Nom Street
Lovely desserts! Came here for my birthday with my family and we had really wonderful, delicious desserts
Nom³ Street is located inside Honeymoon Dessert in SkyCity Plaza in Scarborough. It is such a nostalgic food cart concept from HK, where we get to enjoy classic HK-styled street food in skewers! My favoruites were definitely the curry fishballs, cuttlefish balls, and red sausage! Their housemade curry is extra SPICY, but you can also get non-spicy curry with your order ^^
Queen's Kitchen Restaurant
Good food and affordable price I really recommend to this place
Asian Legend
Soup dumplings are good and hot but are not as souped up compared to the one in Leslie + Finch location (closes permanently Sept 30). You can see in the picture that it is a bit shriveled up The smoked bbq duck was great. Definitely recommend rice or noodles to go with it as it's salty. The price of these items are too expensive nowadays sadly. $13.99 for 6 crab meat soup dumplings is not it. The waiter is super nice and merged and additional table to give us more eating space
A good Northern Chinese food experience. Dim Sum is quite limited in options but has quite unexpected good selections of land and duck.
Swatow Restaurant
I recently visited this Chinese restaurant, and it was a great experience! The atmosphere felt authentic, giving me a true taste of traditional Chinese dining. The menu had a fantastic variety of options, making it hard to choose, but everything we ordered was delicious. The fried noodles were especially good — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone craving a satisfying and authentic Chinese meal. Would definitely come back again!
One of my absolute favorite Chinese restaurants in Toronto! The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I particularly love their impressive selection of vegetables—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The staff here are exceptional—warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable, making every visit a pleasure. Swatow truly captures the heart of authentic Chinese dining, and it’s a go-to spot for anyone looking for a memorable meal. Highly recommend!
Congee Queen - North York(Lawrence/Don Mills)
I personally love congee queen and always went to the centrepoint mall location. We decided to try the OG location. It was goooood! Its a much smaller location. All dishes had great umami flavour. They tasted like how good congee queen dishes taste. I loved it and cant wait to go back.
Every time we go to Toronto, we go to this Congee Queen location for dinner the day we arrive. This Congee Queen is the best among other Congee Queen locations. We normally order Fried Rice Noodle with beef (E25), Chicken fried rice with Salted Fish (H11), Snow Pea Leaves stir fried with garlic (K17). The food portion is always huge. The taste is consistently good. If you pay cash, you get 10% discount. The only thing we don’t like is their in-house spicy sauce. It wasn’t spicy at all. Too much vinegar put in the sauce. Not tasty at all. I hope that the restaurant management can get the spicy sauce from any supermarket instead of making the sauce in the kitchen to save cost.
Yummy House
We have ordered catering from them in the past. They have tasty authentic dishes such as shrimp with ginger and garlic, Chinese vegetables, noodles, General Tso chicken. They also offer “snacky” meal to appeal to the kids and husband with item like popcorn chicken with fries, chicken burgers and chicken balls (for nostalgia). Everything is made in-house and fresh. The kids love their bubble teas as a special treat. We get frozen homemade dim sum for lazy lunches. The owner said they are the second generations in the food industry so some recipes are past down from the chef’s Father. We highly recommend them!
I'm very grateful to have visited! The owners were very accommodating and you can tell they care about their patrons - big portion at a great price! Susan even offered me a seat to eat at their only table rather than going back out into the cold to look for a place.
Menali Restaurant
One of the best meals I’ve had in ages. Menali has an extensive menu that I look forward to exploring. Today I started simple with chili chicken (medium heat), garlic rice and mountain hariyali momos. Every dish was a home run. The chili chicken was delicious and well spiced and the garlic rice was wonderful with bits of flavourful garlic mixed through. The momos were probably the highlight. Beautifully presented, they were delicious and came with two accompanying sauces (mild and very hot—both very good). My taste buds were dancing. The service was excellent and I enjoyed chatting with the friendly server who promised to recommend some delicious Indian dishes on my next visit. This family run business offers up incredible meals--I’ll be back again soon. A real gem on the Danforth.
We stopped by Menali a few weeks ago for a date night dinner on the weekend. The restaurant is well rated and has a good amount of variety in Indian (and Hakka) cuisine on the menu. The restaurant is a lovely space. There's plenty of seating here. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We ordered a variety of dishes. Starting with chilli fried Momos, which was not enjoyable as they seemed a bit overdone. Momos are generally light and fluffy. In this case, the outer crust was crisp but then the Momo as a whole was quite chewy. The 'chilli sauce' is quite flavourful and savoury, while a little on the salty side. Not a bad starter but I would avoid the fried version. For our mains we ordered tandoori shrimp, saffron rice and an eggplant curry. The shrimp were a miss. They were overcooked and chewy. The mint sauce however is quite good. The eggplant curry is a little on the sweeter side but we both enjoyed it. It's creamy, savoury and spiced nicely. Paired with rice or naan this was excellent. Lastly the naan and rice here are pretty good. Saffron pilav was good but again not worth the price imo. Overall, this is a pleasant restaurant for a nice meal but if you're looking for good Indian food, Menali might disappoint.
Grand Restaurant - Phoenix Bakery
Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! This fruit cake strikes some childhood memories as this was a staple for birthdays in my household. What makes my family return each year is the professionally baked sponge cake with a moist texture, fresh fruit, and frosting that's not-too-sweet.
I love this place. Buns are cheap and delicious.I have been going to this place since I was little while stopping by the markets in China Town. The employees don't talk to you so you can just walk in, grab a tray and take your time looking at all the pastry options. Cash only!!!!
Khao Hakka
I’ve visited Khao Hakka Fresh twice now, and it’s quickly become my go-to spot for Indian-Chinese food in Toronto! I’ve tried a lot of places, but this is the first that truly delivers that authentic Indian twist I was looking for. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the dishes capture the unique taste I grew up with. If you’re craving Indian-style Chinese food, I highly recommend giving Khao Hakka Fresh a try!🤌🏼
I used to like this place since 3 yrs ago and ordered frequently from here but hadn't ordered in a long time. Ordered today and was extremely disappointed immediately after receiving the order. I had heard from another person that their quality went down but I decided to give it another shot. I ordered the Chilly Chicken and egg fried rice combo worth $29!! Sure enough the egg fried rice is a joke. It came with 3 pieces of eggs, white rice, some carrots and onions. What a daylight robbery!! $14.50 for plain white rice? No garnish, no spring onions, no EGGS. Such a turn off that I haven't even opened the chilly chicken yet. Acts like these make the restaurants go extinct. Guaranteed I will not be ordering from here ever again unless the quality changes for better. Edit: The owner has responded to my review and instead of taking ownership for their own low quality, robbing methods; complained about other restaurants charging way more than $14.50 for food that the restaurants buy pre-made. I know taking a real review and not such a positive review can be hard but hey you know you are trying to sell low quality with higher prices. Peak sarcasm and another way to say we are sorry you were not impressed by our low quality high prices but it is what it is and that's what the market is offering. Thank you, owner, you just made my point clear that the egg fried rice was low quality and did not justify the price at all by explaining and comparing to other low quality restaurants. Thanks, barred this restaurant off the list. Albeit, a very happy new year to you. Wasn't hoping to start off with a tiff.
Tender Trap Restaurant
Tender Trap, located on Parliament Street in Toronto, is a great little establishment where I travel to grab meals that are my favorite. The salmon, rice, and vegetables and the must have tender trap meals . 😋 delicious, and the service is good and most definitely the prices are good 👍.
June 2024 Not a fancy place (inside or out), but the prices are cheap, the restaurant is clean, and the service was fast. A hugh menu. This place has probably been here a long time as there was a constant number of customers eating in the restaurant, and they were busy with takeout orders. Would definitely return here for another meal.
Jing Chinese Restaurant
Such a steal for a whole Peking duck at just $49, especially during the no-GST time. The duck was fresh and delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We also tried the Dan Dan noodles, which were quite good. Service was decent. The only downside is that they don’t provide enough pancakes for the Peking duck and charge extra for more. However, it’s not a big deal considering the $49 price for a whole duck is already a great value. They also have a lobster deal coming in February— which will probably bring me back!
The food was incredible. I went today and got half a Peking duck and the Shanghai noodles with beef and it was great. The duck was juicy and hot and I could see the juices dripping when the server was cutting the duck table side. The Shanghai noodles were probably the best I’ve had in the gta. The noodles were fresh and the quality just exceeded my expectations. The servers were so kind and very attentive. The restaurant was also beautiful and I will definitely be going back.
Mogouyan Hand Pulled Noodle 磨沟沿老字号兰州牛肉面
A nice place, waiters are very attentive, food is fantastic and the choice is diverse. I took the bean jelly, the jelly itself doesn’t have any taste but the sauce is nice. Soup was fantastic, all the noodles and the broth. Even the water they give is not from tap, tastes nice. Prices are very fair for the downtown, i was pleasantly surprised. Washroom needs a better cleaning, i don’t think they washed floors there since the opening of the place. Hope that changes. Overall, enjoyed the experience and will come again.
We came to Mogouyan for lunch on a cold day. We arrived just as they were opening, which was good because they have limited tables, and it quickly got quite busy with the lunch rush. The service was quick and the food was very good. I preferred the noodle with minced beef paste over beef noodle soup with pickle. I just found the soup a bit too salty for my taste. That might have been from the pickled veg. Overall, we had a good experience, and I would try Mogouyan again for a quick lunch.
