Chen VegetarianHouse
Literally the best vegetarian / vegan Asian restaurant I've ever been to. Quite possibly this is the best vegan restaurant full stop including all other food types. The service was friendly and excellent. I could not have asked for a nicer server. The food blew my mind because it was so good. They serve fresh juices and smoothies, plenty of variety of appetizers, reasonably priced lunch specials, a small selection of Thai foods, soups, sandwiches, and all of the Asian dishes you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. The spring rolls were tasty and crispy to perfection. General Tso's chicken was very yummy and came with some broccoli and rice. Everything is so tasty and I'm amazed that there are no animal products used in this restaurant. I was lucky to find free street parking right in front of the restaurant but I could imagine during busy times it might be difficult to find a place out front to park. Once I was inside, I saw a note on the menu saying that there is a free parking lot for the restaurant in back. *They do not take American Express cards so luckily I had cash on me.
I'm glad that I finally got to try Chen VegetarianHouse. I've heard about it for a long time and I know people that will drive almost an hour to eat there. The food was fantastic. Great flavors and textures for everyone to enjoy no matter what your eating preferences are. All of the food is vegan but recreates all the flavors and dishes that anyone would ever want at a Chinese restaurant. We tried the steamed dumplings, scallion pancakes, spring rolls, general tso's chicken, and the curry chicken. The staff is so helpful and friendly. It's a pleasure to dine there. Parking is accessible nearby and free on-street parking is free for long enough for your meal without worrying about running out of time.
Panda Inn
This is about the fourth time now I’ve found these little metal shavings in food from this place, this is just my first time actually being fed up with it and posting it. Was eating my noodles and felt something sharp in my throat and hawked this thing up which I can only assume is from a steel wool scrubber, please check your pots and pans after washing them, if a child were to choke on something like this, it could be a very bad situation. This is the exact reason why I don’t use steel scrubbers at home, just use those scotch brite scouring pads, don’t have to worry about metal shavings when the scrubby gets worn out.
As a resident of Topton, I gave this place the benefit of the doubt and gave it a few chances, but no more! This place has went downhill, its dirty looking inside the order area and kitchen, and their food is disgusting. The beef or chicken always comes out tasting like gristle / fat and the sauce tastes off. On top of that they always screw up my order. One time I called in for an order of Shrimp and Broccoli, specifically requesting "please please very lite on the sauce!". I clarified 5 times before I got off the call requesting for little to NO sauce. When i pick it up, its completely swimming in the sauce along with another container of extra sauce. No more...I will order from a place out of town or just make my own Chinese food.
Fortune Cafe
Finding good chinese food has been so difficult. Our family has resulted in learning how to make our favorite dishes at home just to get that comforting take out taste. We tried Good Fortune and the food was amazing! It was the first time in a long time we took bites of our food and were actually pleased with what we got. The foods amazing, the woman on the phone who took our order was great. It’s all around just a great spot. My only critique would be to offer delivery in the future, otherwise wonderful place
I'm from Lancaster and was wasting time waiting for my daughter at a birthday party. I got hungry and stopped in here... absolutely worth it! Got the General Tso Chicken combo, best I've ever had. My wife got the sweet and sour chicken combo and thought it was great. Lot of people were ordering the bourbon chicken and crab rangoons, so I'd give them a shot too. Excellent food, great price, fast service, definitely worth stopping in. $23 for two combos and 2 sodas is a great deal to me.
Wonderful House Chinese and Sushi
Great little hidden gem here in the Spring twp area! The sushi is fresh and the Chinese food is very flavorful! The front counter staff are very friendly! Photo attached is Spicy tuna and California rolls
I wanted this to be do good but it wasn't. No meat in the egg roll but just veggies. We ordered general tsos, our favorite, but it was weird. It wAs battered like sweet and sour chicken. I never saw it like this and the batter just became soft and mushy and fell off leaving plain chicken. Nasty. The rice needed flavor desperately. The veggie mix of broccoli and snow peas was good but the mushrooms were canned. Guess I must keep searching. I'm very sad. 55.00 bucks basically down the drain. It was edible but that's about all I can say.
Chan's
If your in the Southside of RDG you should eat at Chang's on South 4th Street. It's the best Chinese food in Berks County for sure.
i wish i could rate it 0 stars. The employees don't understand a lick of english therefore making communication difficult. Not only do they nof understand english but they are also blatantly rude. The food is nasty and old. Literal rats in the "restaurant".
Magic Wok
The food is delicious. My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time tonight and we will be returning. We ordered lo mein, spare ribs, sweet and sour chicken and egg rolls. Everything was hot and fresh. They are open late at night which is good.
My mom and I just picked up food here for our family while at the hospital like 5 minutes ago and it's 100% the best I've had in awhile, 10/10 would go again and would recommend. Great portions amazing quality!
Wong's Chinese Restaurant
Ate here while on Vacation in Ephrata! I'm a WHOLE Chicken wings girl !! I can't do the breakdown and calling it wings! Call the cops leave my whole wing in one piece!. Well my Love wanted Chinese!, I'm like cool I'm craving wings!, I called 10 different places in Pa! For whole wings! the disrespect and heartache I felt lol when half said they didn't do whole!.. I called Wong's back (still in debate they won!). Becaaauuuuse!! they offered hella rice options INCLUDED!! in what you ordered We were stunned!.. so it's regular white rice, pork fried rice, combination rice, shrimp fried rice, chicken rice, veggie fried rice! We're like well DAAAMN!!.. we don't have those options at home!! We gotta get a $12 separate box or 4.00 up charge to be included in our meal smfhhh. We ordered 4pc chicken wings Whole!!!( soo hyped!!) with shrimp fried rice for 11.62!!! and General Tso chicken with shrimp fried rice!! & egg roll for 11.62!! ... for a 35 minute drive it was worth it!!!...The Chicken Wings smelled and tasted exactly like Chinese carryout wings but these were more seasoned (chicken meat like brined & seasoned well), crispy skin! The shrimp fried rice was very good too!!, my love General Tso chicken was more meaty!! Crispy, Sauce was enough! tender& juicy (Than the place we tried when we first got to Pa & didn't know about Wongs). I felt like home! should've got some wings before we left but they opened too late and we had to go back home home. Best believe this will be my Go-To for Chinese whenever I come to Pa! and not too far in another part of Pa!. The Ambiance was cool neat , polite , ppl waiting for orders!. So skip China Moon or whomever else you're looking to get from lol
I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good place to eat out! This restaurant serves delicious food, it is savory and has a lot of flavour. The restaurant also gives it's customers very generous amounts of food in each of the meals in the order. The employees are hardworking, and they are always making sure that customers are satisfied with their service. The layout of the restaurant is very nice and comfortable, I highly recommend going here! I adore the way these employees make my food, so much I’d enjoy getting the number of one of the boys there. Having one of my own that can make this amazing food would be a dream. Just a thought! Overall I will be coming back time and time again.
China Fun
The food was delicious, I got C28 Beef with Garlic sauce. Perfectly spicy heat and a good mix of vegetables. Quick and friendly service. Clean inside, though a little dated. Great place for a quick lunch or dinner! Definitely going again.
Order food from this place for delivery after waiting for it for 1 hr and 30 min the chicken wings were undercooked and the shrimp fried rice that I ordered with peas came plain with shrimp. First and last time ordering here.
China Wok
I called to place an order and called back because I forgot to order something and she was very loud and indignant just incase they read these I can be a little more clear( very rude)! She was yelling to the point I barley understood. She said something about i ordered an egg foo young now you calling to order something else you don't want... I told her maybe she misunderstood cause you being really rude and that's not like you. Come to find out I ordered at the wrong place found out when i went to pick up. I never intended to order here I knew my usual place never speak that way they are very friendly. This place on the other hand I have gotten food poisoning from before and customer service is unprofessional ana unnecessary and I wouldn't spend my money on a place like that. If your not happy in your line of business don't have one. Respect the people that keep your business going.
Very nice people making excellent food, They take special requests too if you want more spicy like Hunan style.
No.1 Chinese Restaurant
My parents and I have been coming here for years but haven't been back as often because our last experience was below par. We decided to give it another chance today. I ordered yellow curry chicken with brown rice and my father ordered chicken lo mein with pork fried rice. My yellow curry chicken was cold and old, so much so that it no longer had sauce because of t had become gelatin. The brown rice was severely undercooked, in-eatable. I asked to please exchange the rice and was brought white rice that was ok. The server was not pleasant at all. My father's lo mein was also cold and his rice had little to no ingredients, especially not pork. This was $40 and I could not eat, except for the egg roll. That was good. I feel bad because we love the owner. He has always been kind but unfortunately, kindness doesn't satisfy the belly 🤷🏼♀️
We enjoyed the food and relaxing dining in experience so much recently, we just happened to be drawn back today. Great people and small dining room still felt like a relaxing time to us. I really mean it when I say they are great people in this small restaurant. And dine in is awesome!!!! Thank you all at No.1 Chinese Restaurant ❤️
New Happy Wok
It was a free for all, and since I pass many stores during my 45 minute commute home from work, I decided to stop at a random restaurant for some wonton soup. The service was quick, and the place appeared clean, but the soup was disappointing. As you may recall, I ordered wonton soup, but it was mostly noodles with very little meat filling and a bland broth. Even adding dried noodles didn’t improve it. They might have other great dishes, but unfortunately, I’ll never know—I value first impressions.
40 mins later and I am still standing in the grubby store waiting for my order Along with 10 other customers 7 of which were here before me. Food has been sitting out for 29 minuets hopefully it’s not mine.
China V
We eat here once a week and have for 3 years, always consistent the egg rolls are bomb I love it here!
Ordered for lunch for the first time since Joyful house was closed. This may have been the worst General Tso chicken I've ever had. Chicken itself is dry and chewy and has a really weird flavor (definitely not general tso). Rice was average at best. If you are considering this place, don't. Go to Joyful House down the street at least their food tastes as advertised.
