Steam
Steam has become my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area, much better than O’ mandarine (Hartsdale) or Peter Chang (Stamford). Don’t let the mediocre rating fool you. They unfortunately inherited the bad reviews from the previous owner, but the new owner that took over in 2023 has brought Steam to the next level. The food is absolutely delicious and, more importantly, authentic. Ask for their weekly specials if you go on Fri/Sat/Sun. They don’t really advertise for these weekly specials because they only have very limited supply, but they taste even better! The only downside the tiny space they have, it’s not always easy to dine in.
Take out order arrived a bit ago. I am in HEAVEN! I didn’t know fresh healthy Chinese food existed any more. Other places I have tried have been so heavy and greasy. Not here! Amazing wonton soup with delicate noodles and a hint of lemongrass (I think I detected) and the broth is natural and delicious! The black pepper chicken is loaded with thinly sliced, tender chicken breast. Just enough sauce. Delicious sweet bell peppers and asparagus. Mango bubble tea perfectly sweetened with a very natural mango flavor. Mark my words, I’ll be craving this food until the next time!
Ollie’s 99
The Avocado sandwich is AMAZING, crispy crust, warm bread, fresh arugula and oozing cheese! Calzone is SO tasty, and the appetizers are delicious! These are the only two pictures I managed to get before everything is inhaled. LOL.
Ollie’s 99 pizza was surprisingly good. This pizza was tasty, full of flavor. The pizzas really such great quality, There are some unique pizzas offered and they are thin crust which I love. Their pizza toppings are a great combination of Italian and Asian cuisine. First time eating very delicious Anchovy pizza. I also really like the sesame chicken pizza. This restaurant is a great stop for eat and drink cocktails to cola to pizza. The service is always reliable and friendly. I would definitely recommend.
Sushi Soba
These sushi were fantastic! The salmon and avocado were exceptionally fresh and flavorful. The shrimp tempura was very crispy and with the eel sauce, it was especially satisfying. The presentation was also beautiful and I'll be back next time!
We ordered the chicken pad thai, Asian lomein and bean noodles. All were excellent.
George Italian Seafood & Steakhouse
Made a reservation for two for my fiancé’s birthday dinner. Since it was a Monday, the place was pretty quiet so we were able to choose where to sit. The ambiance is that of a typical Italian restaurant. It’s pretty spacious and even has a downstairs event space. The service was great, since there weren’t many other patrons we got attended to pretty quickly and the food came out in a timely manner. They bring you bread to start. We ordered the clams and ahi tuna tartar for appetizers, which was so good. For the main, we got the salmon and steak with a side of whipped potatoes. The salmon was was a 10/10 as was the broccoli and potatoes. The skin was very crispy and the salmon was cooked to my liking of well done. The steak was ordered medium, however it came out more as medium well, but it was still delicious and a great portion too. We honestly were too full for dessert but our waitress surprised us with a cheesecake as she had asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. It was a sweet gesture and much appreciated by us. The cheesecake was sooo good, sadly I didn’t get a picture of it but it had hints of coconut. Overall, this place really deserves the high reviews as their food and service are worth it.
Our experience was lovely from start to finish. Our waiter Gustavo could not have been more attentive. From the bread to the dessert we enjoyed every morsel. The owner Vicky was charming and pleasant along with her husband. We are already planning our next visit. Located in the heart of Byram, CT with a short walk over the bridge and border into Port Chester, NY the location is wonderful with easy access to a wonderful after dinner stroll along the waterfront. Would definitely recommend.
Canoe
We made a reservation for our anniversary. The service was warm and attentive for the entire experience. Great selection for dinner and drinks. The lobster shooters were incredible as well as everything else. We both finished saying it may have been the best meal we’ve ever had. Great spot, we will definitely be back!
I had brunch at Canoa with two friends today and we had a wonderful experience! Food was amazing (especially the pecking duck tacos and the 3 chocolates mousse!) and the waiter was super nice! Thank you, we’ll come back soon!:)
Happy Monkey by Jean-Georges
Love the atmosphere it was really quaint. And Christian was a great server. I even forgot the choros when I left and he ran after me to give me my plate to go. The ambiance is comfortable and casual. I had the fried fish taco. It was good but the cabbage on top was kind of tart but the espresso martini was good! Really like this place.
We came here for an early dinner in late summer. The chef's special of chicken and taco starters were excellent as was the arroz pollo and fried calamari. The ambiance of a Latin restaurant (Cuban sandwich looked interesting for lunch... unfortunately not for dinner) is interesting and hopefully will continue its successful run so far. The restaurant was fairly empty in the early evening but appeared to be filling up as we left. Consider coming here the food and waitstaff are great... you won't be disappointed!
The Cos Cobber
Can't beat the place for its location. The restaurant is a one minute walk from the Strickland Road Historical District and also a mere one minute walk to the Sachem Nature Preserve. Noticed that our fellow guests were all regulars who were warmly greeted by the staff. There is ample outdoor seating. We had the crab cakes with sweet potato fries and the Cos Cobber salad. The crab cakes were just OK(hardly any crab meat), but the sweet potato fries were quite good. Didn't take any pictures of the food except for the iced tea and lemonade.
Their lunch specials prepared by chefs Alex are culinary delights! Great low key atmosphere and simply great service!
The J House Greenwich
Nice hotel with modern amenities. Very clean as well and a welcoming staff. The only disappointing thing was the breakfast. For spending about $400 for a night (after taxes + fees), it was very underwhelming. Stale granola, selection of small pastries... would think they would have provided a little more for the price of the room. Otherwise, would recommend!
Haven't even checked out yet but wanted to leave this review. This place is a find. We had some business in Stamford but didn't want to stay in town so tried here. The hotel is beautiful. Apparently there is really no limit to how nice you can make an old Howard Johnsons. The rooms are super comfortable, especially the beds. I had a room closest to the highway so I could hear some traffic but it isn't bad at all. The high-tech stuff in the rooms was actually nice and not complicated. I was worried that this place might be trying a little too hard from reading reviews but that isn't the case at all. And what I didn't expect was for Tony's to be such a great restaurant. This is legit good Italian food and the outdoor terrace is a great garden setting. We got back from work late last night and the kitchen had closed but Tony himself (great guy) went back to the kitchen and pulled a few things together for us. Overall great experience here.
Little Thai Kitchen
Great Reception, service, food, atmosphere. Authentic taste of the food. We had vegetarian lunch special- spring rolls, thai salad, pad thai and grwen curey. Loved each ordered items and their sauces were delicious. Would definitely recommend.
I recently dined at Little Thai Kitchen and enjoyed a variety of dishes: dumplings, Pad Thai beef, Tom Yum soup, and sunken noodles with shrimp. The lunch special offered a reasonable price for the quality. The space is small but cute and very clean. The server was friendly, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. The dumplings were a highlight—delicious and well-prepared. The Tom Yum soup was a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. Overall, the food was tasty and satisfying. A great spot for a quick and enjoyable meal!
Thai Basil (New Management)
Road trip from Philly, and already planning on how to get back here again. Oh my goodness what luck we found this gem! Best food, best flavors, best everything!! Me and my boyfriend aggressively pointed at it as we ate kind of good. They now have alcohol and the Thai beer was sooooo refreshing. Would definitely recommend the red curry with tofu. Yum!
Seriously the most unreal food. The BEST curry and drunken noodle I've ever had from anywhere. The customer service is 12/10, the music and atmosphere is so calm and serene and the interior design is beautiful. Perfectly situated on the bottom of the avenue. This is our new go to spot for authentic Thai cuisine 1000000%
MŌLÌ
Beautiful space, excellent service, and overall very good food. Some highlights include the eggplant, Kung pao, shrimp, both soup dumplings. The negative was the sweet and spicy soup.
MŌLÌ has become one of my favorite new restaurants in Greenwich. From its convenient location, elegant decor and amazing dishes - this place has it all. As you enter, you’re brought to a small foyer right before you see the bar and main dining room. Broken up by two floors, dark wood and exposed brick is found throughout with tall chandeliers reflecting all types of light. As you walk to your table you’ll see whole duck coming out of the kitchen, savory drink options and tons of small plates. The restaurant discloses the offerings are family style which can work for a small group. If you’re looking for bigger portions, I recommend ordering entrees to make sure you’re fully satisfied. The menu is broken up into two main sections. Dim sum or hot appetizers and cold appetizers. Below that you’ll find entrees, noodles and sides. Drinks are separate. Pictured are the French Maid, Oolong Too Long, Wagyu Satay, Soy Garlic Ribs, Miatake Mushrooms, Charred Seaweed Scallops, Truffle Dumplings, Lobster Dumplings, Second order of Miatake Mushrooms (they were that good, ask for the peanut sauce), Filet Mignon, Lobster, Beef Chow Fun, Rainbow Dumplings, Espresso Martini, Donuts & Gelato. All things considered, the stars of the show were the dim sum options and the entrees. While splitting across our party, everyone had enough food and it was all delicious. For dessert, we all loved the Jasmine infused gelato. A perfect touch to end the meal when paired with the donuts that were light and crispy. The service was also great as our server was attentive and always checked on us throughout the meal. Sitting upstairs gave a birds eye view of the main floor which was a nice touch. Come celebrate the holidays here or a special event. You won’t be disappointed!
Panda Pavilion
It was a great dining experience. Both the Japanese and Chinese food did not disappoint me, they were perfect, and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. The dining environment was quiet, and the waiters were so friendly and patient.
The sushi was VERY good. Would come back for that! We enjoyed the boneless spare ribs and the noodles. Not so much the rice. It had that boar taint pork smell to it. Sometimes that happens and there's nothing you can do about it however, we didn't like it.
