Chef Peng
This place will always, always, be my favorite!!! I think her name is Anna, she always remembers me when I come through she makes me feel so very special. I don’t have to tell her my name when I call and order she already knows, and when she sees me, she lights up. I absolutely love her. She’s really the reason why I come back there. But their food is 🔥🔥🔥 too!!
Always in search of the Best local Chinese restaurant around our area. Sorry, Maggie (chef peng) but Chef Chen (Warren) is still holding the #1 spot. We ordered the kunpao shrimp with lo mein noodles ($2 extra) The quantity was smaller and costlier than Chef Chen. The taste was "meh," too much bell peppers, too little shrimp. Service was good, Nice large clean dining room. Plenty of free parking. We may come back to try their orange beef and strawberry chicken- interesting 🤔. Chef Peng is closer and deserves a second chance. The many negative reviews were unsubstantiated and without merit.
China Wok
Okay I love ordering from this place because they have good food but tonight I had a gentleman answer the phone and take my order and he tried to tell me that I couldn't order pork fried rice with a large General I know that's a lie because I've been ordering it like that for years but anyway I called them and told them they gave me white instead of the pork fried I didn't speak with the lady like I usually do I spoke with the same gentleman that took the order and he tells me so you weren't charged for a pork fried rice if you look at your menu well why would I look at the menu I'm not the one that marked it you are can you tell them your kid has an allergy to the white and he says well if you want to drive down here in order one you can are you kidding me I want what I paid for it so I'm going to have to agree with a lot of other people very ignorant and very rude now that would have been anywhere else in Niles that someone would have ordered from they would have fixed it and they would have been nice about it not telling you to drive down there and just order it like what my car is sitting right now in can't be drove I didn't order a delivery for nothing ignorant very ignorant man I would have rather dealt with the main woman
I recently visited this restaurant. A few years ago I had heard some negative media about China Wok in Niles. My most recent visit was excellent. The food was delicious. Broccoli and shrimp was off the chain. I will return.
Main Loon
The food was pretty good- our only complaint was that my husbands kung pao chicken was more like kung pao celery. Way over half of his dish was just celery
Flavorless food pork fried rice no pork in the rice sesame chicken flavor less pork egg roll full of cabbage and no meat in the pork wantons
Lucky Wok
I live in Des Plaines but this is my "go to" Chinese food for pickup and delivery. Everything I've gotten has been good and portions are generous too. Chicken Lo Mein, MaPo Tofu are among my favorites.
Great food. Pot stickers were nice and crispy and the Mongolian beef was delish.
KyoDong Noodles
They have some really delicious noodles soup!! Definitely a place to try 👍👍
I ordered # 11- Seafood noodles. 2 pcs of small shrimp over cooked. 1 pcs shellfish. 1 small pcs leg. Mostly noodles. Too pricey for noodles alone. Will not recommend.
Jang Choong Dong Korean Restaurant
This is an authentic Korean restaurant - not fusion, not trendy, just classic Korean fare. The selections of meats were delicious (pork belly and brisket,) and the selection of 반찬 was more than what most places offer. This place is truly delicious and great - and it's a vibe a lot of new places are moving away from unfortunately. Please give this place a try when you're around the area.
First time here, we had all you can eat. We were served by a couple ladies. They were super nice and friendly. They cooked food for you and tried to help us with the grill. The food was just amazing! The service was fantastic. A+ all around
Panda Express
My absolute favorite Panda Express location ever! I feel like the food is always fresh no matter what day or time I get takeout from here. The portion sizes they give are always filling and beyond satisfactory. I have no complaints. Even eating it as leftovers the next day or two is still tastes amazing!
For the longest time, I saw Panda Express as cheap, unappealing Chinese food that I’d occasionally crave once or twice a year. But every time I ate, I was like yea, no more panda for a year. So, I ranked Panda Express at the bottom of the fast food chain obviously. However, this particular LOCATION completely changed my perspective. About two months ago, it was about time, so I ate from this Panda, and I was so impressed. The meal was hot, perfectly cooked, not overly salty or oily, just a delightful and affordable meal. Impressed, I downloaded the app, thinking I might actually visit this place more frequently. Now, I've been coming here roughly every two weeks, and it never disappoints! I never imagined I’d enjoy Panda Express this much. I genuinely want to applaud the cook and manager for their excellent work. Many other reviews seem unrealistic—expecting more beef than broccoli in a $10 meal? Come on. I definitely recommend kung Pao chicken and teriyaki chicken for sure. Sweet chicken thingy and shrimp was meh.
Twin Dragon Restaurant
Delicious and large portions. This is a Korean-style Chinese restaurant. The staff were very friendly. It was our first time eating in (we had delivery once before). We were surprised by how large it is inside! We ordered jjajangmyeon (짜장면 sweet black bean noodles), jjambbong (짬뽕 spicy seafood noodles), and Mongolian beef. Everything was good, especially the jjambbong! We will definitely come again, with a larger group of people next time!
Food and service were great. Two servers checked on us numerous times. The restaurant is family friendly. My partner and I were craving orange chicken and wanted to order that but Won, our server, gave us a heads up that their orange chicken is not the same as most people are accustomed to. Won went out of his way to show us how it looked like on the menu and described that the orange chicken was filleted and not completely breaded. We ended up ordering general chicken and chicken wings, and we loved them! Definitely a must try and will come back for more! Thanks Won!
RED WOK
Subpar. But in a Korean food court… The beef jajiang noodles were non eventful. Very bland and sorry onions do not count as a vegetable. The sweet and sour pork must have been a bad take off of a Chinese style dish. Gravy had a sour flavor, acidic, should have had a sweetness that balanced the sour, not there. Add insult to onions again, that along with carrots and cabbage were served raw in the gravy. Not even blanched. It was also a fail. Again very bland. Needed seasoning. Needless to say no need for a return visit.
They just put lots of onions inside. Taste is not like jjajang. Just onions taste. But i like the noodles
China Star Restaurant
Decent Chinese food, although I wish their orange chicken was spicier. Great crab rangoon. Egg rolls are okay. The owners are nice people.
The food here is sensational. I ordered the orange chicken and it was around $8. That is an incredible price. My mouth was watering before I had my first bite. The food was so good I had to edge and I could barely control my urges. I 100% recommend and I will be coming back:)
Honest Niles
Very bad honest restaurant experience. Have been to another locations, which are amazing, but the food here is not edible at all. They did not get a basic “papdi chat” dish right as it tasted like nothing except garlic sauce. We were told the rava masala dosa will take 25-30 mins and after that you expect it to come out hot but tasted like 2 days old and nothing like a dosa. Same thing with uttapam, which very just buttered and crispy and also had peas, never expected that in an uttapam. The only decent dish was noodles. Another bad dish was manchurian, which was burnt and rock hard. All the food served was not even warm, and just oily & microwaved. Nothing tasted freshly made.
The only good thing about this store is plenty of seating.Food was below average. Had Pav Bhaji, Poori , Mango falooda. All of them were average. Mango Falooda was very bland and I couldn’t finish it all. Wish they could be more authentic.
