Cala's Kitchen and Catering
If you’re looking for a place that feels like home, this charming little gem is it. From the moment you step through the door, you’re greeted by the warmest hospitality and a sense of community. We had Anne as a server and I couldn’t imagine a more sweeter person she made the meal so special. The Cala family is genuinely kind-hearted and makes every guest feel like family. The food is made with love, and you can taste the care in every bite. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the ingredients are fresh, the recipes are passed down with pride, and the atmosphere is as comforting as a home-cooked meal. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this heartwarming experience—it’s truly a hidden treasure!
Great place to eat. Food is great. Unfortunately I'm guessing the server entered the wrong number in when she charged my card because she took 5.33 over the amount I had put down. So they got a total tip of 10.33 instead of the 5 dollars I had tipped them. So I will be calling tomorrow morning hoping they can fix it.
Pasquale's Italian Restaurant Derby
Ordered a small pizza with lite sauce, mushrooms, onions, banana peppers, and a single order of wings medium and saucy. Asked for a coffee and a glass of water and a coke. Had to remind the waiter about the water. The pizza and wings arrived. I’m not sure how the one who made the pizza could not see how burnt it was. The waiter took it back to be remade. Tried a wing, and the skin was basically thawed but not cooked, and the inside was soft and gooey ish. Very underdone. Sent that back. Then a woman came out who proceeded to tell us that she had been making wings all day, the wings are big, no one else complained, and the extra sauce made them soggy. She argued with us, and showed her immaturity, and i professionalism in such a way that all we could think was that her feelings must’ve been hurt because she knows what she’s doing , and someone questioned it? I dont know. Then we were told the wings would take longer to remake because we wanted them crispy. No one asked for crispy wings. We just wanted them cooked so that they were done, and we wouldn’t be spending the night on the toilet. Then the second pizza came out, and it was made incorrectly. At this point we had been there over an hour. Still no wing brought back out. We were told by 2 people 15 minutes apart, that the wings would be another 20 minutes each time. Finally, we said we’d pay for our drinks, and wanted to leave. No manager, unless the wing lady was the manager, came out to talk to us. Pasqualies has gone downhill in a big way. We have had a few other problems with burnt pizzas at the takeout counter , and have spoken to a manager, who said, “What do you want me to do?” I have no photos because the food wasn’t on the table long enough. Just very disappointed. Restaurants are expensive, and a customer should be treated well, and food should be done correctly. No excuses. And if I hear they are short staffed once more…..that has nothing to do with the quality of the food or the service. Shame on Pasqualies for hiring incompetent people who just don’t care.
Food was good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Soup was OK. Tasted fine, just not my cup of tea. Place looks nice inside. Only complaint is dirty dishes stayed on the table too long. I even pushed them to the end .. talking over dirty dishes is not romantic ...
Golden Place Chinese Restaurant
This place should be shut down! I can’t imagine they pass health codes! It’s filthy dirty! Make is sick. I stopped for a quick late dinner. Just Won Ton soup & shrimp egg roll. It all went down the garbage disposal! Won Ton had grease floating on top & broth was a dark yellow color. The meat in won ton noodles were like it came from a wild animal. Egg roll no good either. Never again! Only thing good was the Asian owner was polite. Good luck not getting sick on this food.
My first and last trip there ever. Went there because my wife likes the place. Placed a to go order. Chicken and broccoli with rice sweet and sour chicken with rice and a order of spring rolls. Got home found out there was no sweet and sour chicken or rice. They got the broccoli and chicken with rice and the spring rolls right but there was nothing else except fortune cookies. Will never go there again ever.
China King
Love this place! Great Chinese food and awesome staff. I currently live out of town, but always make sure to stop here when I am in town!
The best of the best. This place has been in business since I was a kid and I am now 35. The food is always top notch and large portions. Other places I go to seem to really skimp out and can nowhere near match the quality of China King. There are at times kids handling the order or who are behind counter who can put full grown adults to shame with their excellent customer service. Child or not, always polite and friendly customer service all around. Always fast and fresh. Not sure if this has been same owners or not this entire time but thanks for 30 years of consistent excellent food!
