Sun Hing Lung
CASH ONLY. For the price, this is an excellent rice roll that is SUPER QUICK. No more waiting 40 minutes at any other location. The ladies working here will get your order in 3-5 minutes flat. I highly recommend the egg rice roll and add scallions. They also keep sauces outside that are all delicious: hoisin, peanut sauce, soy sauce, and sriracha. I personally just added all 4 and it was delicious. This is really great for the price and might now be my go to spot when I need this.
5 stars for 5 reasons 1. Best rice rolls! Fresh, warm and good texture! 2. Price is unparalleled! 2.5 for one rice roll! Can’t beat that! 3. Quick service 4. Nice folks and good service 5. Nice simplified menu easy to order
Jin Mei Dumpling
Amazing $5 deal for dumplings!! The service is super fast - they are ready to hand you your take out box of deliciousness. The dumplings taste great, and they have an “A” rating which I love.
I think this dumpling restaurant has one of the best deals around Chinatown. And I've been to a few of them in the area a handful of times. 15 dumplings for 5 dollars and they have sauces available to put on them which is great! The place is no frills like most of them but the food is tasty and cheap and it's hard to argue against that!
Asian Express
Food is perfect! Sesame Chicken is hit or miss at most Asian food places. This was a hit. Chicken and broccoli was spot on! Egg rolls and Crab Rangoons were great. No complaints here. I'm glad I found a new Asian food spot! Thanks Asian Express!
Idk how this place got 4 stars. I only went once. Today. Don't expect I'll be back. I ordered fried rice. Thought I'd play things safe. Got this weird yellow rice with no flavor & equally weird flavorless, chewy meat. This is not the place to get decent take out. It was cheap.
Joe Chan's Bistro
TLDR: good food, great service, not too expensive. The crab Rangoons are AMAZING!! Drinks need a little help, as does atmosphere, but those won’t keep me from leaving a 5 star review! My bf was excited to try this place as it had been years since he had gotten to experience the ✨magic✨ of Joe Chan that he remembered from his youth 🤣. We started with drinks: He ordered a Pink Cadillac (Tequila, Triple sec, Sour mix and Cranberry) and I ordered a vodka soda with a lime. They were so incredibly strong that we both made faces upon first sip 😵🤣. The lime in my drink couldn’t cut the vodka. Good on them for making strong drinks, but we enjoy a well-made cocktail, and we couldn’t stomach these ones. I then ordered the CHOCOLATE martini (Vodka, Baily's & Kahlua) hoping that the sweet nature of it and space it took on the specials menu would make it a better drink… not so much, unfortunately. I ended up ordering a soda water. Our server was super friendly and recognized that I wasn’t enjoying my drinks and took them off the bill without me asking for it or complaining- she just saw I wasn’t drinking them 🤣. The only reason I’m mentioning the quality of the drinks is that I think this place could be so much better with the right training for the bartending staff. We ordered the Crab Rangoons (Crispy wontons filled with a crab meat and cream cheese blend) and they were FANTASTIC- see photo to see how much crab you get inside- not your typical GFS product, at all! They served it with a duck sauce and a house mustard (if you like horseradish, definitely try it, and if not, steer away because holy cow, was it strong!). This appetizer was the highlight of my meal, for sure! We ordered a Wonton soup, which was delicious but holy cow was it A LOT! HUGE portion size, which is always nice. We took some home for later. We also ordered a Chan's Egg Roll (Hand rolled with pork, ham and shrimp and bean sprouts). I don’t eat meat as a pescatarian but he said it tasted as he remembered it- which is super good. 😎 For mains, we ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken (Hand Battered garnished with white onion, green pepper and pineapple, drizzled with house made Sweet & Sour sauce) which was thoroughly enjoyed, and just as he remembered from years ago. I ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp (Stir fried noodles with bean sprouts, carrots, red pepper, scallions and peanuts). It was good, but I didn’t read the description. It definitely was unlike any Pad Thai I’d ever had before, and had I not known it was named that, I wouldn’t have guessed that it was Pad Thai. Like I said, it was good- quite delicious, actually, but you can see from my pics that it’s not as the name suggests. I’d still order it again, but I’m writing about it to give a heads up! Overall, we really enjoyed the food here, as well as the fun conversation with our very attentive server. Granted, we were one of two tables there at 7 on a Sunday, but we appreciated the service. One thing I’d suggest is that the atmosphere could be greatly improved with some music. You can hear in the video I posted that there is sort of an awkward silence with dishes and silverware clashing in the kitchen, as well as full conversations (not muffled). Other than that, I’d say we really enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back! UPDATE: We came back and didn’t order drinks 🤣 but we did get the sweet and sour chicken again, as well as the shrimp lo mein and they were both delicious! Thanks for great service again! UPDATE!: we came back and ordered a drink and it was good! The pink Cadillac was tasty this time 😎 wet also got some orders odd the sweet and sour shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, and seafood Szechuan. Everyone enjoyed their meals a lot. I’m also updating my atmosphere score from a 3 to a 4 because although you could still hear everyone in the kitchen, the music was turned up in the dining room so it was better overall.
I’m a huge fan of veggie fried rice & Mongolian beef so I asked our server for her recommendation. She said she likes the veggie fried rice so I took her recommendation & got a large size so I could have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Oh. My. Goodness. I ended up ordering another small order because it’s so stinking delicious that I didn’t want to stop eating it! I did end up hitting the top of my stomach & still had leftovers so portion sizes are good. This is the best veggie fried rice I’ve ever had ♥️ highly recommended!! I will be back to try the Mongolian Beef… if I can get past ordering the veggie fried rice again!!
Uncle Ming's Kitchen
Don’t understand all of the bad reviews. Been ordering from here for years. It is slightly greasy but the food is great. The chicken is always crispy unlike other Chinese restaurants. And the price can’t be beat. Love the general tsos chicken combo.
Uncle Mings is your classic american chinese restaurant. It’s not going to blow you away like a place in NYC or in China. It gets the job done and they’re very good at what they do while staying affordable with great portion sizes. Me and all my friends go here often and recommend it to all who crave some asian cuisine. Location is unbeaten as well.
Fortune House
1. Taste I can say 4/5 .. quantity was full of plate but it went smooth into tummy 😄, it was less spicy to my taste bud. Overall okay 2. Price 5/5: it’s very lite on pocket considering the dining lunch. 3. Serves is good staff are quick and friendly 5/5
There is a 2 dollar charge if you want to dine in. I have never heard of a restaurant charging to just sit and eat. Also “atmosphere is the radio at 1 percent volume.
Ling Ling Kitchen
Also known as Ling Ling Kitchen. Solid Chinese take out spot. I got so lucky that this place is less than five minutes away from me! Great prices, big portions, and a no-contact ordering/delivery/pickup process. Who could ask for more these days? I usually order a shrimp lo mein and chicken and broccoli for pickup, and it's ready within 10 minutes. The first time I went to pick up, when I got there I was happy to see robust protection for the staff and customers in these crazy quarantine times. There's a plastic tarp and a pickup box so there is no contact the entire time. If you pay with card, you use a little slot in the tarp, and if you pay with cash you use the box to the side. Receipts and change also go through the box. The food itself was tasty, flavorful, tender, and exactly what you're looking for when you want Chinese take-out. Seriously -- the brown sauce hit the spot! The lo mein noodles were perfectly cooked, and even though I got the small size the shrimp to noodle ratio was very generous. The chicken and broccoli was also perfectly seasoned and a good size for the small. I only paid $15 for the food and two drinks! Check this place out if you want to satisfy your craving for Chinese takeout. It's worth it.
PSA to the whites and suburban blacks if a Chinese place has 3 stars, stop all activity and order its chow fun or sesame chicken I will go to bat for ling ling all day long, you wont find better tofu and chicken!!! Im giving this place 3 just to keep the rating that way so that those who know, know Notice how I gave the food five stars though front is also nice i love you ling ling
