Shanghai You Garden
Tried a couple of new dishes from my usual selections. I ordered the chicken pan fried noodles and wontons in chili oil. With my order came the half dozen soup dumplings, gratis. I was not a fan of the pan fried noodles. Being Cantonese I had different expectations. The gravy was too sweet and too much for the portion of noodles. The dish just didn’t work. The soup dumplings being free were an added bonus so no need to rate them. The real star were the wontons in chili oil. They came out piping hot and filled with a pork and vegetable filling. Spice wise I’d give them a 3 out of 10 so you people that can’t tolerate spice will be happy with this dish. Service wise, the servers are very attentive and checked up on me often. The decor is what one may expect but nicer. Give them a try, there are plenty of selections on their menu.
They don't accept cards.* A decent place to explore or enjoy Shanghaiese food. They have pretty wide selections for all kinds of traditional Shanghai snacks and dishes. Service is "okay". Most dishes are decent, some are not as good.
Tea Station - Bayside
If you want that cha chaan teng experience of HK, this is a excellent choice. I have been missing the HK and this is a good place to go if you want the same kinda food. They have updated most their menus to have English now, so it is much easier to order. Have patience with the owner as English is not his first language. Point and choose on the menu works wonders. Come in for some of their affordable breakfast sets. I am also a big fan of their steamed minced pork patty with salted fish or preserved vegetables for a classic Canto/HK dish for lunch or dinner. Will come back again for sure.
From a price-to-value perspective, this is the most affordable yet incredibly delicious restaurant in the USA. If you ask me for dish recommendations, I honestly couldn’t pick one—because I’ve tried them all, and every single one is amazing! I can’t get enough of this place and will definitely be coming back often. The vibe here takes me back to Hong Kong, and the uncle chef is so warm and friendly. Alright, I’ll stop writing now because I’m already planning my next visit!
Four Four South Village
Stumbled upon this restaurant for a weekday dinner it was fantastic! Good atmosphere, quick and attentive service, and delicious food! We got the pork baos, Dan Dan noodles, and of course the beef noodle soup that were all deliciously seasoned with very tender meat. Large portions for a great price, highly recommend and love having a piece of home right in Bayside!
While more and more options for Taiwanese food is popping up in the area, we are still in our search for the best, authentic Taiwanese food. Initially hesitant to try Four Four because we really wanted a mom and pop shop with some down dirty good food and not necessarily in a modern take restaurant - after reading about their Beef Noodle Soup being pretty popular - we went. Service was average. Waiter dropped off menus and came back to take our orders. Not particularly welcoming or warm, especially given that it’s a fairly new spot - we’d expect extra care in the first-impression department. Anyways - the complimentary hot tea hit the spot and was refilled timely. Beef Noodle Soup with Tendon 7/10 The soup base is the deeper red style. It was definitely a tad too sweet but it’s better than being too salty I guess. The meat and tendon portions were a bit on the smaller side. The beef was ok, not super tender. The tendon was as expected - gelatinous and yummy. The star of the dish, was infact the noodles themselves. The noodles were cooked perfectly, chewy and wheaty. I don’t believe they are handmade but in any case, great noodles. For the price of near $17 - we’d like to see better portions especially in the meat, and more broth. Not enough broth ratio. Noodles with Spicy Sauce & Beef 8/10 The noodles were the same as the soup dish - chewy and very nice. The beef on this dish is the thinly sliced shank variety and it was very good. Better than the chunks in the noodle soup. The spicy sauce is a mix of some chilies and oil and scallions and what I believe tastes like sacha sauce (a chinese barbecue sauce of sorts). Again, the overall dish was a tad too sweet and not very spicy at all. Given its name - we did expect a better spice profile. Portion on this dish was seemingly better for value. Lu Wei 6/10 Ala Carte or via an Assorted Mix Plate, these are various ingredients, braised in sauces and served cold. Very traditional to see Lu Wei as an everyday part of life in Taiwan, Four Four offers a limited selection such as hard boiled egg, braised tofu, kelp knots, pigs ears etc. The sauce was a mild soy sauce and overall - it was pretty standard. It’s akin to the culture of having ‘banchan’ or side dishes to accompany rice. For those who haven’t tried it - the Assorted Mix is a good intro though our favorite were the bouncy, chewy pig ears. Would we go back? Maybe, yes. For thew great noodles despite the soup broth, meat and sauces being a bit underwhelming. We’d love to see some improvements here!
Amy's Chinese Restaurant
My family has been coming here since I was a kid. They are so amazing, Cathy found out I had a gluten allergy and helped to modify dishes so that they were safe for me to order. I really appreciate how much they care about their customers. The food has always been amazing too! Always our go to take out spot!
Amy's is a lovely gem. Blink and you will miss it but for such a small place they turn out some very good American Chinese food. The staff is pleasant and efficient, the area is clean and they do have a sauce assortment available to patrons. (This may not seem like a big deal but I don't see it much anymore). The food was hot, generous and flavorful and most importantly not full of oil or grease. The egg rolls are crisp and not too salty. The vegetables were crisp and fresh along with a sauce I cannot express fully. Spicy but not overwhelming with a nice sweetness. I usually cannot finish an entire meal but Amy's was too good to pass up
Guh Sung Korean Style Chinese Restaurant
Always consistent in quality and service whether I take out, dine in or get delivery (even through other apps). Best Chinese Korean food in the area. My favorites are 조개짬뽕, 찹쌀탕수육, 간짜장 & 조개볶음 + 면. Good for groups as well since they have separate rooms to accommodate events.
Food was pretty good. Friendly staff. Restaurant was clean. Lunch set was only $13.99 or $14.99. Very good deal.
Jade Sea Restaurant
Update: stopped by today to pick up chicken & broccoli with fried rice combo. The portion was good and the meal was great. Some of the better fried rice in the area actually. Very flavorful. Came with a soup for less than $10 total. The house special fried rice was spot on; loaded with ingredients and the rice itself was cooked right. The egg roll was good too. I almost didn’t come here because of the reviews, but figured since there aren’t that many reviews to begin with I’ll give it a shot. Glad I did. This is takeout and delivery only, so anyone complaining about soggy sesame chicken or general tso’s should know that those saucy fried dishes rarely travel well. That being said, Jade should take that into consideration and give the sauce on the side. Oh yeah, and extra points for tossing in a fortune cookie. Not many places do that anymore.
I been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Just see for yourself… Fresh, delicious food the best around!
Bell Garden
This is the best Chinese takeout place in all of queens. You'd be insane if you went anywhere else. The General Tsos is crispy and on point. Exactly the way I remembered it being made back in the day. This place still has pride in the food they serve. FYI I stayed in to eat cause I wanted the general to to remain crispy. SHRIMP EGG FOO YONG also good. shrimp was tender and fresh. Sauce also yummy. Had with white rice. 09/2024 - had a honey walnut shrimp and it was awesome. Ate it there and was a perfect crisp.
We order for delivery one or two times a week and have been doing so for years. The food is great, the delivery is always timely and everyone is super polite. It’s a perfect experience all around.
HI HOT KITCHEN
👍🏻Crispy salt and pepper chicken: it was good and helped with my craving but, the batter could of been lighter and crispier. 👎🏻Hot and sour soup: had a really strange taste. It's a no for me. 👎🏻Chicken with eggplant sweet garlic sauce: this was really bad. Had way to much black vinegar. I opened the lid and my nostrils were filled with vinegar. I couldn't eat all my food and just ate the pork fried rice which was good. 👍🏻General tso chicken: the best item we got. I would come back to order this. It was perfect. Broccoli wasn't mushy, sauce was perfect. No complaints! 🌟Door to the kitchen was open so I was able to see inside the kitchen and it seemed pretty clean 💸3.5% additional charge if you use credit card so have cash in hand
Excellent take-out service. Quality ingredients. Best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time in this area. “A” grade for cleanliness. Fried dumplings and the House Special soup were delicious. Big pieces of tender chicken in the soup and Lo Mein.
B2J Tasty Pot Bayside 不二家酸菜鱼 Bayside
Large quantities and yummy food! We got 2 combos for two for 6 ppl and it was more than enough food. We got the classic spice with bean curd and king oyster mushrooms, chicken wings, and pork belly. We also got the tomato soup with fish and beef with lotus root and wide noodles plus milk custard and spicy noodles. Would come again!
Recently came because I wanted to try this fish soup for the first time. We got the combo for 2 with classic spice level with lotus root and enoki mushroom in it. It was amazing. Savory and sour- you just have to try it for yourself. We also got cucumber salad and fried pork belly as the sides. Fried pork belly was 10/10 but I would say the cucumber salad was very average. Atmosphere is great, food great However, service not the best. Took 10 minutes of constantly trying to get the server’s attention just for the check.
Noodle Box Fusion
Multiple different asian cuisines. Nice mix. Flavor good. Inexpensive. Excellent lunch specials. Casseroles. Fried green beans outstanding. Good service, small place, dark.
Grabbed dinner here with my mom and sister. The server was very thoughtful and nice. She helped us pick vegetarian options and made sure that there's no fish oil or octopus oil, etc, in the food we ordered. We loved Singapore Mei Fun and the Satay Tofu. The price range is reasonable. It's a small place, but the food packs a punch. I would go there again if I am in the area. Good luck, guys!
Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot 青蔬麻辣烫
I forgot to take a photo of the soup, but here’s a photo of the dry pot! In general, this place is good. I don’t think the flavors are memorable. The broth in the soup tasted like it came from a powder mix as opposed to actual bone broth. That being said. It was a very generous portion of food and it is a good deal for your dollar! I will likely go back to try other items, but I won’t repeat the soup order. Lastly, the fish that they claim is flounder is actually more like a bottom feeder cat fish flavor. It was too strong for the powder soup broth. I would suggest not ordering the “flounder” fish.
Great small hot pot shop. I was traveling solo, in the mood for hotpot. This place was perfect. Personal size hotpot. Pro tip - just walk up to the register, that’s where the menus are. The signs on the wall don’t have any prices. They’re pretty flexible with the menu, meaning if you want to mix and match it isn’t a problem.
Kungfu Hot Pot
I recently dined at here for its soft opening, and it was a fantastic experience! The hotpot ingredients were incredibly fresh, from the crisp vegetables to the high-quality meats and seafood. The presentation was beautifully done, with everything arranged neatly and appealingly. The service was another highlight—quick, efficient, and attentive without being intrusive. The staff ensured our table was well-stocked, and they were happy to accommodate any requests. Overall, is a great spot for a satisfying and visually pleasing hotpot experience. Highly recommended!
Came here for Thanksgiving with my family and have to say we really enjoyed this new hotpot restaurant! I am writing this for a promotion but I would still have given this 5 stars because the dining experience was one of the nicest I’ve had in a hotpot restaurant (and I’ve been to quite a few in the Flushing/Queens area). My parents are not vegan but my fiancé and I are and they were helpful in accommodating by making us vegan broths that were not on the menu. They had lots of great veggie, tofu, noodle, meat and seafood options to choose from their menu. Quality of the food was also excellent and they even made us a custom vegan sauce from the sauce bar.
