China Express
Nice little storefront Chinese restaurant. Service is fast and friendly, and no complaints about the food. Check for yourself, but they seem to be open seven days a week - at least they are open on Sundays when I was there. Interior was clean and bright. It’s right beside the big Food Lion.
Even though it's about a 30-minute drive from my place, I always prefer this spot for quick Chinese food. The chicken is consistently fresh, and the rice is consistently moist. My go-to order is the shrimp fried rice with a chicken wing and an added egg. The service is prompt, usually completed within 15 minutes of placing the order.
Number One China
Great prices, great portions, great service. It's very standard fast Chinese food, but sometimes that's exactly what you're looking for. It's no nonsense straightforward Chinese food, and that's great!
Got the scallops with shrimp fried rice , and it was nasty. I’m not sure what kind of cooks he’s been having back there lately but it ain’t hitting like it use to. How you not cook the shrimp fried rice right, that’s like the easiest damn dish ? 🤨 The owner needs to get back in there and start helping them cooks cause it’s definitely a struggle going on, and it will cost business if it continues on. Also , no greetings upon coming up to check out your order , just straight attitude. and think you’re gonna get a tip like that ? Need a class for how to be professional.
New China Inn
The food was pretty good. Very large portions and seasoned pretty well for (American) Chinese food. The prices are on par with other Chinese take out places but the interior looked like an abandoned shopping center storefront!!! Cardboard boxes stacked everywhere, an old Buffett island collecting dust, hand written menu items, etc. If they would clean up the inside (and get the shopping center to clean up outside) it would have gotten darn near 5 stars.
Hot and sour soup best I've had in a long time. Huge portions only begins to explain how big they are. Lo mein is great, wings are really good. I recommend trying this place.
Lam's Chinese Restaurant
We go here pretty often and love everything we get. The beef and broccoli and the wings combos are our favorites. I recently tried the House Wonton Soup and it was so good! Packed full of veggies and protein and the wontons are huge! The broth was incredibly and I definitely want to order this again. We also recently tried the Asian Spicy Wings. They weren't too spicy, they're a little sweet and really really good! The Cherry Blossom Sushi is another favorite of ours. They put the sauce right on top and the shrimp tempura in it is always nice and crispy! The bourbon chicken is good too... there's too many to list, I've loved everything I've had from here!
If you're looking for classic Chinese food to chow down on, this is the place! The dinner servings are huge but the egg rolls are even bigger! Recommend the lo mein side in the dinner combos over the fried rice, rice is okay but not as good as the lo mein. Egg rolls were really good. The mains, General Tso and Chicken Broccoli, were also really good. Hug portions, easily enough for 2 or even 3 meals per serving! We also ordered soup, both fantastic and we're taking leftovers as well. We ate in and the service was really fast, everything came out hot and we saw a lot of to-go/delivery orders. They even have a drive through!
Flying Tiger
this is such a great place to dine!! food is always really good- service is ALWAYS GREAT- our table never has stacked plates like other restaurants fail to keep clean!! our waters NEVER empty!! trays are filled promptly! typical china buffet desserts and fruits! also- affordable to feed the family and open fairly late- great for a celebration lunch/dinner, or when you don't have time to cook!! *vegetarian/vegan options aka noodles and veg* ^photos were taken at 8p on a sunday!
A modest but reliable Chinese restaurant close to the heart ofthe seat of Moore County, Flying Tiger is popular with locals for its small buffet available 6 days in the week. The remarkable egg rolls that are made in-house are highly recommended. But the ready-made spring rolls not so much.
NO.1 China
Me and my mom go here all the time when we want something quick and simple. The food delicious and they make it very fast so if you’re in a hurry this is a good place to go for takeout. Overall good place to eat.
Severely disappointed. General confusion about my order; seriously question the cleanliness of this restaurant. I purchased multiples of one item and every iteration was different. They may have woks, they may have staff that know what they’re about… but from ingredients to execution something is missing at each step. Gummy, filmy frozen pancakes, flimsy dumplings–“gyoza” I could purchase frozen at the grocery store–sauce above substance with each dish. There is a market here but they’re missing the mark.
China Garden Buffet
Everything was so appealing that I ate until I was over-full (and I never do that). A delightful variety of fried foods, fresh veggies, noodle/rice dishes, steaming soups, cold hand-rolled sushi and sweetie desserts! Oh - I loved it. The best Chinese food buffet I've (over) enjoyed in a very long time, with attentive service! Was about $30 for 2 adults and worth every penny
I've been wanting to eat here for a while so when I was in the area I took the chance and it did not disappoint. The Staff was extremely friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and the food was really good. It is also very clean here and considering how busy they were I was impressed!
Yang Garden
When they mess up your order they don’t like to give you your money back or give you the complete order all over again. They think they should only fix part of the order. Why the hell would I want rice that was from the day before when the rest of the order was wrong and because I was out of town, you said I could come back the next day to get my order and you give me part of the order because you said the rice should be good. I will never eat there again.
Best Gen. Tso chicken I've had in a long time! Rice was delicious, too! Did was ready right when I was told it would be!
China Town
My favorite place to get Chinese coming all the way from Lumberton just to have the best food out of. There are no new York style places in Lumberton.
Fast and friendly service. Fried rice combination was ok but veggies and seafood wasn't really freshly made.
Ming Moon II
Food was good until I get towards the end of my plate and noticed there was a small black bug mixed in the Lo Mein. Had I not noticed it had legs I probably would’ve ate it. Safe to say, I threw the plate away along with the second one I purchased. This is not to bash the restaurant but please be sanitary. Bugs should not be in people’s food. This is unacceptable.
Not bad, but Had better, wouldn't go back, unless no other option. Not to be mean but it's just Average
Double Happiness Chinese Restaurant
Double Happiness does not disappoint. The Wrightsville Ave location was a neighborhood favorite of mine when we lived in Wilmington. After moving away in 2013, we have to have it again anytime we were in town. This time we visited the Ogden location and had a wonderful dining experience. This is not fast food Chinese food (although they do offer to go). It is so nice to have authentic Chinese food in a relaxed fine dining atmosphere. When we were there this past week the food was amazing! Not only did we have a wonderful meal there, we got a couple entrees to go to warm up for dinner the next day. May gave us pointers on reheating the food and it was also delicious. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Shane was our waiter. He was very nice and patient while we decided what to order. Tony and I started with fried shrimp that came with a sesame sauce. For our entrees, he had the "Ants climbing a tree" and I had the Mu Shu pork. Both were excellent. Big portions! Leftovers! Our friends had the spring rolls, beef with broccoli and general Tao's chicken. Also very good. Great place for Chinese foods!
Peking Gourmet
Tried this place for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered broccoli and beef with pork fried rice. Broccoli was crunchy, beef was tender, I asked for light sauce so it was just the perfect amount. But the star was the fried rice. Outside of big city Chinatowns this is one of the best fried rice I've had. It was cooked over very high heat, hence it wasn't greasy, and the high heat imparts a flavor that we call 'wok hei' loosely translated to 'wok breath'. Once you have it, you will know the difference. Looking forward to more takeout/delivery. Came back and was just as good.
Ordered on Christmas as is tradition every year. Everything was so greasy. Egg rolls and wontons not crispy at all soaking wet and soggy from the grease drenched napkins. The general tso was not spicy at all just greasy and the sesame chicken was just ok. Major let down will not order again :(
