China Wok
It’s a hole in the wall. Place needs updating desperately, but the food was good. Not amazing, but 4 stars. No complaints. The service was ok. Not super friendly but not terrible. One star for the atmosphere, but 4 stars for the rest. We are visiting from out of town. My daughter wanted Chinese. She ordered the spicy chicken soup. Perfect for a cold day. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli combo platter. It comes with an egg roll. We also ordered the pork dumplings. We ate there. We had a lot of leftovers to take home. Parking was easy. There’s spots right in front of the restaurant.
I am in this area for work and was craving house fried rice, so I purchase a large. The young lady who answered the phone was nice and she gave me good direction on how to get there to the store. The store is located in a strip mall in the corner. Some questionable people were walking around, but they respected my space. Once inside, my order was ready and I asked if they put egg in their fried rice I was told no ( I like the egg in it). It was my fault for not asking when I ordered, that’s on me. The first and second spoonful of rice, I knew I was not going to like it. The rice was hard, like it been sitting out for a while mixed in with somewhat fresher rice. The shrimp was over cooked, I tossed it. This was so upsetting and I did not have time to take it back or call them. I’m confused about the other review stating that the food was good or the best when they mixed old sitting out rice with new rice and sold it like that. I gave them a one star because the ordering process went well, but I will NOT be ordering from them anymore.🤮
La Herradura
Ceviche was outstanding and so was the chicken soup! I forgot to take pics but I did take pics of the menu because they don't have any takeout menus or website lol so im tryna help this small biz out.

RameNesque
Came in for the first time and had good expectations. The food was mediocre and ordered the smoked pork was inedible because of how smokey it was. The smell was overpowering. The waitress did not come over once to see how the food was to even let her know about my meal and we sat for 25 minutes before i had to flag her down from sitting on her phone for the check. There was only two other guests in the restaurant. When she dropped the check she didnt ask why the plate had not been eaten or anything about the meal. Absolutely horrible service. Will never return and there are much better options in the area.
The newly renovated place has an excellent interior. I ordered miso ramen, yakisoba, and chicken, and everything tasted great! The staff were also very friendly. They also have a variety of Korean fusion dishes, so I’ll try those next time. I’ll definitely visit again!
El Alamo Restaurant
Fantastic all around ! Food, service, must go !!
The best Hispanic American food in Peekskill..! I always visit this restaurant.
G & H
The food was the most delicious Jamaican food I have ever had. The portions were big . Food were rightfully spicy and authentic. The lady in the front was very helpful and cheerful.
So I wanted to try a taste from home, unfortunately this was NOT IT. The oxtails were over cooked and had little flavor and the rice was also flavorless. They drowned everything with gravy and it was not a good idea… I would say it smell’s like my grandmothers house but definitely not taste good enough to come back. They give large portions but it’s just not a winner.
Whiskey River NY
I just had what may be the most solid chicken sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Let’s start with the chicken itself. Most places will Try to fool you by giving you an extra large piece of chicken that is cooked unevenly. These guys give you two Cutlets of chicken that are grilled to perfection. Let’s move onto the bacon. We’ve all been to those restaurants that give you the cheapest, lowest quality piece of bacon they can find. Not Whiskey River! The bacon is thick and meaty with the perfect amount of fat to give it flavor. I’m normally not a fan of pickles on the chicken sandwich, but it really works in this case. Now finally, the bread. The Bread is a wonderfully toasted bun. Nothing pretentious with a bunch of seeds on it, just a rock, solid bun the bartender, I think his name was David, was wonderfully attentive and always made sure my beer glass was full. They are definitely deserving of five stars!
Well, what to say about this place apart from Amazing. 1st time in America, so 1st bar in America and it was an instant hit, Nate made myself and my partner feel so welcome (as did some of the locals). The beer selection was brilliant, plenty of sports etc. Nate was a complete gentleman giving information on his drinks available, giving tasters and always having a smile. We have 6 nights in Peekskill and will be back nearly every day.
Oriental Palace
Pretty decent Chinese take out around the area. Service was good and quick. Taste pretty good. Price is. Reasonable. Portion a bit small.
Ordered Chicken Lo mein and a side of pork fried rice. The chicken Lo mein was good the guy at the register was nice too. But the rice was not edible, very hard and tasted bad. Prices are reasonable though.
Division Street Grill
Decided to take my little one on a "fancy" mommy and me date to dinner because I had a coupon from local flavor for Division street grill that was expiring. This was not my first visit as my son and I had done a couple sabbath afternoon lunches there about 6 years ago but haven't been back recently. It was as usual clean, the music just loud enough to enjoy but not overwhelming so you would not hear your dinner partner. I have always liked the art work displayed. I liked how welcoming the staff seemed to be and was timely with getting our food to us. We had some lentil soup as an appetizer, it was delicious but a bit salty. I ordered the Salmon with steamed veggies and jasmine rice, my daughter had chicken fingers and French fries. She had a couple bites and was soon done so did I. We took our food as leftovers to go. I enjoyed my meal, the veggies and rice were cooked perfectly but I fell in love with the semi sweet sauce of the salmon. It was delicious. I tried my daughter's chicken fingers I soon realized why she was not too enthusiastic. The batter, a bit overcooked and the chicken itself underneath had no flavor and was a bit rubbery. It's a shame because she had been given an adult size portion that we had to later toss. Overall it was a good experience, I would recommend this place to anyone. The prices are fair, atmosphere pleasant and employees pleasant. Enjoy.
Good atmosphere, very friendly staff. But the highlight (as it should be) was the food. Fried calamari for appetizer, perfectly done. I had braised short rib and the woman had rack of lamb, both very tender and delicious. Desserts were great too! Highly recommend this place for a nice dinner date. Only downside was the drinks were very small (cocktail and martini)
