Hidden Gem with Amazing Food and Service I’ve always been curious about this place but hesitated to try it because of the exterior—it looks like a takeout spot from the outside. Last week, I finally decided to go in and was pleasantly surprised. Inside, it’s a clean and inviting dine-in restaurant. The restaurant was empty, which made me a little sad, especially after trying the food—it’s unbelievably good! I ordered the Chongqing spicy chicken, scallion pancake, liang pi, and hot and sour soup. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The scallion pancake had a uniquely crisp crust, and the hot and sour soup was packed with veggies, button mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, tofu, and eggs. It was comforting, delicious, and felt healthy—exactly what you need on a cold day. They even offer small and large pot options, which is great for any appetite. Service was phenomenal, and the food arrived quickly. The quality and quantity of food for the price were unbeatable. If you’re in the neighborhood, don’t overlook this spot. It’s a hidden gem that deserves more attention. I’ll definitely be back!

Got the Chinese pork hamburger and the liang pi for takeout late at night. It was tasty and felt a bit homemade. The flavor was good, but not particularly notable if you’ve tried other places. More of a soy sauce flavor. The “hamburger” bun was on the bready and soft side. The liang pi was a cold dish. It was on the firmer side and not as chewy. Friend got the pepper chicken which was good and within expectations of Chinese takeout.

I recently visited and tried a variety of dishes, and overall, it was a pretty good experience. The noodles were excellent—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The soup was a little milder than I had hoped for in terms of spice - I had to add some chili oil to give it the kick I was craving. The shrimp was delicious, although I found it a bit odd that it wasn’t peeled, especially since it was coated. Unfortunately, it affected my overall eating experience. As for the steamed pork dumplings, I wasn’t a fan of the filling—it just didn’t quite suit my taste. The sauce accompanying the dumplings was delicious though - ask for more! Service was excellent, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

quaint little spot with some of the best noodles in the city! Ive been coming here for yeeears and they're so consistent and delicious! they nail the Szechuan flavor. the hand pulled noodles are superior!

I wouldn’t say this was the best dim sum I’ve ever had but it was good. Pricing on everything was also reasonable. Every staff member we encountered were very nice and service was very quick. One thing I will note is that they have a decent amount of vegetarian options which can be hard to find at dim sum restaurants. Everything did have flavor (the noodles were a little bland but great quantity). If I had to choose my favorite, it probably would be the shrimp and chive dumpling. My least favorite was the fried shrimp ball. It had a spongy consistency that was strange to me but again, it still was flavorful. They have a really yummy dumpling sauce and the chili oil that sits on the table was delicious as well.

Food was very delicious and flavorful, my only thing is that salt and pepper shrimp should be peeled before battered/fried to get all the flavor from seasoning. I know some people like to eat the shell, but I think people should be given a choice between shell and shell-less. Everything was good and the servers were nice, although short in service.

Visited my cousin in downtown Philly and my bf was craving Chinese food so we ordered from here. Seamless was quick with the delivery, my cousin enjoyed his sesame tofu and my bf enjoyed his sushi. The shrimp fried rice that I ordered was NASTY, no egg or veggies in it at all. It was basically grease rice with some shrimp. Would not recommend it unless you’re starving.

Drunken noodles are in a basil tomato sauce, the dumplings are flavorless, it’s just not good. Super disappointing

We came here on a recommendation from social media. I really enjoyed the food. We had the duck for two, coconut shrimp with mango sauce, and a spicy beef dish. This was more than enough food for the three of us that went out, and there was enough for two lunches the follow day. My Chinese husband thought it was good, but did not taste as authentic as it could be. I did feel like it was similar to take out food rather than dine in Peking duck I’ve had before. I was not a fan of the thin pancakes that came with the duck as I felt like they tasted more like a wrap. I like more of a fluffy bun like pancakes. The duck was juicy and flavorful. Service was great, and we will overall be back!

Came for lunch and the wait was very short! We put our names on the Yelp waitlist w/ their iPad. We ordered: • Peking duck w/ buns (choice of pancake or buns) ($52) • beef chow fun ($16) • sautéed snow pea leaves ($16) The Peking duck was delicious, the skin was so crispy and everything about it was just perfect. I also really liked the beef chow fun. Their plates are perfect for sharing. The vegetables were quite good too, just a little too salty for my taste. I would absolutely come back if I were in the area again. Service was unremarkable. They gave us what we needed but it was nothing above and beyond, which is OK. They have call buttons on the tables and came almost instantly when they were alerted!

10,000 years to Dim Sum & Noodle! Most superlative service! Outstanding authentic cuisine! Modestly priced menu! Family friendly atmosphere! As an American who has lived in China extensively for many years, I am proud to endorse and recommend the amazing cuisine and even kinder staff here at Dim Sum & Noodle. I have been a regular at this fine establishment since they open doors back in 2016. What was simply a quick fix of authentic Chinese food has now become a weekly tradition for me and my family. This authentic eatery is most accommodating and patient to children guests which only makes this culinary experience all the sweeter. Top marks and continued success to Fairmount premier Chinese restaurant!

Great food and great service. The scallion pancakes are perfect and the grilled short rib lunch special is a steal. I got egg fried rice and wonton soup with mine. I will be back for dim sum next time.

Actually the best Chinese take out I’ve ever had. I ordered on uber eats and it came very fast. The food is so flavorful and not too greasy. I got the Sichuan tofu box that came with rice soup and an egg roll and the beef ho fun and fried veggie rolls. Everything is so delicious and the prices are amazing. Will definitely order again.

I hit up this Chinese spot for lunch pretty often, and it’s a solid choice, especially with their great lunch specials. Even when it gets busy, the service is fast and efficient, which is a big plus when you’re on a tight schedule. They also have a ton of options for tofu and vegetarian dishes, which I really appreciate. The food is always fresh and flavorful, making it a great spot for a quick, satisfying lunch. If you’re into tofu or looking for good vegetarian options, this place has you covered!

Many authentic dishes to try. I’ve had cumin style chicken, ma po tofu, and a few noodle dishes. Rice stand out too. Restaurant is smaller and service is geared towards take out. Menu is via QR code and webapp, will be back

Update 2025: We haven’t been in a while. Came today and every dish was cooked to perfection. I won’t make it a regular place for me because it’s a bit pricey overall, but I can’t ask for more from the dishes themselves. 10/10 quality food and service We spent about $100 without tip on 6 dishes (photos included). Oh and I love that the manager/owner has a good sense of humor in the reviews!! We’ll be back, but maybe one dish at a time to keep the spending down. 2022: Certain dishes are excellent. The last time I ordered (dumplings in chili oil and general tsos) I didn’t really like it much. Totally different flavor level from what I have come to expect from this place based on other dishes like the potatos and double—fried spicy chicken dish. Prices are much better direct than through online and delivery services.

Stopped by here at random within Philadelphia's China Town. Cantonese style Chinese food. Food is quick and hot. I enjoyed it and recommend it.

Great meals at great price points. The duck, roast pork, chicken, and bbq pork are all delicious here.

Probably the best Cantonese food you’ll find in the center city Philly area. The taste to price ratio is excellently high. The barbecue meats are the best here. If you go, definitely order them at least.

Great little quaint place if you want some comfort Chinese food. I stopped by on my way back to DC and it did not disappoint! I went to another Chinese restaurant the day before and I wish I came here instead! Food reminds me of nyc/home. Wontons were a good size, plump with a nice bite to it. Duck was really good and if you are craving shrimp rice rolls, you would have to verbally order it since it is not on the menu. Lady servers were nice. Loved everything so much I ordered food to go for me to bring back to DC. I will be definitely be back when I come back to Philly.

Ordered the Happy Family off the menu (22$) , to go, which is supposed to be shrimp, lobster, scallops, chicken. It turned out to be a dish of chicken and vegetables. The photo is the lobster it came with. That’s it. One 3/4 inch piece of lobster. I’d try and describe the “seafood soup,” but I don’t know what to say other than it was a big container of some bland broth.

I mainly go here, or order from here, because of their steamed chicken dumplings. Everything else is just mid. Not bad, just average. Service leaves something to be desired. There are much better Chinese restaurants in Chinatown.
