Peking House
I had a mixed experience with this restaurant. The food was tasty, I ordered the lunch special bbq spare ribs combo (soup and fried rice w boneless ribs). The wonton soup was good but not great. The rice was good if a little oily. The boneless ribs were very good. I feel that they did not give a fair amount of boneless ribs, the ratio was about 90% rice to 10% ribs which is not a good value in my opinion. The wontons in the soup were also in the small side compared to other restaurants. What irked me the most is that the restaurant was filthy and in disrepair which doesn't bode well for the cleanliness of the kitchen itself. The walls badly needed repairs and a paint job. There was literal filth built up in a corner under the counter (the mop ends at that spot and nobody cleans the buildup that goes up the wall). There was a layer of dust on the top edge of a display sign, etc. It would only take 2 days max to fully clean and paint that area (the front area where people wait for their food). The neglect makes me think twice about returning because if they don't care about cleaning the front where people can see, how bad is the kitchen area where nobody can see?
Great food, they’ve been here probably 35 years. Tasty, generous portions, excellent value. This place is kept clean, but could use a facelift. Forget about dining here, seating room for 4. If you’re looking for top notch takeout, this is the place!
