Liki Asian Fusion Restaurant
my first time coming here and it won't be my last.this is a small place thats big in hospitality and delicious food. I had the jalapeno yellowtail and it was the best I've ever had.we also had the fried oyster crispy crust and moist and flavorful inside.everything my party ordered was delicious and to top it off the owner gave us a complimentary bottle of sake to take home.
First time at Liki and saw some good reviews so I had to give it a try. It’s a small cozy place in Amityville. The food was great from appetizer to dessert. Prices were very reasonable. Calamari was large and crispy. Salad was crunchy. The sushi was great. Tasted fresh and all the food was prompt. Highlight of the night was the orange chicken. Absolute best orange chicken I’ve ever had. And I love Asian cuisine. This is a great choice if your interested in sushi and or Asian cuisine. Will definitely be coming back!
Kwik Wok
I wish I saw Andrew’s review from late August earlier. Looks like the prior owners (Mary / Tony / David) “retired/sold” the business to another owner. It’s also very deceiving the new owners kept the name Kwik Wok without acknowledging it was under new ownership. As far as the new food goes, we ordered the following: - Chicken Lo Mein: Saucier and saltier than before - Large Chicken and String Beans: Smaller portion than before and there was barely any chicken - BBQ Spare Ribs: Mixed in old / re-barbecued spare ribs with a newer slab - Pork Pan Fried Dumplings: Couldn’t tell if that was pork or chicken or something else And yes, good luck placing an order over the phone. You may have to wait a while for someone to pick up.
KWIK WOK, can you please speak to the landlord to clean the snow of the sidewalk in front of your building in a timely manner each snowfall? Public safety issue! Thanks! 2/2/22 Almost a week later, still no snow removal-shocker! Bring a shovel to work and show your Merrick residents/customers that you care about public safety!
Zen's Chinese Food & Catering
This American Chinese restaurant has authentic dishes and great taste, making you feel like you are in a Chinese street food stall. The service is warm and thoughtful, and the environment is elegant and comfortable. It is a good place to satisfy your cravings and relax. highly recommended!
I ordered a beef chow mein and this is what came. I’ve eaten in many Chinese restaurants before and this is definitely not chow mein. There was mostly veggies and only a few pieces of beef. It came with white rice and I made a call to confirm if this is what I ordered. The response I got was this is chow mian. If you wanted to get the fried noodles you have to order chow fen. Like what? It was a mistake on their end and then it was my problem that I ordered the wrong thing? This is definitely not what I ordered and you should admit you mistakes instead of making others take the blame for you. There should have been a refund or redo because this is not my order and I’ve called to confirm.
Karusaki
Great sushi! Very high quality! Kind servers and the owner is the best!!!
Restaurant is actually Sushi Palace. Reviews, ratings and photos make it seem like it’s a higher end restaurant but instead it is very very casual. If you walk in expecting expensive, tasty sushi you will be disappointed. Prices are cheap but that is reflected in the quality of the food. Small drink menu as well. Will not come again but if you are looking to eat sushi in gym shorts and a t-shirt and not break the bank this place is great.
6 Elements Sushi-Asian Cuisine & Bar
LOVEEEE this place. So friendly, kind when you don’t know the dish and they explain . Best sushi so far in MERRICK .
Had a quick lunch there and the service was really quick, lol. In 2 minutes after I ordered, the salad is ready and it’s very fresh as well as tasty. There was a lot of seaweed in my miso soup. I especially loved the beef stir-fried udon, delicious and the beef is super tender and full of flavor. Highly recommended!
Sakura
I came here for dinner with my friends. Sakura Sushi is a popular all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant known for its fresh and flavorful sushi rolls, sashimi, appetizers, and desserts. It offers a wide variety of options with generous portions, making it a great choice for sushi lovers. We use the iPad to send the orders of what we wanted to eat. The casual and family-friendly ambiance features TVs for entertainment, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere suitable for small groups and families. Every sushi rolls tastes fresh. Their gyoza was so good that we ended up ordering more of it. And their fried ice cream with vanilla was great! It does get very packed at night, so highly recommend reservations. There's also free parking space.
What a nice place to go and eat good Asian cuisine!! Staff great, food great, I loved ! I'll be back for sure. All you can eat. My only mistake was to go alone. Lol
Danny's Chinese Kitchen - Bellmore
We ordered over the phone and told them multiple times I’m vegetarian and need my combination platter made with veggie rice and a spring roll. Moment I get to the car, we realize there is pork fried rice and shrimp in my spring roll. Immediately we went back inside around 8:40 (They close at “9”). We were told they are closed and can’t fix our food. Then they all bolted out and turned off the lights. Young girl wearing black was very rude even over the phone Update: gave me food poisoning 💀
It is so hard to find a good Chinese take out place on Long Island. I usually wait to get my fix in queens. I heard about this place & finally tried it today. I was pleasantly surprised. I can’t wait to go back. The hot and sour soup was delicious. I also got shrimp & broccoli with white rice. I have no complaints! Excellent lunch menu.
China Garden
Update: Came here and placed an order in person to take home lunch. The beef and broccoli I ordered with no broccoli (watched the man write it down) had more broccoli than beef. Beef/sauce was ok but not the best I ever had. Fried rice was fine but not much pork pieces. Egg roll was ok but quite soggy by the time I got home - I don't usually have this problem with Chinese take out or delivery - stays crispy so that was disappointing. I mentioned in my last review I was happy that they had the broad homemade looking crispy noodles. Today, I was given generic skinnier crispy noodles. I do not know if they switched or what but that was also a bummer. I did really like the general tsos chicken. Great sauce and much better portion than we got with the beef. I have an issue with some Chinese chicken dishes having woody/stringy or cartilage-y chicken that I find really off putting. This chicken was 90% to my liking I only had maybe two bites that were like that the rest was nice and tender so I was generally happy with it. Wonton soup the wontons are great the broth is flavorful but very salty and lacks those pork and scallion pieces in the broth you get at other place that I like. Preliminary review as I only popped in here for a snack of wonton soup but so far so good. I really enjoyed the broth and the wontons were delicious and plentiful in the size large to go container. Maybe could have used more of the pork and scallion garnish. It was a nice surprise to have a free bag of crispy noodles that were not the pathetic kind that most take out Chinese places give you (if at all). They were closer to the sit down Chinese restaurants that they put out on the table for dipping. While they were not quite as deep in flavor they were much more enjoyable. Service was fast and seemed friendly enough. Will be back to try other items.
Beautiful environment, delicious food
Wah Wah Kitchen Inc
Had the pork lo mien and fried rice lunch special. The lo mien and rice had a rich smoky flavor — really great. Too bad it’s in Amityville— I live on the North Fork.
I have been going here for food since I was a child. It has been around for that long and quality has never changed, even with the world always changing and prices rising for ingredients. They always remember me and treat me with respect just like they do every customer. I have never had an issue with my order, and it has never taken long to get either takeout or delivery, even during normal busy meal times.
Kam's Kitchen
While the food is good and comparable to other places, what sets this place above the rest is its lightning fast delivery time. It seemed as though the chef was cooking my order the same time the words were coming out of my mouth. Then, after hanging up, the delivery driver is already packed, loaded, and hitting the pedal to the metal. It had to be record speed delivery with fresh cooked food. This place should be called, Lightning Kitchen! Makes all the difference when you're hungry and don't want to wait an hour or more.
Excellent food. The best ribs around - the only ones my husband likes. Large shrimp in their shrimp rolls. Quality in everything they do. Highly recommend.
Chun Mei Restaurant
My favorite, go-to Chinese take-out restaurant in Massapequa. Tasty, delicious sesame chicken and fried rice. I would high recommend trying Chun Mei if you are in Massapequa and are craving Chinese food.
First time ordering. don't waste your money. I've never seen black meat pork spareribs looked like they were cooked and precooked a few times black as night and hard as rocks never again
Asian Moon Restaurant
Pretty awesome spot. This is a mix of Chinese, Thai and Japanese food. So I'll put this in the category of Asian food. The menu is both tight and has variations, they offer the best of what they do best so it all taste amazing. We had the shrimp shumi, Pad Thai and Sashmi, all worth it with beautiful presentation. The decor is on point, I love the low light setting and various unique seating arrangements. I felt like the theme was half the pleasure, the other half was the food. The staff was lovely, I wouldn't be posting if they weren't, and I felt like the bill was very reasonable for what we experienced.
I went to Asian Moon on 7/12 with my boyfriend. This place puts the 'experience' in dining EXPERIENCE. We decided to sit at the sushi bar and do Omakase. We were omakase virgins.. and if you wanna have a good first time, do it here ;-P. We had Sam the chef cooking for us. He was a knowledgeable professional but still fun and lighthearted. We started with a pureed fish with caviar served with toast and seafood ceviche as appetizers. It wasn't all completely my taste but that is bound to happen with some dishes during omasake.. a risk you will have to take. In between dishes, he gave us shots.. one of which was Yamazaki and he told us the fun history of the pricey whiskey. Drinking and history lesson? Yes please! Then we moved on to the main show, the sushi. He brings out his big wooden box of seafood and cuts your pieces fresh off. He gave us fatty toro, tuna, the works. He explains where the fish is primarily found, how much it's sold for, how it's prepared, how to eat it, etc. Most pieces were raw, others were given a singe to draw the fat out. It was a show as much as it was a meal. Everything exquisite. It seems weird to say the fish melted in my mouth, but it DID, in the best way possible. He really lets the freshness of the fish speak for itself and adds only a touch of freshly prepared wasabi, soy sauce or sea urchin. He lets you have soy sauce on the table but warns you not to overuse. I usually completely bathe my sushi in soy sauce (don't judge me, that's how I like it) but for these guys, there's no need or even desire to do so. We finished off with wagyu steak.. seared just a bit on one side and even less on the other side, cradled in seaweed and topped with sea urchin. Tasted like a crazy upscale Philly cheese steak!! Sounds a bit odd, but totally awesome. I would go if I were you. My boyfriend and I agreed we felt like Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation. We both felt mentally transported. Go, do yourself a favor and just go.
