LN 1380

My first time trying dinner here. Not much people even though it's holiday night. The food is OK. 3 stars are fair to the dishes we ordered... Portion are big so if you don't fuss around taste of the food you will be fine to dine here😄 Please see pictures to show you some of dishes we ordered.... One thing I did not like is the seats are fixed sofa style (half circle). They look fancy but really uncomfortable. They are too soft and people site inside are difficult to get out ... This setting is quite unusual in Chinese restaurants! The staffs service was ok.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. It serve authentic Cantonese seafood dishes. I visit this restaurant monthly with family. The quality of food is always very good. This restaurant is established for years. Its menu listed classical dishes and some innovative ones. Highly recommended.

Little Dumpling

843reviews

Made a stop here heading out to Eastern L.I. Very glad we did 😊. The food is good and the dumplings are delicious. Each dish was cooked with pride. You can taste the quality & efforts in each bite. 👍👍 My favorite was the pan fried beef dumplings, shredded beef with peppers, and spicy shredded potatoes. Our group finished everything that was served on the table. Nothing was left to spare. The price is very reasonable. CASH ONLY

Absolutely incredible cuisine! We went at a busy time and the food still arrived quickly. The cumin lamb was super tender and the spicy peanut sauce over the wontons was to die for. I’m already looking forward to my next time eating at this restaurant!

Tasty Cow

69reviews

TLDR: Tasty Cow specializes in traditional Cantonese cuisine. Think lots of braised meats and a bit of offal cuts but familiar Cantonese flavors. The brisket is what they're known for along with the assorted meats. Don't leave without trying that brown sugar roast pork. A close friend put me on to this place, he comes here with his family. It's one of those hole in the wall places you wouldn't know about unless someone told you. My favorite here was the brown sugar roast pork. So interesting. It's sweet yet savory, fatty, they give you a slice of lime to eat it all together with. I don't generally like sweet/salty things but this was very good. The assorted meat platter is good but the tongue is my favorite. Last time I got the rice noodle rolls and beef brisket. If you like braised dishes, this is something you might want to check it out. For all you authenticity geeks out there, this is very authentic Cantonese cooking.

Came here with the fam, 4 adults 4 kids. We were originally just going to order our Individual noodle/rice but the waitress talked us into ordering separate dishes instead and sharing. It def cost more than we planned but it was ok because we got to try a lot of things we would’ve never gotten a chance to try. Everything was very tasty and the presentation was great. I just wish portion size can be slightly bigger. This is also a Guang Dong style cuisine so it’s very homey for me. They mentioned having a made to order roast duck but we will need to try that next time. Overall a great place if you’re feeling guangdong/cantonese cuisine specifically marinated beef goodness.

小頸 皇爺雞 Royal Rooster hotpot

91reviews

I love hot pot and couldn't to try! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was sat. I was served by a nice man. I had: House Special Coconut chicken combo Steamed egg with shrimp baby shrimp egg fried rice The food was good just needed a bit of salt. I really liked the house special with the ramen! All in all it was a good experience.

The place was nice and beautiful!! The food was off the hook but kinda small!!! The beef chow fun is off the hook!! Everything was off the hook but the the pork belly over preserve vegetable was all fat… also there was a waiter with orange hair that was standing a table over and was picking his ear and then touching his nose and then picking his skin off his nails WTH!?? and was serving us with no gloves on after!?!?

MARATHON CAFE

157reviews

I would give this restaurant 10/5 stars!! The fried pork chops and wings. The Lava toast is a must try! Everything we ordered tasted so delicious. 🤩🤩 Best HK style food in NYC.

This cafe was very comfortable and casual. The staff was so accommodating and pleasant. The food was served really quickly too despite our large party. The food was standard HK fare. Friend does not like the Bolo burger, but that might be a personal preference of not liking the sweet and the savory. The beef stew noodle was only okay. Definitely get their scallion chicken--juicy and flavorful and the soup that comes with it is really comforting. This was a favorite with the group. The HK Milk Tea is also on point as far as HK tea flavors go. There were a lot of options for drinks, but that HK tea hit the spot. The space is a bit small, so keep that in mind when coming with a large group. Most tables are 2-4 parties which rotated pretty quickly. Our group of 9 had to wait a while for one of the 3 large tables. We came in on the later half of lunch, around 1:30 and there was still a full house. After we got started eating, the place cleared out a bit and we were not rushed after sitting and chatting for almost 3 hours 😅. Would come back again.

Jian Restaurant (私房小厨)

166reviews

We came to Jian Chinese restaurant on September 1st first time visiting this restaurant, to try out for my daughter who just bought a house in the area. We ordered combination plate sweet and sour chicken and boneless spare ribs both with wonton soup. And an egg roll. The service was excellent, the restaurant very clean, the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for Chinese food. Plenty of parking , easy to get to off of the expressway. Everything was delicious.

My family has been dining at this restaurant ever since I was little so whenever I dine here it is nostalgic for me. The chef here actually specializes in fried fish (similar to English fish and chips) that has a delicious golden light batter. All their authentic Chinese dishes are really good too. I highly recommend coming here for quick take out or an authentic family style meal.

1480 HK Café

This new HK Café is a great new addition to the area! It has a ton of variety in both the drinks, entrees and desserts. The interior is so well decorated and very well maintained. I love the comfy booth seating but there’s also several tables as well. The staff is also very friendly and service was great throughout the entire meal. I got several of their items from the beef chow fun and baked Portuguese chicken with spaghetti to the Hong Kong style French toast and it was all delicious! All were very flavorful. I especially loved the sweets like the warm pineapple bun with butter which is a Hong Kong classic. The Hong Kong style French toast is a must get! Make sure to get the peanut butter one which has the contrast in textures from the addition of crushed peanuts. And add condensed milk to elevate it further! Also love the shrimp toast which is fried perfectly for the lovely exterior crunch and flavorful shrimp paste. Overall, a great restaurant with superb service and delicious food. I can’t wait to be back!

My relatives LOVED their food and HK style milk tea, while I found the dishes we ordered quite mediocre. Also beware of bad service: the servers spoke mandarin. My fam couldn't speak flawless and fluent mandarin. They looked very impatient when we ordered. They were annoyed when we asked for further details for the food. Bad service transported me straight back to HK. Not worth the long trip if you don't live in that area. The only good thing is their food was not as heavy or salty as other HK food spots. The interior is also pretty clean with restroom available. * Club Sandwich 公司三文治 Fresh ingredients like tomatoes and lettuce. Very salty spam meat. Fries were bland. * Chicken Fillet and Fried Egg Noodles 雞扒煎蛋出前一丁 *Baked Tomato Pork Chop Spaghetti 茄汁焗豬扒飯 Average. Small portion compared to Kong SIhk Tong and other HK cafes. Pork chop and chicken were tasty and skillfully pan-fried till crispy. * House Special Rice Rolls 混醬腸粉 Very bland and sticky. They were quite skimpy on the sauces. Don't order this. * HK Style Milk Tea 港式奶茶 * Mixed Coffee and Milk Tea 鴛鴦 Cute mugs for pictures. Rich tea flavor.
