Lau Kee Restaurant
Got curious with this Restaurant so I decided to order via doordash. 左宗鸡 General Tso's Chicken - Some parts were not easy to chew. I had much better ones. It came with a side of rice. Soy 油鸡饭 Soy Sauce Chicken with Green Vegetable - this one my fave comparable to Sangkee. I love this one because tender, moist, juicy and has fat in the skin. Delish I am missing of the sauce on the side. This one is over rice. Huge portion of rice 烧鸭饭 Roasted Duck on Rice with Green Vegetable Q - the duck could have been better. The skin is not as crispy as I would like. Lack of flavor. Sangkee still has the best Roasted Duck. This one is over rice. Huge portion of rice I gave it a try but won't order here again. One and done
The shrimp dumplings was good and crunchy. The rice was Ard,very stiff and maybe microwaved, the wonton soup was ok. But that broth was popping. Most likely I won’t return.
Han Dynasty - Old City
We are big fans of the NYC outposts of Han Dynasty so it was fun to visit the mother ship. Food was delicious as always, staff was young and fun, but dishes and vibe were different too. We loved the happy hour menu which goes to 6:30. It encouraged us to try fried chicken dumplings and spicy pork belly which were delicious. Seemed like a lot of locals in there having fun. Then we had the dan Dan noodles (spicy!!!), shredded duck and a plate of fresh peas greens, two favorites. All yummy!
Who can enjoy a very spicy and salty meal with a spicy and salty attitude? Anyone dining here for the first time needs to be prepped on many things: spice level, family style meals, not customizable menu, cold dishes etc… but unfortunately we got the worst waiter who put the expectation on new customers to know and understand everything without explanation. The hosts and bartender were very nice. The food runner was professional. The waiter was openly expressing a strong attitude. Chicken dumplings flavorless. Dan Dan Noodles, you either love em or hate em. Pork Belly, cold but really good. Dry Pepper Wings, have potential but too salty. Garlic Sauce Chicken, really good. I also ordered a soup but i guess it was forgotten.
Dim Sum House By Jane G's - Rittenhouse
🎊🧧 AMAZING LUNAR NEW YEAR DINNER!!! Fabulous from beginning to end! Dim Sum really brought those festival vibes with their unforgettable Lion Dancers hyping up the dining room! And the food…. OMG Every dish, every bite was memorable! The Shanghai Wonton Soup and Hot & Sour Soups were elite! The Garlic Eggplant was 💯💯💯 and The Roast Pork Bao Bun was just criminal - so good it could have been dessert!
Slightly above average Chinese food. It’s great for groups and sharing everything family style. My favorites were the Dan Dan noodles (super soft noodles and yummy sauce) and stewed beef and turnip. I did not like the spicy tofu fish as the fish was too fishy, and did not like the texture of the string beans, which felt like it was not cooked thoroughly, altho the taste was pretty good with the pickled vegetables on top. Other dishes were good as well, including the soup dumplings and dry pot chicken. We ordered a tequila shot but it tasted like it was diluted with 50% water. It also took a very long time for the waiters to even get us a pencil for marking the menu. But after we ordered the food came out quite quickly.
China king
I've been going to China King for twenty plus years. It's a traditional neighborhood Chinese take-out place. I used to love their general tsos tofu - it seems to have changed hands recently so if you order lunch you get the old cook with the old (delicious) tofu but if you order dinner you get the new cook with new tofu (not as good). I will also say that the former proprietors/managers were nicer than the current ones. We still order from there fairly regularly. I have been loving the addition of Thai options which are consistently delicious (though I always ask for extra tofu because they tend to be light on protein otherwise.)
My Mom was craving Chinese and this used to be her favorite place. So we ordered a variety of Kung pao chicken & shrimp, satay chicken, garlic beef, steamed dumplings, hot & sour soup. The consensus from everyone is that it was just bland. A couple dishes were highlighted "spicy". Nope. Nothing that would make us order again. Eaten on Sunday night. There are options on the site to leave instructions for each dish, so you could ensure higher spice level.
Sang Kee Noodle House
My family and I went there on new year's eve dinner and we could walk in. There were several tables and the food were really food. The beef and broccoli was so good. Beef was soft. Everything else was so good too. Will definitely go back again.
We stopped by for dinner and were seated right away. The table and floor were somewhat sticky. We got the Crispy & Spicy Calamari Rings. While they were tasty, the panko bread crumbs were barely on the calamari and could have been fried a few seconds more. We got the Sweet & Sour Shrimp and the Taiwanese Spicy Beef Ramen with fried egg added on. The Sweet & Sour Shrimp came with pineapples and green peppers and a side of white rice. The Taiwanese Spicy Been Ramen was not spicy at all and had more of a soy sauce tasting broth than anything else. That dish was not very enjoyable. I have been here many times over the years and have always noticed their food is a bit bland.
Sunny Restaurant
BEST CHINESE FOOD I EVER💯 🥢 Seriously their fried rice is on point🎯🥡🤤 But everything my wife and I have had from there has been great. Plus fast service. I never write reviews but they deserve it.
Local Chinese store with okay food, I only really order small stuff , the wings are good but u definitely have to tell them to cook em till u can’t cook em no more hunny 😂, love my wings extra hard and extra salt and pepper
Super House
We always enjoyed food from "Super House" at corner 54th Master St. We go there instead of going to stores closer to us if we wanted Chinese food. Which is not often..Nevertheless, my husband went there yesterday to get his regular shrimp egg food young. He also ordered the Shrimp broccoli rolls and Vegetable Lomain for me. The only Vegetable in my Lomain was large fried onions..nothing else!!! My husband egg Patties were made with very little eggs. Basically nothing but rice & gravy...VERY DISAPPOINTED! The shrimp broccoli rolls taste pretty good. Even though it appeared to have less filling in them and more pieces of broccoli stalks instead of the broccoli flowers...Maybe the ownership changed hands..I plan to call them when they open this morning to express our displeasure. I may try the Shrimp Broccoli rolls again. 😔
I bought shrimp egg foo young. It wasn't good, the shrimp didn't taste cooked enough and a string like thing came off the backs of the shrimp. I have never experienced that b4. I will never go there again
Mai's Oriental Food
Cheap food but give you barely any meat. Truck looks very run down too. Will not return
Great value ; fresh food and my go to every week . The lines are well managed and both of them are very meticulous . Been having their food since 2016 when I was working at Bossone
Ridge Kitchen
Best Veggie Chow Mein I've had since moving to Philadelphia. The food here is great period. The service is awesome and he really makes sure you know what your ordering if you don't. The atmosphere is calm and clean . 10 outta 10 for me and is definitely my go to place when I want good food .
Solid Chinese restaurant. Overall good tasting food. Fried rice was really good. Lo mein was good, fried wontons were huge and really delicious. Wish they had steamed dumplings and might have given them 5 stars.
Far East Chinese Cuisine
Gary, the owner, was really hospitable and helpful while we were passing through the area and needed a place to pause after a long day in the car. Vegetable hofun (wide rice noodle) had lots of veggies - broccoli, carrots, bokchoy, onions, bean sprouts and zucchini. We don’t have Chinese takeouts that offer hofun in our area, so it was a nice treat.
Seriously the best take out Chinese food I can even remember having. The rice wasn’t too soft, the veggies were fresh & not overcooked, the chicken was tender & not rubbery & the kung pao sauce was perfect in flavor and proportionate to the rice/chicken/veggies.
Han Dynasty University City
I was craving something fresh and spicy and Han Dynasty was perfect! The garlic pork was so delicious and tangy, I got some eggplant that was perfectly cooked with balanced heat, and finally the dumplings with chili oil! All of it was perfect. If I lived here, I would be here all the time. Thank you for a lovely meal and pleasant service.
We enjoyed the food. Some dish might be quite oily but they were warm and fresh. Nice service.
TingTing’s
This was the first Hong Kong western restaurant I’ve been to after I saw Chinese Cooking Demystified’s video about it a while back. The kimchi bacon pasta was so good and honestly everything I want in a pasta - creamy, spicy, kimchi, and bacon. The Brussels sprouts were good but not the star in my opinion, unlike other comments. It’s pretty similar to wha you can get elsewhere so I’d get something more unique. I can’t wait to go back here.
I highly recommend the kimchi pasta !! The dish had fresh seafood and kimchi added such a nice flavor/texture to it. Hong Kong milk tea tasted very authentic! Portions are very generous and food comes out FAST.
