Jani
Above average local Chinese restaurant. Food is good and service is average. Their Cantonese shrimp wonton soup with angel hair noodle is great as well as their spicy shredded beef dish. Their chicken wing was below average.
We ordered dinner because we were in the area and patronize the other Jani restaurants. The service was excellent and fast. The sesame chicken was on the gooey side. It had 2 small pieces of broccoli. The rice was not very flavorful but the soup was great. We ordered egg rolls and they were really delicious. We also ordered the lo main which was also ok. I can't say it was the best but it wasn't bad for the price.
Che Thai Restaurant
It’s decent food for the price. Fresh and enough flavour. I liked the Korean wings. I also had a lunch menu with drunken noodles. Considering it’s a starter+main+drink for under 15$ it was a good choice, but don’t expect a lot of protein, unfortunately not even many veggies. But it tasted good. My partner had orange chicken, it did have orange taste and was in the sweetest side, I am not a fan of sweet but not spicy (although he is) so I personally can’t say I would order it for myself.
The food was ok. I say that based on extensive time in Thailand mainly the Isarn region where I have an apartment. Ironically the high end Thai restaurants in town are not as good as this little place so while I give a 3 the expensive places called Thai that are more like Chinese, Issues are, they want westerners to eat there! Go figure. What will bring me back to Che Thai was the customer service from , TK, Tiki very sweet, kind and helpful, she brightened my day. Kop Khun Krup! .
En Lai Asian Grill
Went there after going to another local Chinese food place to find a spot with vegan options for the sauce and they had the options. The food was made fresh and came out relatively quickly. It seems like they haven’t transitioned back to in restaurant seating as the dining double for a staging room, but there were cups with chopsticks and utensils on each table. We took our food to go since I live in the neighborhood. We got the orange and general tsao’s tofu. I think one of those was not supposed to be spicy for my friends order, but there was definitely a bit more spicy than desired, but still tasty. They gave ample amounts of rice and there was a fair amount of broccoli in each dish. I would consider returning to try some of their other vegetarian options.
We order for pickup from En Lai a few times a month, and their food is always fantastic. My faves are their Orange Chicken, General Tso's, and their chicken with cashew nuts. They give us lots of rice, and the orders always have a ton of meat and veggies. Make sure to come hungry, because you will have a lot to eat!
Little Wok - Lakeview
Went with a friend for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant wasn't busy. We were seated quickly. The staff are friendly and helpful. Empty water glasses were refilled quickly. Sidewalk seating was nice. Menu has too much of too many styles. It's pricey for the quality of the food. We ordered crab rangoon, eggrolls, and General Tsao's chicken. The eggrolls were overcooked and greasy. The inside had a decent filling, though the flavor was too light. The crab rangoon are cream cheese wontons with diced onion. They are meagerly filled and without much flavor. The accompanying plum/duck sauce is also light in flavor. The general tsao's was crunchy, and the chicken was overcooked. The sauce quantity was too much. The chicken at the bottom of the bowl was soaking in sauce. It wasn't very spicy. The rice was dry. Probably won't return.
We really enjoyed the food and service! Grace at the bar was awesome and helped us make some good food choices! Best Thai and best Sushi restaurant in Lakeview!
Lao Sze Chuan
Gorgeous and fresh food, cozy dining room, great smells welcome you as soon as you enter the restaurant. The combination fried rice and three delights with three chilies entree were delicious. The restaurant is decorated richly and feels expensive but unfortunately the dining experience doesn’t match that. We dined on a Friday evening and they were extremely short staffed, literally one waitress running the whole dining room (which isn’t small) and the pickup orders (which was also a lot) and one other person bussing the dishes from and to the kitchen that was all. They basically had to run around to make it. The service was still not slow though, just out of breath and rushed. The menu is extensive with over a 100 items on it, it might be overwhelming for some, it comes as a takeout menu printed on thin paper and twice folded. We never received a drink menu, when we asked they said they had only beer, coke and ginger ale available. The vibes make you think they would have a full bar with a cocktail and wine menu 🤷♀️ Overall it felt like watching a movie with un-synced subtitles. I would come back here for the wonderful food and not expect anything more than low key vibes, which is fine.
I tried the tofu with sour chili pickle, the sesame tofu, and the green scallion pancake and both were amazing! The flavors and textures were gorgeous, the service attentive and the atmosphere felt welcoming and cozy. The server was especially kind to my 5 year old daughter and went out of their way to make it special which doesn't always happen when you being a rambunctious kid into a restaurant haha I found myself wanting to try a lot more of their menu!
H Noodle House 奶奶食堂
Went there for the first time for lunch today! I love the soup noodle, And the hand-make dumpling. China Town quality on Long Island! The see-through kitchen is bright and clean, giving customer extra confidence.
I ordered 3 different types of dumplings and scallion pancake as well(not pictured). It was my first time trying the szechuan beef and I fell in love. Absolutely delicious! This is the dish for you if you love spicy food. This place is going to be my go to Chinese restaurant in Jericho, NY!
Mei Hoo
I've ordered takeout several times. Food is great. The man who delivers is always extremely nice. Today, I chose pick up, instead of delivery, by mistake. When it wasn't there when expected, I checked my order, and saw that I checked pick up. I called, and explained. The man on the phone was more than helpful. He said he was leaving right then to deliver it. I so appreciate great customer service, and this was top notch! Thank you so much!
Ordered online and got confirmation text, waited in car 20 mins went in and they didn't have order. Woman was very nice but had to wait another 20 mins. Ordered large crab ragoon with order got to hotel and realized didn't receive it, instead was a large rice that I didn't order as my meal already came with white rice. So rice was thrown away and never got item I actually wanted. I understand stuff happens, they were nice, food was decent.
New China
I used to order from this restaurant, all the time, and a year ago they used to be really good. But lately the food is horrible, the rice is soggy, the chicken wings taste old, and the food just isn’t what it used to be. I don’t know if they switched cooks.
Thank you. Tastes good. There was many people ordering specifically by phone. From what I see, they try and work quick, as quick as they can. I have been patient and think it's worth it.
Mei Shung
Better than most lunch specials. Service was extremely quick and surprisingly a large amount of food. Egg drop soup was better than expected and the best egg roll I have had in the Chicago. Will def try lunch again and will return for dinner.
The staff alone makes this a good place to get food. They haven't returned to dine in since covid. That's the only bad thing I can say about this place.
Hop Woo BBQ & Seafood Restaurant (Chinatown)
It should be noted that my review is based off of an Uber eats review. First off the prices are more expensive on Uber eats as compared to just dining in so that played a part in my review. Overall I thought the flavor and quality was good. As compared to other Chinese restaurants I’ve tried it was about average which was not bad. We ordered chicken corn soup, basked fish, walnut shrimp, vegetable egg rolls, Mongolian beef, stir fry vegetables, fried rice, orange peel chicken, house special chow mein crispy noodle, and fried tofu with white rice on the side. It was for my family of seven and they were all satisfied and it fed us all. I think the fried tofu was my favorite and the walnut shrimp. The flavors were good and the quality was descent. Overall it was a good dinner to treat my loved ones to. I’d definitely order from this place again or try in dining for a better idea of how their food is. Next time I’ll try their other menu items in person.
Delicious a la carte. Chinese food. The staff greet you with such enthusiasm. The duck was delicious and vegetables are always delicious. The dish washer needs to be cleaned. The cups seem to be dingy.
New Kam Fong
Well not bad, but could be better We liked the size, but there’s no taste. My friend didn’t like chicken with noodles at all
Great American Chinese food have been coming here since I was a kid! Forgot how great and affordable this place is. I love there sesame chicken!!
Chinese Gourmet Express
I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a baby, so I might be a little biased. But this restaurant is the BEST. Their bourbon chicken never disappoints. It’s sweet, tangy, and delicious. Coupled with their sides of rice and beans, it is amazing. Also, the food is very cheap. One meal can cost only 11 dollars, and for the amount of food that comes with it, it’s a great deal. In addition, the lady who runs this restaurant is extremely nice. She recognizes me and my family every time we go, even saying my name. I love this woman. I love this restaurant. I really don’t understand the negative reviews, the restaurant is great.
My family has been going there since I was young. The people there are the absolute best! And their boneless ribs are a must.
