Ichiban & Chang’s Garden
i ordered dinner for me and my fiancé from here we hadn’t eaten all day so we were excited for this food. when we got home and opened the general tso chicken it looked like this. if i didn’t walk here i’d go back and complain in person it’s that upsetting.
I ordered the seafood delight. The most expensive item in their menu. I like to support local businesses. I usually order the most expensive thing on the menu for my first time. I evaluate quality along with quantity. The quality was just ok nothing special. The quantity, well. There was maybe a total of 7 pieces of seafood on the seafood delight. The rest was veggies I had to pick through to get to the actual seafood. Surprisingly though the lomein was extremely good. However I feel like if I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu or just ordered lomein I would have been better off.
Lam's Chinese Kitchen
I have been in Albany for 12yrs and I claim two of the best Chinese restaurants which one is in Watervliet (freaking delicious). After 12yrs I have added Lam’s Kitchen as my third Chinese spot of good eats! Being a New York City Native it is extremely difficult to find wonderful authentic tasting food so take my word for it when I say this place hits good for a decent price.
I used to love Lams kitchen back in the day, but there quality has gone entirely down the drain....I didn't pay $13 for a bowl of fat pieces
Capitol House Chinese Kitchen
I ordered food two days in a row. The first time was delivery. The second was pick up by myself. Excellent food in both experiences! And very affordable price!
The food is good but I won't order again. Ordered through Postmates, got an incompetent driver that dropped order off elsewhere (who knows where). Called the restaurant and the lady said she has nothing to do with it call Uber eats, I called them and they lied saying that the driver tried to get a hold of me when I had my phone next to me the entire time, not once did it go off. I also tried to contact the driver to tell him the food is not at my door and the call kept getting disconnected. That being said I had to eat the cost of the food due to somebody else's mistake, there are PLENTY of other Chinese places that will now be getting my money. Not worth the risk going through a delivery service, Uber can eat it 😊
Dragon Fried Fish
I eat at a lot of hole in the wall Chinese restaurants. But this is probably one of those that should be avoided. Proportion was ok, food was very bland, had a hot and spicy beef. The fried rice for lunch special was just rice with some veggies sprinkled.
I decided to Do a YouTube review for this place. Over the years I’ve been told it’s the worse reviewed Chinese spot in Albany. And decided to see for myself. The restaurant itself did not seem dirty. Besides the door and the outside of the garbage. But the floors and tables as well as the back of the house was pretty clean. Rating their cleanliness out of a 5 I give them a 4. I kept it simple by ordering shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. Because how could you mess something so simple up. The food came out within 5-6 min of me ordering. It was piping hot and fresh. I gave the food an overall 10 out of 10. However my daughter gave them at 7 out of 10 because she didn’t think the rice had that much flavor. But she really enjoy the egg roll. I thought the egg roll was pretty big compared to your average egg roll. And noticed they weren’t skimpy on the shrimp. A lot of Chinese joints only put two shrimps per egg roll ours had 4 each. Wasn’t greasy. Nice and crispy. And over all delicious. The server didn’t had us our bag. Seemed a little bit not to friendly. She sat our bag on the other table. And insisted we got it from the other table. Instead of her handing it directly to us. Could also be she is social distancing. But because the food was hot and fresh. And delicious. I can’t complain. If they give that door and trash can a good wipe down. I’d give them 5 stars easily. But because the door and garbage can we’re not to clean, I give them a solid 4 stars.
Amazing Wok
Haven’t ordered from here in a while, but in reading more recent reviews, they’ve gotten excellent reviews so I decided to go for it, and food was delicious. Tender ribs with meat on them, and pork fried rice was flavorful!! Keep up the good work AW!! Kudos!
I always have a hard time finding Chinese places I like who do the things I like to eat well. This one is awesome, and everything was exactly how I liked it. The pricing was great, the food was excellent, and it was convenient since it was in a dead strip-mall. Thankfully it works in this place's favor because there is lots of parking and it's easy to drive up and just pick something up and go. I have definitely eaten here again, and will keep doing so.
Chop Stix Restaurant
It stinks and they charge alot for crab ragoon just for you to eat just wanton and no stuff filled at all I try to get a new order told me no and to deal with it
We travel a ways to this place. They make our food anyway we ask. They are very friendly if you are friendly. We've witnessed many not very nice people. My husband is not daring and sticks with Chicken and Broccoli with baby corn everytime! Lol. I routinely change it up and had most things... Shrimp with broccoli, chow mein and boneless ribs all good. Today sweet and sour chicken.... their pork fried rice is best as it's real tasty.
China Max
I dislike how they try to rush their line but then they give you a almost nothing of food. It’s $7 bucks plus tax and I barely get food. I rather go to J’s Kitchen during lunch and pay $8 for a chicken w. Broccoli and get twice the amount of food! This is some b.s. and I ain’t going back.
I recently visited a restaurant, and I must say, it was quite a disappointing experience. The sight of all the forks staying in one box and everyone touching them made me feel disgusted. Moreover, the plates were dirty and dusty, which added to the overall unpleasantness. It's safe to say that it's not a place I would recommend for dining.
Shun's Kitchen
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I go to UAlbany and this is the only takeout place I get almost every weekend. The prices CANNOT beat the quality of the food!! The chicken wings are just so😍😍 the great proportion of lo mein, and the bento boxes omg!! It’s just endless deliciousness. The owners are rly nice I know because once my boyfriend and I went to the actual restaurant and spent like $40 and only finished less than half our food, the rest we took home for leftovers and they’re always so bomb fr. As broke college students, this is my tip: NEVER EVER get takeouts through DoorDash. The deliveries take FOREVER and they always do something wrong stg. The prices through DoorDash is also outrageous. Always always have them deliver!! The delivery guy is so nice so always tip!!!! Anyways I just had the bento box with my bf and the miso soup is💯💯💯💯 I will forever stay loyal to Shun’s Kitchen❤️‼️‼️
The food looked delicious and we were eager to enjoy a nice meal however, we did not. Food was bland and lacked any real good flavor. Lots of grizzle in the chicken. I hate giving bad reviews, but we won't return. Redeeming factors: cheap and the wontons were crispy.
