China City
Food was really excellent. I got sesame chicken, white rice and scallion pancakes. The chicken has a subtle flavor I guess I’ve been missing. They were delicious. Scallion pancakes were slightly underdone and doughy. How I think they should be done tbh. Wish they added a few more scallions though. That little extra freshness would have went a long way. Near perfect rating from me. Hope this helps!
China City, or more accurately known by it's other name Sichuan Gourmet is a wonderful Sichuanese restaurant in Kent. The place offers both Chinese-American classics and authentic Sichuanese food seldom found in the Akron Metro area. When I went there last I had Pork Belly served over preserved cabbage and it gave me that Sichuan kick I was craving. I also ordered a side of Fried Buns with condensed milk to dip in which were very good but would probably go better with a sweeter entrée. The staff was not rude but also not the most pleasant. They were all business but did serve us in a timely manner and were attentive. The atmosphere and decor of this place is also very nice especially on a busy day. I hope to come back here the next time I crave Sichuanese Food.
Kent Super Buffet
Super great value and service for $22! Zero complaints. I haven’t been to an Asian buffet in years and this place had a lot of great seafood. Sure, some of the hot dishes weren’t perfect but the hibachi grill beats it all. I’d gladly come again when I’m next in the area.
Kent Super Buffet is pretty good. When I called, the gentleman who answered the phone said it was $23.99. So, my wife and I headed straight from Tacoma to try it out. For two of us, we paid $56.78. When I asked the owner, and said it's 23.99 per person, right? He said, “Yes, plus tax.” It appears that he charged $8.80 in tax. There have to be some additional charges in there. That's okay, but I wish he had itemized the receipt so we know. It's our first time eating here, and the food is fresh, especially the steamed/ boiled head-on shrimp and the crawfish. The lobster claws are good, except they gave us one crab cracker to crack the claws. The lobster claw was so hard it bent the device. The server did not come by to refill our drinks, but there was a lady who came by and picked up our plates. She does not serve the drinks.
Chopsticks
Incredibly friendly staff and well kept on the inside. The food is very good, well seasoned and well portioned as well! The friendly servers also remember you by name, even if you haven’t been by in a while. A hidden gem for sure. Don’t sleep on the Mongolian tofu! The photo is from a take out order.
We had my niece's surprise birthday dinner here, and it turned out to so well. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Their party space was perfect to set up some decor and make the birthday girl feel special. And their chicken wings are DELISH!
Ming Cheng Restaurant
I've been coming to this restaurant for 5 years now, and it never fails to please. I love the lunch specials - got sesame chicken with veggie fried rice today. When I get sick, I always always get a quart of chicken and rice soup. simple, easy, light, comforting. I'm also a huge fan of the fried dumplings
My fiancé and I absolutely LOVE Ming Cheng! It's been our go-to take out restaurant for years. The owners are always so nice (on the phone and in person) and the food is ALWAYS delicious. It's affordable, timely, and we always are happy with our meals. Thank you, Ming Cheng for being such an incredible staple in Kent!!!
V Garden
Why this restaurant gets such low review score? It is a really authentic one for Chinese food, especially the soup. Their service is excellent as well. They help with getting food into the to-go box, which is now rarely seen in Chinese restaurants service, no matter Seattle or the bay area. Price is also very reasonable. They deserve at least four stars. Since it’s now underscored a lot, I am giving it five stars.
I was shocked to see the bill of $336.40 for the dishes we ordered as shown in the picture 😱and we still leave them tip of $46.60. So our total bill was $380. The lobster was less than 3lbs. I buy lobster regularly at 99 Ranch market, I can tell from my experiences how much it weighs. We brought a box of frozen tempura and oyster to asking them to fry for us. I truly believe the boss lady treated us as tourists and she charged us the way she did. ( she asked if we were 1st time customers) sadly to mention, I wasn’t the first time customer. But, she couldn’t recognize me. I’m not a big fan of Chinese food but I like the taste of their food , that’s why we went to V Garden to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I know I will never go back to this restaurant ever again 👎
Evergreen Chinese Restaurant & Buffet
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! I opted for the buffet, and it was absolutely worth it. The food was delicious, with a great variety of dishes, and the flavors were spot on. The service was exceptional, the staff was incredibly polite, attentive, and welcoming. The best part is that the prices are very reasonable for the quality and taste they offer. Whether you’re looking for a buffet or a regular dining experience, this place is definitely a must-try!
It is a good value $12 for lunch $15 for dinner for an all you can eat buffet is great. But the food is ok at best. Nothing is amazing here there is not an item that is a standout winner or anything I'd recommend. The food isn't very warm either it's slightly above room temperature. The food that is supposed to be cold though is like freezer cold though. But again for $15 you can't really argue with that. It is is in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. There is plenty of seating here as well so there usually is not a wait. There are servers here that come and take a dri k order and take away plates and refill your drinks. So just be aware of that. That you will need to tip on top of the $15.
Imperial Garden Beijing Duck Restaurant
Pretty place for dimsum and dining, but if you stop by late close to the closing time these guys smoke inside the restaurant. So that’s the turn off for me. It got on my clothes and I inhale their cigarette smokes.
It used to be good and delicious, now it is just taste different. Probably not coming back anytime soon. Siu mai pretty good. Rice roll is so wringkly than the picture they have.
Panda Express
Not too bad for fast food Chinese! Prices are ok, staff is nice and food is usually pretty good. I had a bowl with Super Greens & String Bean Chicken. It was really good, but my only complaint is undercooked Broccoli. It's hard to chew! The chicken was tender and flavorful. Other than that, I enjoyed it and would return.
Fast food atmosphere with Chinese restaurant food more commercialized and available to view what you are getting. Assembly line format from beginning to cash register. They need to have rice noodles for the gluten-free group. Broccoli was firm, with stems attached. Rice was slightly dry, but I liked the egg and vegetables in it. Too much rewards push and round up at register. Flavor pretty good and a wide selection. I'd return. Seemed clean as well. Kent Ohio area.
No. 1 Chinese Kitchen
We ordered the lunch special just something quick to eat. I got sweet-and-sour chicken, which was OK not much chicken. My boyfriend got orange chicken and it looked like it was reheated in the microwave. His rice was old and cold the chicken as well and his orange chicken looks old and was hard and just tasted nasty.
3rd time I’ve ordered 25-30mins ahead of time and they tell me 15mins. I walk in they are on the phone laughing in an empty restaurant…sees me then starts to put my frozen chicken in a microwave…I walked out. I order this far in advance because I need to get back to work.
Shanghai Chinese Restaurant
I went to this restaurant to pickup our order. It is Sunday night and they were super busy. I am from Taiwan so I didn’t have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised; the food was fantastic. They served us as best they could given the number of orders they had. Some customers seemed a bit upset for having to wait so long (about 20-30 min for my order to complete which seemed reasonable to me given we ordered a lot) We really liked the sushi rolls and I loved the chicken chow mein. I gave them a larger tip (their family was all working as quickly as they could to serve everyone) Would I go back again ? Absolutely !!! I thought the food was very good
So grateful for this place! Favourite restaraunt in Kent CT. Food is very good and clearly authentic especially for the price. Recommend the mapo tofu. It comes out really fast too. The atmosphere is decent (not very lively) as well as the service. When i went the waiter forgot that we needed to order so I had to go out and tell them. But overall I am planning to come here again many more times because its very close!
San Wok Express
I Love Their Food, but recently my fave the chow me in switched from bigger noodles to small thin noddles. they also put way more cabbage than usual. The taste is still great but Please switch back to the other noodles ! 🙏🏽
We ordered 90 dollars worth of take out and it was awesome!! I placed the order for our family and My Dad went and picked it up! It was hot!Great tasting, and my Moms honey walnut shrimp was the best I had ever tasted! I had the Happy Family and the meat and veggies was tasty and fresh! This will be the only place we go for chinese food!
