I don’t know what the other people are saying, but the service here is top notch. The husband and wife who own and run this place are exceptionally kind and wonderful people. Food’s great too. The place has a warm, inviting, and calm ambience to it too, so I imagine eating in here would be nice.
Nasty as if you were begging for food... Two years later after my initial review which h is above, that lady is still rude and nasty. I'm not begging for food. She got upset because my order was ready and I was watching a movie on my headphones and I couldn't hear her so she had to walk 5 steps to get my attention. Threw my can of soda on the counter and then let it drop on the bag, asked for a different one because when I was going to open it it was obviously going to spill. The food might be good but when you treat your customers like trash it makes you not want to eat it at all. Nothing has changed in two years.
Ruan New Star
Totally disagree with 2star review. Yes, name and ownership may have changed and prices have gone up a little, where haven’t they? Love the atmosphere. Feels like I’m going back in time with the clientele. Most of wait staff is the same .Food is still delicious, portions are plenty. Always walk out with a doggie bag. Rated 4 stars only because No place is perfect. And there’s always room for improvement in any rating system.
For 2020, new owners and new name of the former China New Star. New people and staff and food has changed, ordinary. Portion's smaller, prices and packaging also changed. Old sign remains but look at your receipt, prices up and additional new charges. Food bland and with very little sauce. Shame!
LOTUS ASIAN FUSION RESTAURANT
The restaurant is located in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn near the Kings Plaza shopping mall. They prepare Chinese cuisine and is basically a takeout with several tables for dining in. I ordered the shrimp/pork wonton soup. The wontons are small and the soup broth consists of cabbage instead of the usual bok choy. The egg rolls and dumplings were good. The shrimp and lobster sauce consisted of a nice thick egg-based sauce with small shrimps. Peas and carrots were in the sauce. The pan-fried noodles with chicken were separated. The pan-fried noodles were fresh and crunchy. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The pad see ew had a nice chewy noodle texture with a balanced sweet soy sauce mixture along with the pad Thai which had an extra crunchy peanut topping. The crispy beef had a delightful crispy outside while maintaining its soft inside.
China New Star
This place was FANTASTIC. I was looking for a good old school traditional Chinese Resturant and came across this place. It was a clean modern decor but everything else about it reminded me of going for Chinese food with my mom as a child. The tables had table cloths, we were served hot tea, came with noodles, duck sauce and mustard. The General Tso's Chicken and Shrimp with Lobster sauce were both incredibly delicious. I will be going again.
I haven't been to a old school Chinese restaurant in such a long time. Maybe over 20 years. I passed this place probably about 50 times in the last 20 years and I got to say this place has some really good Chinese food. I mean really good. I didn't take any any photos but that's my bad cuz I was so hungry. Let me tell you the beef and broccoli was off the hook The boneless pork spare ribs very tasty Free ice cream. Great wonton soup and egg roll. A little pricey but you pay for what you get quality
East Garden
Small shrimp fried rice and 6 chicken wings... 18.50 ripped off Thought that this would be something fulfilling but definitely wrong. Shrimp Fried rice is just fried rice and bean sprouts and onion with shrimp. Okay flavor like a 6/10 The wings they are pretty good 8/10 Was told a small SFR is 7$ and 6 chicken wings is 11.50 But a plain 4pc is 6.25.. I'll take the loss to show people the truth. Business might be slow, but don't take advantage of those who support you. Truthfully, yall lost a long-time customer, I'm been coming here for 10 years, I guess it stops now. 👋🏿
Best tasting Chinese food I've ever had. But they rob you on the food. I paid $22 for a large dish of mongolian beef. $2 extra beef, $2 extra broccoli. I counted about 5 - 6 pieces of beef and the rest was all onion. I understand the beef is expensive, and I'm ok with paying for more. But I'm not ok with paying for more and not receiving what I paid for. Look at this picture and tell me if you think it's worth $22. When I called about this, they were very defensive and shifted the blame to me. I was given very nasty service and attitude, with no real resolution other than "next time you ask no onion".
Ju Feng Chinese Restaurant
Ju Feng Layout/atmosphere *Three tables; cash only Food/drink *Chicken & Broccoli (with white rice) - good; really pack in the rice
I often do takeout here and I love the food. It’s the best Chinese spot in south Brooklyn. The delivery person is always so polite and friendly.
Mandarin House
One of my favorite Chinese takeout. Always very friendly and consistently good, never had a bad experience. Also, they are very clean, they clean the shrimp well if you know what I mean lol Their homemade ducksauce is my favorite!
Really disappointed in the service I received today. After be a customer for over 20+ years I’ve decided that I will no longer support this establishment. I’ve order what I normally ordered including the sauces that I get. And was told I had to. Pay $2 for additional packets. I never hear of this, was ever told this, nor is it displayed or advertised anywhere. The usual guy comes back from a delivery and tells me unbeknownst to me that for years they have been charging me a $1 and while that’s not the problem because it’s never about the money. I’ve happy supported always tipped my delivery person etc. It’s the priniciple of being charged a fee and it not being disclosed until I came in today.
Grand Wok
Ordered a shrimp Chow Mein but the dish only had vegetables and shrimp. No noodles what so ever. When we called to ask they said this is how it is made. Waste of money and liars. How can a noodle dish NOT have any noodles. My guess is that they are too lazy to redo it because of their mistake. Stay away from this place!!!
This is the only restaurant that has never messed up an order. It’s actually kind of amazing. I wish for slightly better boneless ribs but everything else has always been fresh and delicious.
