Staten Island MR. BBQ
A small restaurant opened late night in the New Dorp area featuring some of the trendy bbq skewer dishes and noodles. A fraction of the price for what you may get in the city for a similar meal - though with some differences. We enjoyed our meal and, while it was nothing unique or special, I would come back here again for a late night, light dinner (this and bubble tea nearby would make for a great comfort food combo!). Two things I would note: (1) The food did not stay warm as long as I would have liked (some places will provide a little tea candle under the tray to keep the skewers warm), and (2) I wish the marinade or seasoning was more flavorful and integrated into the meat/vegetable. The one we enjoyed the most was the mushroom! The one thing we did not try was the noodles and hot pot. We came here for a late night snack around 9:30pm on a Saturday night and enjoyed our time here. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxing. It wasn't busy, but there was consistent traffic - both for dine in, deliveries and pick ups. Staff were not as attentive as we would have liked for water refills or additional orders of food. It seems like you may be able to order by yourself using a QR code but a staff had assisted us the first time around. We had trouble getting onto the free wifi and there was no signal inside, so we had difficulties trying out the QR code.
Mr. BBQ is new to the neighborhood. Great location, easy to find parking and the food is delicious. We ordered lots of skewers (steak, beef, chicken, squid tentacles, and others). They cooked it for you in the kitchen and cooked perfectly and tasty. We also got the dry hotpot and it's also very tasty. Definitely will return again. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy BBQ.
Wing & Burger 福翅堡
Came here for a quick bite the other day i got a chicken burger with melon boba. The service was quick and the chicken was crispy and came out nice and hot maybe a bit undercooked. The boba had a mellow taste and i really ed enjoyed it.
2022.12 spicy crispy chicken burger, super tender, just not spicy enough, could be a bit more spicy. Salt pepper Shishamo also good
Fresh Tortillas & Tacos
I don’t know who the reviewers are that said this is the best Mexican food in Staten Island, but that makes me not want to try any other Mexican food in Staten Island because this was beyond terrible. I ordered for delivery last night, we ordered a ground beef burrito, a chicken and cheese, quesadilla, and steak nachos without jalapeños. The nachos literally had barely any cheese on them no salt at all and just a pile of beans in one of the corners. I truly don’t understand how you make such bad nachos. They had no flavor, but we’re super greasy at the same time. By far the biggest waste of money, we barely touched them, Also, as soon as you pick up the two chips with cheese on them, it’s literally just dry unsalted chips under them. The quesadilla was mid, Not great, but was probably the best thing I got in the order so that’s why I gave them a second star. I didn’t personally try the burrito because my boyfriend ordered it and he is one of those people that will be happy with almost anything and he literally said this is by far the worst burrito I’ve had in years and it’s terrible. Based on that, I didn’t have the urge to try it. Definitely wouldn’t go back. Definitely save your money. Definitely don’t fall for the reviews that say it’s so amazing.
It's TexMex takeout that has been around for 20 plus years. Food is fresh. Prices are great. Tons of options.
Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle
Very affordable and delicious noodles. I’d recommend the golden soup with pork. This location has its own self service area with water and to go boxes. The atmosphere is also very nice.
It is not bad. The price is fairly reasonable for some savory rice noodles. The broth is flavorful and the noodles are bouncy. For a heads up, you have to order at the counter and get up to pour yourself a cup of water from a dispenser that takes a while to fill up. There is no need for tips so theres that. Overall, good yummy low budget place.
SIU KITCHEN (Hotpot)
This is a very casual and artistic small hot pot restaurant. The ingredients are very fresh, the environment is very beautiful and very suitable for afternoon tea time. The food is also very good, the coconut chicken is very fragrant, and the toilet is one of the cleanest I have ever seen. I highly recommend coming here with friends to enjoy time
My favorite go-to place! I have to admit that this is the best Chicken Soup/hot pot I’ve ever had. It’s coconut flavored and you can tell it’s authentic. The meat tastes very tender. They have plenty of choices for side dishes as well.
Precious Island Tea Shop
Came here with friends for dinner and we had a wonderful time. The location is nice with a parking lot to the side of it. The interior is nice and the staff are very attentive. The food that we ate was delicious and we're definitely coming back again and bringing family. Definitely come here as early as you can if you want DimSum as it does get crowded very quickly.
One of the best options for dim sum on Staten Island! There is on site parking and they have a great selection of dim sum! The restaurant is located on the first floor and is wheelchair friendly. They are checking vaccine cards at the door. They also do take out and delivery. Would totally come back again!
The Chinese Kitchen
It was one of the worst dining experiences you can ever have. I know it's New Year's Eve and you're getting slammed food didn't come out on time we had no silverware I ordered of soda we had no cups. At the end of dinner no fortune cookies no offer to purchase dessert. My bill was $450 you would think they would offer a fortune cookie and some fruit. Can't blame the waiter you was all alone. This is bad management.
The best spareribs in the five boroughs! Tons of meat on them, not skimpy. Best restaurant on the island. The food is always fresh and delicious, with large portions. Furthermore, the restaurant is clean, and Jackie the owner is very accommodating. Highly recommended!
Li's Happy Family
First time going there with a few people and the food was good.👍 The Dine in is a small like area with two or three tables. I ordered the lunch combo and pineapple. It was delicious for $14. I looked at their menu for other options and they might have a website. 😉 If you want to try some Chinese, come here if you like.👍
Li's Happy Family left my belly feeling more like Li's dysfunctional reunion.
