Szechuan House
Folks. This is your go-to place if you’re looking for a good Szechuan place in the area. Tbh I don’t have high expectation for Szechuan restaurants in American suburbs where most of the population is not East Asian or otherwise not familiar with spicy foods. This place is so so good!!! Every dish I tried so far was so tasty and rich in flavor. - Bear in mind that dinner entrees do not come with any sides (rice or soup). -Lunch has smaller portions but still enough for one person. - The staff are very friendly. I always feel welcomed. - The hall is very small and is mainly for takeouts I think.
My family and I were in the mood for takeout as we were discussing the Szechuan house came up in discussion but neither of us had tried it yet. So we decided to give it a go! The menu was fairly easy to understand, although I feel like if every food item had a picture ( some did on grubhub) it would be easier to understand what is what! The gentleman over the phone was so pleasant and made the ordering process efficient! I went and picked up the food with no problem at all, the place was very tidy and nice on the inside. I brought the food home and we were BLOWN away, the food was incredible and the portion sizes were perfect! Everyone loved their food and was equally impressed. We definitely will be going back and having them again. Pictured below The Yan Chow Fried rice: DELISH! It had a little bit of everything in it from mini shrimp, to actual egg, chicken, and vegetables. Singapore mei fun; my father in law had this and thoroughly enjoyed it! General Tao’s chicken: this was my dish and it was so so good! It wasn’t overly spicy and the sauce was yummy as well. The best part was the chicken was actually flavorful and moist! Not like your typical Chinese food chicken which is often dry. The breading was also not super thick which is a major bonus Shredded chicken in black bean sauce: my brother had this and liked it as well! Kung pao Chicken: my mother in law had this and she said it was probably one of the better dishes of kung pao chicken she had! She absolutely loved it! Dry peppers chicken: this one we were going back and forth ordering because we weren’t sure what it was going to be but we are so glad we ordered it! The chicken kind of reminded me of popcorn chicken but lighter and spicer, definitely ordering again! Doubled cooked pork: my husband had this dish and he loved every aspect of this dish, between the pork and everything else in the dish! He was thrilled with his food. Last but not least, the wonton in chili oil! This was amazing!! One would think that chili oil would be spicy but not at all! The sauce almost had a slight smoky sweet taste to it which was amazing! The wrapper also of the wontons was light which is different from your usual wontons! Everyone loved this as well! Overall we loved this place and will order again! My only small suggestion is to have explanations in English under what everything is and what it has!
Precious Chinese Cuisine
Great dining experience. I've gone here for many years and always order the Happy Family. I've never had a problem here. Food is delicious and I recommend taking out or dining in, there's enough seating inside. There is plenty of parking in the back and a couple of spaces along the side of the building, plus handicapped parking spots. Bathrooms are very clean.
The best tasting Chinese food, and my favorite Chinese restaurant in the greater Huntington area - bar none. If I'm taking out Chinese - I'll go 30 minutes out of my way to get it from here. The menu is imaginative and has dishes that aren't at other standard Chinese takeout-style places, the food is always delicious and they never skimp on ingredients. Favorites here include the Chicken with Cashews, Lemon Chicken, Chicken Amazing, Fried Rice, Lo Mein, diet/steamed dishes
Aki
We had a wonderful birthday here celebrating my mom. I’ve been coming to Aki since I was a kid, and the staff is just so wonderfully kind and genuine. They make you feel like family. Their sushi (especially salmon avocado and sweet potato tempura rolls) is very good and fairly priced. I can’t recommend them highly enough. This is a gem.
I’ve been eating at Aki for about 9 years now. The fish is consistently fresh and the food is consistently delicious! They have a larger selection of specialty rolls than other places in the area, and the flavor combinations are on point. I have tried many of their rolls, entrees and appetizers, over the years, and have enjoyed them all. My favorite roll is the Red Dragon (for tuna fans.) Aki gives you a nicely sized slice of fish on top of each piece of sushi or maki. Their portions are generous, when compared to other places in town, and their food is better, in my opinion. There are probably around 10 sushi places in the East Northport area, and (after trying them all) I only eat at two of them (Aki being one.) Aki is superior because of the freshness, quality and flavor of their food. Next time you’re in the mood for sushi, try Aki. I think you will agree! PS: My photos are from a recent takeout order. I will update with restaurant photos the next time I dine-in.
Chefs of New York
I literally cannot say enough good things about this Italian spot. The pizza crust is absolutely out of this world and all of the different specialty slices are so delicious. The vodka sauce is the best I’ve ever had. The chicken parm…. A MUST have. This is my go to spot for everything Italian. If you have not been here yet, don’t walk, run.
Didn’t want to have to write this but we ordered 3 pies for 10 people and all of them were overwhelmed with toppings. Pizza was all falling apart and was not please to eat. Taste, it was more on the saltier side and quite greasy. (If this is your preference then you may like it.) The dough was a good but other than that the pizza itself was overflowed with too much topping. Hope this review helps better their pizza quality for deliveries.
Great Wall Chinese Food
Extremely UNFRIENDLY, uncomfortably so!. The food’s OK, but not better than other restaurants in the area! There are so many other places where people appreciate your business, it doesn’t seem like this one is one of them. Won’t be going back.
I really love their hot and sour soup which I've tried at other restaurants and they don't make it as good as this place. So far they're my favorite. I also love their garlic broccoli and chichen with vegetables. Reasonable prices and nice upgrade on the interior.
