Black River Barn
We went here years ago and were not overwhelmed then. Today the dinner experience was quite similar. Restaurants that have massive menus, encompassing multiple cuisines, that attempt to appeal to a wide swath of Americans tend to be only mediocre on food taste and quality. Our meals today exemplifies this thought. Good (or at least acceptable), not great in any respect. Although waitstaff persons are doing their best to keep up, the service lacked throughout. The drinks were served after the main dish was served and only after prompting the waiter of our libation deficit. The final bill took over 20 minutes to appear at our table. Not acceptable. Not sure why so many people line up to go here. The one positive aspect was sitting on the outdoor patio right on the lake.
We hired out the back room for a professional trade event, and it was great! Very attentive service and a BBQ style buffet that made everyone happy š. 2 servers met each guest with a drink request just as the host committee showed. Great social. Would love to come back outside when warmer!
West Street Grill
My family and I dined here at the end of December and had a wonderful meal - not only was the quality of the food excellent, but the menu was well-rounded and easy to navigate with dietary restrictions. Owner James O'Shea and his staff were friendly and welcoming and take a great deal of pride in their establishment and ensuring a high-quality dining experience. Special thanks to James for his insights into the restaurant industry and for treating us to an incredible plant-based Chocolate Mousse!
Not sure why the good reviews for this place. Over priced and staff not friendly. Our waitress was friendly until we got our food and then never came to check on us. The person who brought our appetizer just kind of dropped it on our table with a disgusted look on his face. Tried to make small talk with the owner and he acted like he couldnāt bother. We got the Peasant Bread for the appetizer. It was overcooked on one side. Our entrees were the Black Angus Hamburger and the Freshly Made Cheese Ravioli. The hamburger was decent enough but the ravioli was a HUGE disappointment. Not sure what they mean by āfreshly madeā but it was like the frozen ravioli you can make at home. Seven pieces of ravioli with generic tomato sauce for $29 and you donāt even get bread with it. A coke was $6! This place is not worth your time or money. ***** I also just noticed that the owner only replies to good reviews on here. Does NOT address any review where someone doesnāt rave about them. This should tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about this place *****
@ the Corner
The food was very good. It was a little pricey. My wife had the Caesar salad with salmon for lunch and I had a Reuben sandwich. Everything was Ć la cart. I had sweet potato fries, and my wife had a basket of onion rings. We both had lemonades The wait staff was very friendly, and they all helped each other with our order which came out somewhat quick. Thanks for a great lunch.
A lunch meetup with a very good friend of mine who selected this restaurant. A great choice as the service was excellent and the food was fabulous. I chose a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. For a change, the chicken was not at all dry; it was still hot and moist. My friend had a basket of fries on the side and they were pretty awesome. Yes, I stole two or three. Flavorful, crispy and hot. Very pleasant here, would return.
Beach Tavern
Food was great our server Anthony was great and hustling to keep his tables happy! Great Waiter and service. A bit loud all around if you have sensitive ears but nice views. Will return.
We decided to grab dinner here last minute and we really enjoyed it! For appetizers my husband ordered New England clam chowder while I ordered the lobster bisque - both were very large portions with tons of fresh clams and lobster chunks. We also split the garlic steamed clams which were delicious. For entrees, I ordered the salmon while my husband ordered the steak frites; everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We finished off with both raspberry and mango sorbet for dessert. Our server was attentive and personable. There was also live music offering a great ambiance. We canāt wait to come back for another great experience!
Pho & Grill Vietnamese Restaurant
Delicious Pho place. Simple atmosphere with excellent service. An extensive selection of pho dishes. We had shrimp spring rolls and pho tai. Great choices as far as we are concerned. I asked for my meat to be on the side, so I can put it into the pho myself, this way I can control how rare it is.
This is my go to for authentic Spring Rolls & Vietnamese Pho, especially Ox Tail Pho (Pho Äuį»i Bį») with extra Ox Tail. Broth is flavorful without a trace of floating fat! On your way out donāt forget a couple of homemade Sesame Balls if they havenāt been sold out. Friendly owner and staff!
PolishPlate
The Polish Plate serves up pretty good Polish comfort food, and the āHeaven on a Bunā sandwich absolutely lives up to its nameāpure bliss in every bite. The pierogi? Usually on point! The owners are super friendly and accommodating, making you feel right at home. However, service can be a bit hit or miss if the owner isnāt the one taking orders, but the food more than makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit for some hearty, authentic eats!
Best Polish food up and down the east Coast. Stuffed cabbage is amazing , the taco and quesadilla are also a favorite. they have different varieties of pierogi from traditional polish pierogies to specialty pierogies like steak and cheese or apple filling.
Tan Wong Restaurant
Always on point for the working manās quick lunch. Foods is always fresh and staff is efficient.
Takeout Review: I've read good reviews and drive by this place all the time; I always say to myself, "I've got to try that place out." We finally ordered some takeout there recently. Ordering was easy, just a simple call; pickup was also quick and easy. The parking lot was spacious and so was the restaurant. I saw people dining in there. There was a fish tank and the person that helped me was friendly. Prices and portions were comparable to other Chinese spots. I ordered the orange chicken combo with fried rice, crab rangoons, plain lo mein for my toddlers, and my husband had the general tso combo. The crab rangoons were A+++ definitely up there with the best I've had; thin fried wonton wrapper and a larger amount of creamy, cheesey, imitation crab filling. The orange chicken was good, I'd say 4/5; not the best I've had but it did the job. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we would order there again.
Sweet Mango
11-25-24 On A Positive Note: Iāve dined here on two prior occasions. Today, I was seated at the bar. The bar is rather high for the seats. Nonetheless, my hibachi shrimp was tasty and well sauced. I didnāt need to use the mustard or the ginger sauce. The server was very attentive. She cleared my soup and salad bowls immediately after I finished each of them. However, she did not offer to refill my water. The Verdict: Great food and service. I deducted one star from the atmosphere due to the awkwardness of the bar height in comparison to the stool. Iām 5ā 7ā. I would dine here again- just not at the bar.š
This place has some of the best sushi in the state!! My favorite is the Paradise Roll, it is outstanding!!! I highly recommend this restaurant for incredible sushi!! I am a fan for life!!!! For dessert try the warm sweet rice and fresh mango!
Li's Place
Go here if you want food poisoning. We went here on our honeymoon and it was the worst decision of our life. We have no clue how it was rated 5 stars by so many people. The service was great we got our food in 7 min but should have known that there was a reason it was done that fast. I went in to use the restroom and it was dirtier then the worst convenient store restroom. There were holes in the ceiling and mold in the ceiling. The orange chicken was good but the teriyaki chicken is where the problem was. My wife is a Chef and said there was no way it was chicken, it tasted more like fish or a rodent. It looked the part too. Overall go here If you want nice Chinese people, overpriced food and food poising that leaves you sick for 5 days and unable to enjoy your life.
Online says dine in. We arrived and it's take out only. Can't enter to look at a menu. We're told to look at the menu online. Ordered 2 lomein and a couple other dishes. 3 of the 4 dishes were listed under 10.00 but the bill for the 4 was over 80. Lomein was bland, no flavor just wok fried noodles with little to no sauce and some meat
Taste of CHINA
First chinese place I've been to where the spring rolls are the size of normal egg rolls (obviously, this is a good thing). Extremely tasty, I burned my mouth on them, 10/10. The General Tso's tasted like soap. I realized that it was due to cilantro. Still tasted pretty good, so I'm not complaining too much. Definitely doesn't skimp out on the chicken like some places do. You're absolutely getting your money's worth.
I usually go to a different establishment, but I wanted to try something different. The food was terrible. The fried rice tasted burnt and the chicken was old. The only good part was the spring rolls. Never again.
United China 1
Delicious food and amazing service!! The combo dishes have really impressive portion sizes for the low price. I definitely recommend and will absolutely be back :)
I love Chinese food and since moving to central mass this has been my go to! Like the other recent review said, they are incredibly consistent in the quality of their food. I haven't yet ordered anything that was over or undercooked. My biggest issue is that when I order takeout, sometimes I have minor spills in the car because they stuff too much food in the boxes! š Not the worst problem to have. And during Christmas they gave out gifts! I received a bowl and a friend of mine received chocolate spoons. I'm not sure if it was because we're frequent customers or not, but it was very thoughtful.
Asian Garden
My wife and I recently moved to the area and have been so excited to have a new favorite place for take out! Every order weāve gotten has been great, ready on time, and reasonably priced. We have not eaten in the restaurant itself yet, but Iām sure we will sometime soon.
A hole in the wall from the outside, but clean and cozy on the inside. Hadnāt been in a while and was pleasantly surprised when we came back. They have giant bowls of Pho which was unexpected and delicious, Iāll be ordering it again when I have a cold! Everything we had was tasty, and they were very friendly. The menu taps into several different Asian cuisines. This will be our new go-to, I wish we had tried it again sooner!
