It was divine.... Great job Green Olive!

My favorite Mexican restaurant! Their enchiladas and quesadilla platters are my favorite 😍 the enchiladas are super soft and have a lot of flavor. They aren’t dry like other places. 10/10 recommend. They are also a mini grocery store.

It would be a better without crackheads by the from door it makes a lot people uncomfortable. Not mention the other people drinking beers outback is horrible

Second time visiting. First time we had a large group (7) and did have to wait about an hour and a half. This time it was just two of us and we came early and were seated right away. Highly recommend the Duck Lo Mein, the bok choy, eggplant and bao buns. Everything we had both visits was fabulous. Great service. We will be back!

I'm picked up to go on the way to work for myself and my coworkers several times. Everything is just so yummy 😋 Not to mention that it's so big portions as well. Love it! Highly recommend 👌 👍 Update my review; Kinda a little disappointed when my last order of stir fry Lo Mein had very little vegetables than my previous order 😕 Did not see any mushrooms in it.

No frills, big value, fast, and tasty Americanized Chinese food that is everything you want and nothing more at 2019 prices. Do not let the drive through window scare you away. Best place in the area for a fast hot meal

The food here is incredible on the portions are great. The cost for the amount of food and quality of food you get is definitely worth it. Just a great place to go if you're looking for a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. Well the atmosphere may not be as nice, the service and food make it worth it if you're looking for agree American Chinese food experience. The only thing we didn't care for that much is there crab rangoons. We ordered their chow mein, chicken fingers, broccoli and beef, and there orange chicken.

It's a little rough around the edges, but wow the food is good. Extremely good service. Good prices with big portions. Generals Tsos beef was good but not what most would expect, just battered beef in sauce. It was quite good. Only thing I wasn't enjoying was the fried rice that came with my meal. Highly recommend.
