Hash
Stopped here for breakfast with a group of 10 people. The owner and staff were so kind and accommodating for our larger party. The food is incredibly delicious; everyone got different dishes and all were extremely happy. Their iced dirty chai latte was also great. Highly recommend if you are in need of a easy and quick bite in the area.
EVERYTHING about Hash is 5 star!! Husband & I visited a couple of weeks ago & we were very impressed. Food was delicious, service is quick & prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend the goat cheese & spinach omelet and the salad side completes the meal! Highly recommend you visit!
Tokyo Sushi
Personally wasn’t my favorite place. My boyfriend thought they were decent and prices were good. Service was okay overall. Things just seemed over cooked or spicy. I feel everyone should try for themselves but I could recommend definitely better places just further away.
Food are just okay. The sauce of the salad is so weird and the miso soup is really salty. Sushi was okay. The udon noodle soup tastes good! It wasn’t that crowded when we were there.
IPho
Cute little spot! The food was delicious! Unfortunately the service wasn't all that great. My family and I were seated very quickly and everyone is very very nice but once we got our food it was hard to ask the server for extra food or extra drinks. When we did ask it was either forgotten about or it took very long to get. Other than the service the food was excellent!!
I enjoy coming here often. Not only is the food amazing the service is friendly and the Atmosphere of the place is beautiful. They have a lovely array of flowers around their fenced area and the benches outside are protected by large umbrellas. If it gets a bit chilly they even have outside heaters. And by evening they have cute outdoor lights that warms up the atmosphere.
Pho Tibet
With the chilly weather outside, we crave comforting 'warm food,' and this restaurant has just what we need. Dishes Tried: - Beef Pho: Dive into this hearty bowl of goodness! The tender beef slices swim in an aromatic broth that dances with flavor, perfectly paired with velvety noodles. Every slurp is a comforting embrace! - Grilled Lemongrass Chicken: Prepare your taste buds for a treat! This chicken is marinated to perfection in fragrant lemongrass seasoning and grilled to achieve that irresistible smoky char. It's both delicious and utterly satisfying! - Pork Chop Pho: Get ready for a unique culinary experience! Succulent slices of pork chop add an exciting twist to the classic pho, beautifully complementing the savory broth and noodles in a harmony of flavors. Service: The staff here are simply wonderful—friendly and incredibly attentive, they elevate the dining experience to new heights! Atmosphere: Step into a delightful ambiance that’s as welcoming as a warm hug, making it the perfect backdrop for a casual meal with friends or family. Highly recommended for all Vietnamese food lovers! Don’t miss out on these incredible dishes!
I’ve really enjoyed pho Tibet special noodle! This unique blend of Thai and Tibetan flavors is something I’ve never tried before, and it’s absolutely delicious. The restaurant is spacious and the staff are super friendly. It’s definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s in the area!
Bangkok Cafe New Paltz
Came in for an early dinner at Bangkok Cafe. Sweet staff, feel like Thai grandmother vibes. The food came out quickly, hot and fresh ingredients. Medium was the perfect spice level for us. Everything tasted great, authentic flavor and rich vibrancy. My partner and I enjoyed this meal greatly. Feels like home with tasty food and reasonable prices! Each entry is roughly $15 which is amazing for Thai food prices.
We have been going to Bangkok Cafe for the better part of 10 years and have consistently had amazing food here! The owners are the sweetest, nicest people who bring an authentic air to the neighborhood. As someone who travels extensively, we are incredibly particular about where we go out & these guys are as good if not better than anywhere in NYC.
Garden House
I was disappointed by my experience at this limited halal Arabic restaurant. Our group of hikers had contacted the restaurant in advance to coordinate a dinner plan, and we were optimistic about our visit. However, the experience fell short of our expectations. Upon arrival, the owner greeted us while smoking a cigarette, showing a lack of courtesy, especially since we had children with us. The family-style mixed meat entree was served cold, and the lamb was rare, the kofta tasteless, and the chicken dry. Additionally, the portions were inadequate for the number of people in our group. We waited a long time for our salads, which seemed forgotten until we reminded the staff. There was also insufficient water for our group. To make matters worse, we were charged extra for items we did not order, and the owner was rude, claiming we needed to order more appetizers despite the already inadequate portions. Overall, I would recommend avoiding this restaurant. It did not provide the quality dining experience one would hope for from an Arabic establishment.
Hospitable staff serving delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Gorgeous décor, and in season the garden is open, allowing for Al fresco dining. No beers on draft but there are bottled beers. Clean bathroom. Unpaved parking in the rear. In October 2019 the Ulster County Libertarian Party convened here.
Harana Market
I visited Harana Market just after peak fall foliage, and I’m certain it would be a beautiful spot in any season, with its views overlooking Roundabout Creek. Dining here feels like you’re immersed in nature, which perfectly complements their exceptional Filipino cuisine. The three-stage cooked lechon kawali is among the best I’ve tasted, the bistek is outstanding, and the mango float cake is a must-try. I loved the food so much that I even ordered another lechon kawali to go—a testament to how delicious it is, especially considering I live near Woodside, Queens, the heart of Filipino food in metro New York. Though the staff isn’t all Filipino, they show a genuine appreciation for the cuisine, and I was impressed by their pronunciation of challenging Filipino words and their knowledge of each dish’s ingredients. This effort creates a true connection with the Filipino community in a what is a predominantly white area, bridging cultures in a respectful and authentic way. While some may find the prices a bit high, we’re in a post-COVID era where many things cost more. Beyond quality and taste, Harana Market offers a rare and much-needed glimpse into Filipino cuisine that’s worth every penny.
This place is so inviting and welcoming! The staff here are so friendly!!! The food is delicious! I love their take on Filipino cuisine. A bit pricey for sure but worth every bite! Definitely take a trip to try them out!
Cohen's Bakery
Our first visit, easily earned a 4.5 star. We’d heard of this place, so stopped by on a very rainy Friday at 12:30 for lunch. Three of us total, one who uses a walker, so we went in the side entrance rather than through the narrow main bakery which would have been impossible. The classic Reuben was great, others had a chicken sandwich which looked good too. Of course I came home with some raisin pumpernickel and a few pastry. This is the type of bakery everyone needs near their home (but sadly for us, it’s a 2+ hour drive, so we’ll just keep in mind for our next visit). Glad this current family bought the business AND the original recipes for everything. A great find!!
Got charged for an additional item I didn’t order. Receipts provided are vague, you don’t know what you paid for each item or what the pound price is. The biggest turn off is the “tip pressure” receipt. They give you a receipt with 4 boxes to choose from for various tipping levels. I had to hunt where to sign it, that area was at the top of the receipt. Who puts the total at the top? And when you are only bagging something out of the case for me to take to go, you actually think a tip is warranted? That’s your job, you are not special. I highly doubt that it’s still owned by anyone with the last name of Cohen anymore, that was obvious.
Aroma Thyme Bistro
Everything about this restaurant is remarkable! Marcus and Jaime know what a great meal entails! The porterhouse was amazing and you can tell Marcus cares about where all his food is sourced. The seasoning on that steak was out of this world! The smoked wings and fig bacon pizza were probably the best I have ever had in either food group. Thank you again for a great meal and great selection of spirits/wines!
Food was so good! We had the mushroom pizza and salmon entree as well as the mussels for appetizer. I would definitely come back again. I love that they have so many non alcoholic drink options. There is something for everyone here.
Miso
We drove a long way to find this restaurant. It was a very good experience for our first time dining there. The food was good and the service was even better. It's a pity that we don't live nearby. We will come again if we have the chance next time.
So we went with a group of six on a Wednesday night. The restaurant had a few tables with patrons. Service started out good ordered food and drinks. I noticed a pickup patron standing waiting after a 15 minutes was surprised same person didn’t look happy. So our soup comes out in about 20 minutes. From where we were sitting it was obvious that this is a popular place for take out. So after about 45 minutes some food comes out the sushi that was ordered. Of course my wife’s sesame chicken and I had a sushi roll with cucumber wrap didn’t come out and we asked what about the other entrees and the waitress said they were working on it and still peeling the cucumber. So the food was good just not the good to wait forever. I can understand busy but ignoring your customers is not cool with me. First and last visit for me.
Sportsman's Alamo Cantina
After a day of skiing at Belleayre, two families ventured to this restaurant for dinner—and what unfolded was a two-hour saga of bad food and even worse service. Let’s start with the ordering process. It took an eternity just to place an order. Then, the food trickled out about 50 minutes later, one plate at a time, in no discernible order. The final dish arrived more than 15 minutes after the first. As for accuracy? Nonexistent. Orders were completely wrong. Some were sent back, but hunger got the better of us—many of us just accepted the wrong dishes, dreading the thought of waiting even longer for a redo. The food itself set a low bar. The burgers were so burnt that they may as well have been hockey pucks. The salads were striaght out of a trader joe mixed greens bag. At least the quesadilla was okay. And then there was the attitude. The staff was shockingly rude. When we were finally ready to leave, we couldn’t even find anyone to take our payment. After enduring two hours of this ordeal, we brought our check to the front desk—only to be yelled at and told to return to our seats. Bottom line? If you’re looking for a story of culinary chaos to tell for years, this is your spot. Otherwise, steer clear—unless you want to redefine your expectations for bad dining experiences.
Wonderful place while visiting Phoenicia. The portions are huge and you have enough leftovers for the next day or two. The food itself is delicious. The tacos are the juiciest I’ve ever had. Feels slow cooked with lots of love. The beans are rice are delicious as well. The wings and salmon are ok, a bit over cooked but nonetheless ok. Would recommend :)
Tomo
Tomo is my go to restaurant. Food is always so fresh, sushi and sashimi here are another level. They also have nice selections of sake and beers. I enjoy the cocktails too.
This is the best sushi in Saugerties! And one of the better ones in Ulster county. It gets five stars in comparison to options in the area. Obviously it would not be five stars if we were talking about NYC.
