New Long Cheng
Why does this waste of space exist? There is plenty of space for new owners to revamp the space and add a buffet. The sad thing is many people order from here because they don't care about decent Chinese food, they just want fat, sugar, salt, and monosodium glutamate MSG.
Tight Space there were 12 people in basically a phone booth waiting to order or to pick up food. This is because they closed their dining room after the Pandemic. They have a whole Banquet Hall I've never saw in Use it's been closed for years and now there's a window you order from. GREAT FOOD though.
China Cafe
An excellent little restaurant. The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and the prices were very fair. They have an amazing lunch special where you can get a plate of food and a side soup for less than $10. It’s hard to find deals like that, especially these days, so if you’re in downtown Syracuse and you want to get lunch, you have to come here!
After I had already ordered and paid for my lunch, I stumbled upon the poor reviews on here and got nervous. I’m glad I stuck around! The lady at the register was very nice and my food was done within a few minutes. The portions were very generous - I got the sesame chicken lunch combo with the plumpest egg roll I’ve ever seen. I will frequent this place more often now.
P.F. Chang's
James frequently checked on our table, ensuring our drinks were always refilled and asking how everything was. Our food arrived quickly, and he anticipated our needs with great attentiveness.
This is a very over hyped restaurant. The food is average. There is nothing unique about it. It’s standard Chinese food served in a very nice atmosphere on nice dishes and with lovely staff at above average prices. Nothing to draw me back for a return. We had the lunch specials and found the rice poorly cooked as it was overly firm (either under cooked or not kept fresh). The chicken protein was a small portion and had no distinct flavour that correlates to how the dish is described in the menu. Soup was lack lister and should really be reformulated by head office as this was a let down. Spring roll was below average with minimal filling, oily, and oil smelled bad and the filling sauce was watered down (think) and once again lacked depth of flavour.
Hot Pot Lu Lu
the food was served steaming hot & the flavors were impeccable!! 11/10 rating 🙌🏽
I ordered the garlic flavor whole fish and wonton in chili oil. The service was great. The food was overall good but the fish was a bit too fishy.
Chang Jiang
Food wasn't bad but you don't eat Chinese food because it's a Michelin star restaurant. They were done fast and even called when I was on my way to make sure to put in garlic on one of the dishes. I got there and I payed and when I got home I was confused. There was entirely to much food for what I payed. 2 containers of white rice, pint of moo goo gi pan, and 4 extra pork egg rolls. That's on top of my $50 order which we never got the fried rice or the garlic chicken. I don't think we will return
This is the best Chinese in the area! I've tried many many dishes. The only thing I'd caution on is their lemon chicken. The chicken itself was delicious and well portioned, but it didn't come with lemon sauce. It was lime and even had a lime rind in it! So, I would definitely stay clear of that or make sure when ordering that it's definitely lemon and NOT lime! It was so bitter, I couldn't eat it, gross! It was like dunking your chicken into a margarita! Which surprised me, bc everything else is very very good! It's always fast, piping hot, orders are correct, nice ppl, etc.
Fortune Hawaii
Called in our takeout order. The woman that answered spoke kindly and she was also friendly in person. Everything was as ordered, hot, fresh and delicious! Would definitely recommend.
The food here has remained delicious for over 10 years. My husband and live in Bridgeport now, and choose this Chinese food over any other! Polite owners who remember a recurring customer!
Secret Garden
Slightly cold, bring a sweat shirt or sweater. Wait staff is very attentive and service is quick. They have a separate menu for Half-Priced sushi on Monday and Wednesday. I had the spicy shrimp and salmon roll, Ebi roll and Masago (smelt roe). I also had the Miso soup and I ginger ale. I highly recommend this place as it seems like I am in Japan having sushi...
I only go when it’s half off sushi and it’s really delicious especially the beef dumplings and firecracker roll. You’ll either wait 40 mins or 5 minutes for your food to come out but it’s worth it for the price. :)
China Pavilion
Great service: complimentary chips and sauce with tea Food: generous portion sizes overall. gluten free options! the pad thai was reminiscent of ketchup and had carrots in it. wasn’t exactly traditional but not bad. wish they could have cut the chicken chunks into smaller sizes. gluten free spring rolls were good and very crunchy. Atmosphere: average
I stopped for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this was ,how much food I received on lunch menu . It included tea, won ton chips with sweet dip, main dish ,rice and soup. I had to take a lot ho.e for another meal. I will definitely go back and the price was so reasonable.
Hometown Memory Szechuan Cuisine
Food tastes great with authentic Sichuan flavors. Dishes were spicy, flavorful, and enjoyable overall. However, prices felt a bit high considering the portions and quality. Service was okay but could definitely use some improvement. Still a solid place to visit occasionally if you’re craving good Sichuan cuisine.
The Fried Beef with Cumin was good...it cost about $19 and I will get about 1.5 meals out of this. The food was pretty good, but it didn't knock me off my socks. I'll definitely give this place another try, so I think four stars is fair.
Mr Noodle and Ms Dumpling 御宴
This was a nice place. The prices were reasonable. It appeared clean. Service was a little cold but professional. Interior was an odd mix of a 1980's Red Lobster meets Japanese Cherry Blossum Festival. Not sure what they were going for, but I wasn't feeling it. The server was professional and checked in on us regularly, but she seemed a little cold and detached if that makes sense. Not bad. Just not inviting or warm. The food was good, and the menu was huge and had some great options. I got the sweet and sour deep-fried pork pedals. They were okay if not a little tough and lacking in flavor. We got the beef and scallion pan cakes as an appetizer. Those were amazing! It's not a bad place. But not awesome, either. Some of the items on the menu looked intriguing, so we might try it again or not.
First time being here and it was pretty good service and good food. The food prices vary depending on what you get. My mom and I ordered the pork soup dumplings and Beef scallion pancakes. They were so good! Especially the pancake. Then had the seafood pineapple fried rice and fried sweet and sour pork in scoop. Both were so good! Especially the pork. It was so crunchy! Glad we tried this place.
Yang Di Chun BBQ
I’ve visited this place twice. While the food is decent, the service leaves much to be desired. When they get busy, it feels like customers are often ignored. That said, the food tastes great and is definitely worth a try. The cuisine originates from northern China, making it quite different from the more common southern or Fuzhounese-style Chinese food found in the U.S. If you’re here just for the food, this spot is worth a visit.
Outstanding experience. Food was absolutely delicious, many choices and styles to pick from, also not too spicy, the peach soju was a good addition to the meal as well. Lots to choose from and I will be going back again!
Red Chili Restaurant - Syracuse
Excellent Chinese restaurant. We ordered a bunch of plates, and everything was good. The cumin beef was very spicy, which is great. The dumplings are tasty. Good portion sizes, perfect for sharing. Very efficient service, we got our food in a blink of an eye. Funky decor. It was really cold outside so they needed space heaters everywhere.
The best authentic Chinese restaurant in Syracuse. We’ve been here at least 4 times and every time the food is excellent
